**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

We're leaving tomorrow morning, but then again we're only about 25 minutes south of the port so I think we may be the last to head out. Look forward to seeing everone tomorrow and safe travels!

....see you at the port.

DD passed out at about 10pm... stayed up late only to suffer through the Yankees losing...

DH saved his packing for the last minute. And what am I doing? Finishing up some transcription work that I do on the side. (Yay! First vacation without a laptop in YEARS!)

My brother is taking care of my cat in my absence, but he will probably give my house the white-glove once over... I hate that feeling! And so I start the cleaning, the mopping, etc.

Wow, 5:30 a.m. comes early. Hope we hit 110 pages!

OK we're heading to port in about an hour with a pit stop at walmart along the way. Rain Ponchos i think are a must. We did MNSSHP last night as best wecould amidst all the rain and lightning and the weather channel says port and key west are scattered stroms the next few days...see you there.

Thought you guys would like to have some pictures of yourselves leaving today.

Enjoy your cruise. We're on the next Western cruise on 10/20/07.

Here you go:

BTW, looking at the time on the Two Palms shot, you guys were 1/2 hour behind schedule, anything up? :confused3

I saw two things that could have held us up. I saw three or four people and some CM sprinting for the gangway and after they got on the ramps were pulled up. So I don't know if we were waiting some for them. There was also a medical emergancy on board that wound up having to leave the ship versus what looked like a very bumpy little boat. So maybe one or none of those things.

Thanks for the photos!

Unfortunately someone had a heart attack on castaway Cay, the ship left there late waiting for a helicopter to fly the man out. That is what they told us at concierge when we were boarding.

Hope everyone made it home safely, sure did enjoy meeting the posters that I did get to meet. We had a wonderful time and went ahead and booked for next November, anybody care to join us?

We're home! Can't wait for everyone to start checking in and giving some feedback on their trip! I think I'm going to write a trip report. Hope lots of us do!!!!

We just got in about 30 minutes ago. We got a dayroom at the Hyatt and got in a swim and a nap prior to our plane departure at 6 pm.

We made some good memories on the trip. Can't believe after all the anticipation that is is done and over!

Got back home late last night. We too got a day room @ the Hyatt (a lifesaver).

Photos are downloading (all 919 of them):

Here's 2 teasers:

And have had a good night's sleep. Skipped church this AM in favor of sleeping in.

Andy, we took DD to Target for a supply run and then went to Downtown Disney for the afternoon before our 8:05 PM flight. The next time we have a late flight, we're getting a Day Room too. We were just too wiped out when we finally got to the house about midnight last night.
There was also a medical emergancy on board that wound up having to leave the ship versus what looked like a very bumpy little boat.
That was my SIL, Janet being medical debarked with Tachycardia (sp). The medical staff on board was fantastic but they couldn't get her heart rate below 200 so the Coast Guard sent a boat to pick her up - gurney, defibrillator, oxygen and all. DCL sent a nurse with her and it looked like a bumpy ride indeed. Fortunately, when she got to the hospital they had a medication that DCL can't keep on board that stabilized the heart rate by about 8:00 Saturday night. She stayed with friends in Winter Haven when she was released from the hospital on Monday and was able to join us for breakfast yesterday morning and ride the DCL bus to the airport so she got a little taste of the Magic. Guess we'll just have to take another cruise so she can experience the full deal.

Other than Janet missing most of the fun, we had a wonderful time and made lasting memories. FYI, the new son-in-law is a prize. DD chose well.

I'll try to get a trip report written in the next week or so.

Everyone keep in touch. It was fun meeting everyone and the stateroom tour was a blast.

Hi All!!

Well every thing went fine for us, and we had a wonderful cruise, Exept for that day in Cozumel Arggggg..

As for things that happened on board.. when we first left someone broke a leg 7 miles out of Orlando, thats what I had heard and caused a 2 hours delay when the ship stop and wasn't moving after we left.. And in Animator Palate someone had I don't know what , at first we thought it was only someone shocking on food, but when the emergency team came up with defibralators and the smell of vomit after they left. I don't know what had happened.. It seemed like a 20 something person....

Will write more when we are more settled in..!!

We're back - hope folks are gonna post and not unpack - LOL!

I just want to add that there was ANOTHER emergency on-board - or weirdo thing that might have caused that 30 minute delay in departure. We noticed after the sail-away party when we went back to our room there were tons of white-uniformed DCL people outside this one cabin about 3 doors down. We also noticed them after dinner plus even more. Eventually there was a permanent person posted outside their door who never left. There was lots of discussion between the white uniforms and the cabin occupants. We thought perhaps it was the family of the one who was medically evac'd (sorry CM_mom about the SIL!).

