I was almost that excited when we went to Alaska in '99. Take extra film or media cards, which ever you use. I was there almost 2 weeks and took close to 700 pictures.

Hey Justin, :welcome: aboard and welcome to The DIS. I think you will find our little group fun and friendly. Don't read back to far on the thread, you might not like us if you do! :lmao: Seriously though, it doesn't get interesting till about page 5 or 6. For the 2 of you who are starting with DCL, you are starting at the top IMHO. I'm not a cruise aficionado by any strech, but I know what I like. Between Princess, DCL, & NCL, DCL wins hands down. I have a "list" going for this cruise. This is totally optional. None of us will think any less of anyone who chooses not to participate in the list. Every time someone joins in or there are any corrections made to the list, I will e-mail everyone on the list a new list. The list contains some or all of the following information:
-DIS-name
-E-mail address
-First names, ages if desired, and Occupation of adults
-Pirate Name (if you like...see link in signature)
-First names and ages of children (so the children will know if there are others their age)
-Dining session
-Stateroom #
-Hometown
-Where you are staying night B4 cruise
-Special occasion to be celebrated during cruise (if any)

If there is any info you don't know yet, you can leave it off, and add it later.
If you would like to be included on the list, pm me or e-mail using the link in my signature and I will add you to the list! I send the list attached as a Word document and I scan it for viruses every time. If you want to participate and require a different format, let me know and I will try to accommodate you.

Do you have any other plans made yet? Some of the bunch will be at WDW the week or a few days before the cruise. Others will be in the PC area 2 or 3 or more days before the cruise. We tentatively have a pool party scheduled for 8pm at the Radisson on the 6th, kind of a meet & greet. Some of us will have dinner at Grills that night as well. So jump right in and stir the pot a little. You might get some of these other folks talking. Oh, and don't mind Mal Hombre, he's harmless... :rotfl2:

party: 15 weeks or 105 days, 2 hours until we are on the Magic!!!! :woohoo:

My husband, 9-yo son and I will be on this cruise, and I'm getting really excited. My husband and I honeymooned in the World in 1995. We'll be spending the week of Oct 1 - 7 in the World at Port Orleans and then going on our first ever cruise. Any helpful advice will be appreciated, especially from such experienced cruisers! We have the Passporter's Guide to Disney Cruises, and feel that there is a lot of good information there. Will there be opportunities for ballroom dancing on board? We love to dance, and are looking forward to pirate night as well.

We're from Denver, where are you all from?

Quite a few of us are from Middle Tennessee, and we are glad to welcome you to the boards!!! :thumbsup2 :welcome:

My family has cruised Disney 4 times before, and if we can't answer your questions, I'm sure someone else can! :cool1:

Welcome!!!! :yay:

:welcome: chrisnglenn to the DIS and welcome aboard what we call our "Latitude Adjustment Cruise". Come on in and make yourselves at home. There are people posting here from Tennessee, Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and others from Colorado, namely Colorado Springs. There are some boys and girls on the list that are the same age as your DS. Some of our group will be at WDW the same week you are, and I think at PO. Don't know about the ballroom dancing unless there is something on formal night. That would be a good question for the cruise forums board. There is a lot of dancing and singing on pirate night as well as the sailaway party, though. I got your email and sent you one, well 2 actually....fat finger mistake. :thumbsup2 When I get your info, i'll add you to the list and send out an update. I have also invited jwest1975 to submit info for the list but haven't heard from him yet. Anyway, once again, welcome and jump right in!

chrisnglenn - my nephew is 9yo too. So your son has at least one boy his age.

I'm so excited. It's seems so close since yesterday I booked our spa, palo etc. I did the REAS package as a surprise for dh's b-day. He loved that rainforest room last time so I figured this would be perfect!!! It always becomes more real when you can book things!!! Not to mention by niece and nephew will not stop talking about this cruise. Since dh and I are the only ones of the family that have been on the Magic we keep getting phones calls from the kids asking us questions. I don't know how they are going to sleep the close we get.

We have a little something planned ahead of the cruise. We will be heading down on Thursday the 5th staying in Kissimmee. Friday, we plan to spend the day at Sea World. I think that will be the best thing for my then soon to be 2 year old. :) We'll then make our way Saturday morning to Port Canaveral.

