October 7, 2007 Wonder

what is the super terrific Atlantis special? We got a room at the comfort suites, but if the Atlantis is better, we'll cancel. How dressy is the dressy night?

The Atlantis special was $129/night, but you had to book it by 9/14. Sorry!

Dressing:
I think we should all get lime green t-shirts and show up at one of the games at the same time (our kids would die of embarrasement I'm sure)...

So, the document fairy visit anyone of you yet??? Might I say this is getting a bit.... close???

I talked to a cruise line rep today and he said that our documents were mailed off yesterday. Since we booked through a travel agent, she will get them first and then send them to us. So...we should all be receiving them very soon!

Hmm... interesting because the first set of "docs" I got was mailed directly to me... o.k. so you are in the east and I am in the west let's see who get's em first :thumbsup2

Now off to the gym, gotta work off the 10 lbs I'll gain in 2 weeks...:yay:

Just tried to fill out my online forms. I completed the ones for me, but when I tried to fill out the guest info forms for DH, DD and DD, it wouldn't let me do it. Kind of odd.

I realized today that I needed to buy sunscreen, and since I didn't do it while it was still summer (here in the Northeast, it is long gone) it is going to be hard to find the kind me and my kids like. I hate to wait until we get there - but it may happen...

I got my on line forms partially filled out, then couldn't finish, so I called Disney Cruise Line. I was told they were having problems with the site. This happened this afternoon. I haven't tried since then.

I'm wondering how much time is really saved by filling out the forms online. If you are able to get to the terminal early (we will), then I think you unfortunately have a lot of time to kill anyway before they actually let you board. So if worse comes to worse, we'll just fill them out the old fashioned way when we get to the terminal...

If you are getting there the night before I understand there are several supermarkets nearby where it might be cheap to get. Have you tried places like Walmart and Target?

2 more weeks! yipee!!!

Our walmart was pretty wiped out 2 weeks ago when I bought mine. Target had a bit better seletion.
I will be going to FL walmart if all else fails I can pick up sunscreen for you if you let me know kind you want.

I'm in California and we'll be happy to share our sunscreen also... I also bought some really cool Sunscreen wipes from QVC on line. They are not cheap but it's a good backup!

You guys are great! I'm headed to Target tomorrow morning for a variety of things, including sunscreen, so hopefully that will work.

I also want one of those over the door pockets to hold random stuff, but am not sure where to find it. We don't have a dollar store nearby - but maybe Walmart will come through.:goodvibes

I can't believe in just 2 little weeks we will be in Florida !!! My family will be leaving Friday night to take our time to drive down. We plan to stop in Georgia at an El-Cheapo motel Friday night, then finish the 12 hour drive Saturday morning. We should reach Port Canaveral about noon Saturday. We are staying at the Radisson at the Port on Saturday night. Does anyone have any suggestions for dinner near the port ( or within a reasonable drive ). My boys would likely enjoy a trip to the Ron-Jon Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach. Does anyone have any suggestions for sights or dinner?

Don't forget to attach some lime green Mickeys (alien green paint chips from Home Depot) to your purse/bag, so we can identify each other... I just laminated a couple and am dangling them from my little backpack (no, not a Baggalini, just a regular little backpack) - they look so cute!

Hello all!
I just found this site/thread. We are also sailing on the Wonder on the 7th - me, DH, and DS9 and DS 7. Anyone else with boys around those ages? Would be nice to have other kids their age to look for at the club. We'll try to meet everyone at the pool the first afternoon.
I have a question - it seems like some people know the dining info already. DH and I want to go to Palo and made a reservation for the first night. But someone said that Monday and Tuesday are the same restaurant, and I'm worried that we'll send up with Animators Palate the first night and I don't want to miss that. At this point it would probably be hard to change the reservation anyway, but who knows?
Hopefully getting to the end of the shopping list today as we leave on the 3rd and go to the World for a few days before the cruise. Staying at the French Quarter.
:joker:
Thanks for the help!
Eileen

Welcome Eileen! I have a DS9 and a DD4. They don't know about the trip yet though. I'm really hoping that they meet some of the DIS kids and want to stay in the clubs a little more this time.

I don't know about my dinner yet. I only know that we have late seating.

We are leaving on the 6th to drive to the Raddison at the port. We're doing a day at DW on the 11th.

I am so ready for this trip!!

Ginger

Hi Eileen,
Glad you found us. We are going to Palo for brunch, so we won't miss any of the dinners. We have me, DH, 2DDs, DSIL, and DGS5. We have early seating for dinner. We have a condo for the week near Disney--staying there Saturday night before the cruise, then Thursday and Friday night after the cruise. We're going to MNSSHP on Thursday night. We've never been to it, so we're excited. See you at the Mickey pool at 3:00 in 2 weeks!

Welcome! Regarding your Palo question...I spoke to a rep on the phone the other day about this b/c I have the same concern. We booked Palo for the last night at our regular dinner time, but I don't want to miss any of the restaurants or dinner with our DD either...so I am afraid we may have to cancel Palo. Apparantly, the dining rotation is dependent upon your dining time. For example, 6:00 dining will have one rotation while 6:30 has a different rotation, 8:00 yet another rotation, etc. The rep said the we will not know our rotation until we actually board the ship (it's listed on your room key). He said that if we need to change or cancel a reservation, we can do so at that time at a designated desk. As long as you cancel Palo by 2:00 the day of the reservation, you are not charged for it. Hopefully this answers your question. I hope it works out for both of us! From what I've read on this board...Palo is one thing NOT to be missed!

We leave on Oct 3rd to hit magic Kingdom, MGM and epcot then on the the ship. We just got our tickets to MNSSHP!!! We will be going Thursday night.

My kids would love to e mail back and forth before the cruise. My DD is 7 and DS is 10. Just send me a PM and we can get them started. :dance3:

I was reading about dress up night, is it really that dressy?? I was planning on nice capris and dressy shirt, I guess I need to go shopping??

Thanks for answering my fish extender question!!! I think I am going to find the magnetic board and go that route. :cheer2:

Are we still doing the pool meet at 3:00?? What time are we allowed to get on the ship??
Well see ya all real soon!!!! Kim

Hi all!

I don't think there is really a dressy night on the Wonder, but if anyone knows differently, let me know. I think that when people go to Triton's they dress up a bit more, but generally capris and a clean shirt are fine! As someone else has said, put a bit of jewelry on and change out of your sneakers, and you'll be ok. That is, unless you want to dress up, which is fun too.

Also, if you find you don't like where your Palo reservation falls in your dining rotation, you can when you get on board ship request a change in your Palo res (or, I think, in your dining rotation).

Today I made a trip to Target and bought an over the door shoe holder (still not sure it's necessary), a 6-plug outlet, some new luggage, and other random things I needed. Unfortunately, still can't find the kids' favorite sunscreen, but later this week I'll try Walmart.

Hope to see you all at 3:00 at the Mickey pool on the 7th.