I didn't find out until later that apparently there was a young family in the cabin (I did see them) - dad mom and little kid. Apparently the DAD got UBER-drunk before the ship sailed and was on that 7th floor secluded deck. I have never been there but is there some place one could "slide" down? He was so drunk he either tried on purpose or fell down some area and had to be rescued. Or perhaps he was attempting suicide? I don't know. Anyway they confined him to the room (but let the wife and kid out). I believe they forced him to leave the boat the next morning in Key West. The wife and kid went with him. The officers were very apologetic to the wife. I remember them telling her if there was anything they could do for her they would, etc.

Ah well, that is my weird story from the boat! I bet that man's wife was either extremely mad or sad. I felt sorry for them.

I enjoyed meeting all of you and it was great to see people I knew and could chat about the trip.

Anyone booked for their next one? We're booked for the 9-28-08 Magic Double Dip - the first one after dry dock. I booked that one before this cruise. I hope to do it - I had a rough time with my older son and his homework. It is hard to pull him from school when he refuses to do the work.:scared:

Well, we are home too! Just got back home today and have been unpacking, laundry, and napping. :) Sounds like you guys have the scoop on all the happenings. I did hear about the person in the dining room - said it was a seizure and he had stopped breathing. Not sure if he stayed on board or not. When we did the dolphin discovery there was a little boy (2 yrs old) that slipped and hurt his leg. The mom, who is a pediatric NP, thought the leg was broken - did anyone ever hear? Just been thinking about him....

CM mom, so sorry to hear about your SIL. How scary! I hope your visit with your daughter was great. I saw you guys a couple of times wondering around.

Thanks for sharing the photos Andy! Those are great - please keep them coming.

We did rebook! :cool1: We booked a dummy date because I know we will change it to October 2009. I hope there are some different stops - can't wait to see the dates.

Our trip was great! I just can not believe it is already over:sad1: It was so much fun getting to meet so many of you. Sorry I missed the stateroom tour - I bet that was great. So, since you guys have seen them all, give me your opinions on them.

OK - who spent the most in Shutters? :rolleyes1 I thought my DH was going to scream when I told him how much. Plus 3 scrapbooks and photo album. We took over 20 rolls plus 3 disposable cameras. Maybe I should wait to get them developed....

Here is a great big :grouphug: to everyone. Keep the stories coming - it helps keep the trip alive!

Melissa

It sounds like there was a lot to chose from as to what could have made the Magic run a little behind! Geez, who knew?!

CMMom: so sorry to hear about SIL. That stinks! I was thinking that anyone with a heart problem loaded into the Coast Guard boat was really brave. I think it would have finished me off! I actually talked to your son (and his wife?) about it some, but by that point I had gotten totally confused as to who everyone was and how they were related. I know I saw you all over the ship though! I hope you got some good quaility time in with your daughter.

In re: guy so drunk he was escorted off the ship. I know a great divorce lawyer. That guy obviously has a problem. If it were me, I would have been tempted to stamp on his hands so he fell the rest of the way in the water. j/k, sort of....

As for us, we had a super terrific trip. I can't say enough how much we enjoyed it. The only downer is I got a sore throat the last two days of the cruise and now it's a full blown cold. bummer. I'm trying not to let it cloud my memories of how great a time we had though. My husband was blown away. I can't wait to book again, but we have an Adventures by Disney next year so I'm having to save my pennies for that, but maybe after....... who knows!

It was great meeting everyone. Everyone post photos!! I will as soon as I get them loaded up.

We are fresh off the plane! Wow What a vacation!!!

First I want to say WOOT WOOT to all you DISERS!! I dont know about all of you, but I really really loved bumping into everyone everywhere! It really added to our trip :-) (why hang out with strange strangers when you can hang out with wierd ones)

Teri! Thanks so so much for my pin and door magnet. I was shocked and touched! Your sneaky!!! And to think I kept walking aorund and would't stop long enough for you to give them to me -giggle-

I did not get any pictures for that first meet... so those who did take photos, please share! From looking around my guess is aroudn 50 of us showed up. So THANK YOU ALL!!! (((HUGS))) Andy.. could you email the full file of the Pirate photo?? UsedtobeSmith@aol.com Thanks!

Cabin tour was a big success! Can we all say OMG to the sideways cat 11's!!! I think those are Disney's best kept secret!! (which reminds me... Yay to those of you who joined DVC!! Welcome HOME!)

Reine I am so happy to hear your SIL is ok. ((hugs)) We saw her being loaded onto the boat (at the time not knowing who she was) and our hearts went out to her then... but to find she was 'one of us' really saddened us. We though of her often durning the cruise, and I hope you all do rebook soon ((hugs))

We also booked a dummy date and plan on pushing it back to 2009, but I think we will do a 4 day cruise next. We really had a great time on the 7 day, but we are Park Junkies, and really missed not having more time at the parks. Although I do plan on trying to talk my DH into a 7 day again, because I would love to see St Thomas.