Hi chrisnglenn, welcome aboard! We're just down the road from you in Colorado Springs. We're going to WDW the week before the cruise too. There are 5 of us, DH, and 3 DS's. We'll be staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. This will be our first Disney cruise also. So far the cruise part of our vacation is still a surprise for our sons. We will just see how far we get with this surprise. :rotfl2:
It's good to see that you have the "Passporter" as that does have alot of good information. These "Disboards" have good information too as you probably have already observed. Anyway we are all going to have a blast and we're glad you're coming along with us too. :cool1:

VERY cool! We're at the Port Orleans French Quarter this time, and I've been planning our action plan for the week in the World. We'll spend most of it in the World, but one day out to the Kennedy Space Center. Will give our son some totally cool educational experience. He's in honors math (who knew there was honors in third grade), so the Space Center will show him something practical that you can do when you're good at math.......

Maybe we can find a way to meet up before we go to Florida, since you are so close......let me know if you're interested.

I LOVE TO GO SWIMMIN' WIT BOW-LEGGED WIMMIN AND SWIM BETWEEN THEIR KNEES.....WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!

Okay, now I know I'm supposed to be on this cruise! I've been stressing over it since we've never taken such a "big" vacation. However, I can't tell you how many times in the past fifteen years of marriage (and many years of friendship before that) I have heard my husband sing that song! This is definately the group for us.

I have been to Disney exactly twice, when I was six months old and again when I was ten. My husband has been once when he was about 19. My kids, ages 8 (DS) and 3 (DD) have obviously never been. I had spinal fusion surgery in April. This put a serious damper on my daughter's desire to meet Cinderella. I just didn't feel that I would be up to the parks in October. The cruise seems like the perfect alternative. The more I researched it, the better it sounded.

It all seems a little overwhelming to me at the moment. I'm also an elementary teacher, and the thought of teaching, cruising, and rushing back to teaching overwhelms me too. My travel agent assures me, however, that this is the most relaxing of vacations.

We live at the Tn / Ga line, so our plans are to begin the trip down after school dismisses Friday afternoon. We'll stop when we can't go any farther and finish the next morning. I would like to be at the Port by 10:30 or so based on everything I've read.

Allen, I'll email you my info via your profile. My computer tries to go to Outlook through the link, and it isn't hooked up to the school's server right now. Let me know if there is any problem.

I am welcome to any and all tips. I am a freak about finding out all I can about something once I've committed to it! I'm really looking forward to chatting with you all over the next few months!

:welcome: GGBacha / Ginger and family to the DIS and welcome aboard what we have named our "Latitude Adjustment Cruise". Come on in and make yourselves at home. There are people posting here from Tennessee, Georgia, (which side of the line??) Texas, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maine, and Colorado. Don't stress over it, have fun with it. You will love it so much, you might re-book while onboard! :boat: We have several teachers on this trip. :teacher: My DW is a Title 1 teacher. Our system is on the "modified" calendar, so we get 2 weeks off in the fall. If you have problems with email, :badpc: you can just directly enter jallenv@aol.com into your email program, or you can use the PM system on this board to send me the info. Just ask away with any questions you have. If someone here doesn't know, we will find someone that does. Again, jump right in and don't stress over it. This is half the of the fun. :thumbsup2 See you on the board,
Allen

GGBacha - Welcome!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
You and your family will have so much fun on this cruise. Your daughter will get to see Cindy and all the rest of the princesses. Plus it is relaxing. Several days on our last cruise, dh and I found cars up top and just watched the ocean go by. What could be better????

Ask away if you have any specific questions!!!

pirate: The swimmin' wit bow-legged women is mainly for shock value.
We'll need you husband's size for our exclusive cruise Speedo's.
They are in hot pink and have "Welcome Aboard" across the front and "Feel the Magic" across the toosh.
Big Red 1 is handling the ordering as we are having a little trouble with the licensing for some reason.
:rotfl2:

I read your post aloud to my husband. His reply is that there needs to be a cage attached to the rear, because he will wear that hot pink speedo when monkeys fly out of his butt.

Pardon my French. Are we still allowed to be part of the group? :confused3

:lmao: Don't worry, he really is harmless! Besides, if it's up to me to order the speedo's, Mal Hombre will be the only one wearing them. :rotfl2: That has been the response from most everyone. :rolleyes1 They are only letting him out long enough to go on the cruise. :teeth:

Can't really get too excited. Wishing it was the Magic. Will be interesting to compare the two ships. They are trying open dining for the first time, we have upper level seating. Haven't been on a ship other than the Magic since 1993.
