Since most of October is NOT free dining, are people just canceling or sucking it up?

Free dining has zero appeal for us so it doesn't affect our planning. Mostly curious!

We're going in October on a 35% off bounceback offer. I was ecstatic when I found out most of October is excluded from free dining. Hopefully that means I'll have a better chance at getting a better BOG ADR time than I currently have!

Free Dining was blacked out for the majority of October last year. I think a lot of people were expecting the same this year. Those people are probably waiting to see what RO discounts will be offered.

Have never booked FD. I'm waiting for a room discount to book. DH does not want to go, so unless a good deal comes along we're not going.

Not interested in dining plan at all. I really wish there was one more plan with 2 TS a day and 1 QS. The deluxe dining plan is too much and the regular dining plan is not enough.

But i digress. Yes, I'm hoping for a room only discount, but the trip is planned and budgeted for so I won't cancel if I don't get it. Might cut back on certain $$$ tours/dining/spa services if I don't get a discount though. I wonder what the odds are of getting a BB code for August 2016 while I'm there?

We are booked for October, could have switched to November for FD but are booked with the BB offer, 30% @ Coronado Springs, business class. FD doesn't appeal to me either, I'm glad I'm not alone in this. Hopefully that means crowds will be lower for us! I'm sure they will offer a discount for this time though. We are booked for Dec 12 through 22. We share a lot of meals and enjoy signature dining so no hard feelings from me on "missing" out. I don't understand they hype, as a couple we'd prob break even....maybe with the kids FD would be a better deal in the long run, but I'm sure we'd still end up spending oodles of $$$ no matter what LOL

I have a love/ hate relationship with free dinning...

Love to get it to make dinning cheaper as we up grade to deluxe.

Hate it for the fact that it makes the crowd a little higher.

A bounceback is an offer that you can only book while you are already at Disney staying on a current reservation. The purpose is to encourage repeat visits. There will be a sheet in your packet of information explaining what the current bounceback is at the time you're there and the dates it's available for. Luckily for us, there was a bounceback that worked for our October 2015 trip when we were at Disney in December 2014, so I booked.

I don't know what the current bounceback is. I booked ours when we were there in December, and it was a RO offer. It was 35% off villas. Not sure of what the other offers were as that was the category we booked (I think it was 30% off deluxes and 25% off moderates and values, but I could be wrong).

Current BB is for certain dates the rest of 2015 - 35% off deluxe, 30% off moderates, 25% off values. I booked my September BB while there in December 2014. Historically, the BB switches sometime in August (?) to offer free dining the following year for I think late August-Sept dates. Then at some point later in the fall it should switch back to room discounts for 2016 (certain dates only). Last year I had googled all the relevant dates but I am foggy on them now!