Ok.. I could go on and on (as you all know) but I am sitting here rocking and rolling... Anyone else still moving?? It's such a bizzare feeling. I hope it clears up faster than last time, when I rocked for a full week (after a 3 day cruise no less!)

I will upload and share pictures tomorrow!

WE DROVE ALL DAY YESTERDAY, AND GOT HOME AROUND 8:30 LAST NIGHT. WE SLEPT IN AND SKIPPED CHURCH ALSO.

WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME, EVERYTHING WAS NEW TO US, AND WE WERE JUST AMAZED AT SO MUCH.

I HAVE DECIDED THAT I WANT TO LIVE ON CASTAWAY CAY.:rotfl2:

CM MOM, SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR SIL, WE HAD NO IDEA THIS HAD HAPPENED. WE ALSO DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE DRUNK GUY.

WE THOUGHT THE SHIP LEFT LATE BECAUSE IT WAS ALMOST 2 HOURS LATE GETTING INTO PORT SAT. MORN.

I HAVE ALSO BEEN CONCERNED ABOUT THE LITTLE BOY WHO FELL AT COZUMEL, IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING, PLEASE LET US KNOW.

I heard a child with a broken leg was air ambulanced home from Cozumel because of the severity of the break. My guess is that this is the one you saw or heard about. Seems like the medical staff had a busy week. Hopefully they can get some rest this week. But let me add for a second time how fantastic they were.

I hope no one ever has to use their trip insurance. In fact, I bought it for our whole crew and figured it was just "the cost of the trip" since we had some folks with health issues (both going on the cruise and other family members) that might have caused cancellation. Turns out Janet had a recurrance of something that hadn't bothered her in 15 years, a totally DIFFERENT health issue than we ever thought of. Janet's trip insurance is gonna be the best $62.00 I ever spent!

We are home..and exhausted! Wow! We must have been saving sleeping until we got home. I just can't stay awake! So wonderful to meet everyone!!! Now just have to remember what face goes with what name.

Man, I gotta work tomorrow. Think I could call in sick and say I had cruiseitis..it's fatally chronic and the only cure is living on a cruise ship..:lmao: :rotfl: We did not get half the things done we wanted...didn't see all the shows, visited the adult clubs only one night (just looked in- didn't participate), found out DM and I are booze wimps..didn't like the tequila shots but didn't mind the margaritas (altho they were strong) does anyone else at the margarita tasting think the ship was rocking a bit more? I almost slid off the toilet seat! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: THANKS! lildeb for the ((wink, wink)) drink! I cannot believe the cruise is over..and no I am afraid I did not book another..<sigh> do yo know I stood by the re-book desk and seriously considered it..but decided I really shouldn't. Needs before wants..this vacation I moved up sooner than I should have because of DGM. I really wanted her to have this time...and she did..thanks to my DM. She really helped her and did all the work. I did the pre-cruise planning and handled all the pre-legwork but DM handled all the on-ship work. She said her legs really got a workout. I tried to take the wheel a few times but the dear kids really didn't behave as well as I would have liked and would cause me to have to hand her back to DM. Neither one had anything to do with the clubs...some like them and some don't. I just raised little non-participators. Ordered alot of room service. OK..how many parents had to handle kid-breakdowns? My DD is the queen of drama! I swear she should have her own TV show!! Prolly get an emmy..or whatever TV shows win.
ALL the suitcases are piled around. I pulled the wet stuff out but the rest still resides in the suitcases. I wonder how long we will live out of them before I finally get them unpacked? Hey, want to start the procrastinator's club again?..Well, maybe later...:rotfl: :lmao:
OK, my nap energy has run out and its time for bed..I will hopefully post pics tomorrow..got lots..(I downloaded every nght almost) into specifically labeled folders. Now I just have to unload Castaway Cay and our departure then the package will be complete. Man, I gotta say that the last leg of our flight was fantastic.we flew thru the sunset and it was gorgeous. Can you tell it was our first night flight?

I hate to hear that about the little boy - he was so tiny! What a bummer. Amen to the trip insurance! My parents always cruise with us and I would not dream of cruising w/o the coverage. In fact, my DM fell at CC on her elbow that she broke a couple of years ago. It is still swollen and she is having problems moving it - so off to the dr. she goes today. Our trip insurance will cover any "accidents." I have never had to use it before, so CM Mom, you may have to walk me through the process! :)

Well, off to work I go (hi ho, hi ho) - now if I could only get that whistle part down.....
