**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

Been busy, busy, busy. Still can't wait for this vacation. We will be in Florida in just 28 days!

Now all off the sudden there is much to do.

Dolphin excursion is booked.
Flights are printed.
Palo/excursions booked.
All boarding paperwork done.
Car rentals are reserved.
Hotels are booked. Staying at Boardwalk Villas prior and Wilderness Lodge Villas after.
Passports in safe - must remember!!!

Crud - haven't taken care of park passes for after. Got to get that done.
Need to get pirate costumes ordered.
Need to reserve tuxedo for Formal night.

Almost time to start packing.

Kind of late but we booked our air today!!!!! I wish I'd booked it about 3 weeks back when AA was having a big sale but I blew it. Now we are on Airtran and I am worried that we won't be able to sit together. Surely they won't seperate my 2 yr from a parent or make DD sit alone it looks like all the seats are singles. Yuck.

At least our air is booked. Now to book the Hyatt day rate for the Sat we disembark. Guess I'll be calling on that tommorow. After that the only decision left is where to stay the night prior. We think we'll stay in Port Canaveral.

Am I the only one who just now booked air? Anyone else not nail down hotel yet?

Hey gouodux we are staying at VWL after the cruise also!

Texasgirl, I booked most of my stuff a while ago. We use SWA and booked our fliight the day they opened and then got a ding to lower our fare by $450 bucks (total) woot! I like to book everything early then check prices to see if they ever get lower.

I really just have to finish up door signs, the shirts I am making, and of course pack.

But I also have PTO meetings Girl Scout meetings (I am both a leader and a c0- leader), bake sales, soccer, dance, singing.... etc that clutters up the schedule :rotfl2:

I'm a girl scout leader too. Fall will really mean that gets busy again. I'm the leader of DD's Brownie troop going on year 3 now.

I wish we'd booked earlier. We were waiting as we weren't sure if we were going in 2 days early and staying on site and going to MNSSHP or going in 1 day prior and staying on the coast.

We LOVE staying on site and really LOVED the party last year but decided to save the money and skip it this year.

I plan to book the hotel this weekend. I waited on that too as I was hoping I'd have enough Hilton Honors points to stay for free at the Doubletree or Hilton Cocoa Beach but we are going to be short. Thinking Country Inn & Suites now.

TexasGirl, we booked on Hotwire and got rooms at the Comfort Inn and Suites for $59.99 per room with 2 adults in each room. We chose the 2.5 stars if I remember correctly. We could have had the 3 stars for $79.99. Either of those beat the $99.00 which was the best online rate for Country Inn and Suites. The Comfort Inn doesn't have a free breakfast but I figured we'd just stop and get some pastries the night before since we're meeting DD and DSIL for lunch as soon as we get on the ship.

Four weeks from now we'll be heading to Palo for dinner. mmm mmm good. Been adding to my "cruise box" almost every day. I'm not letting myself get the suitcases out for another week or two.

DH and I are going to purchase another set of walkie talkies tomorrow. With three groups of folks, two isn't enough. Got the "shower organizers" yesterday as "welcome aboard" gifts for the other two cabins who are first time cruisers.

New folks, be sure to plan for the cruise meet and check out all the info Laura has on page one.

I can hardly wait. I just finished my design for our door (it looks awesome, if I do say so)   . I have started packing, though very little, just the stuff I know I don't need until then.:hmghost:

WOW LOTS of NEW CRUISERS!!! WOOT!

Yes please check out the first two posts of this thread, lots of info on there.

if you want to be added to any list just let me know.

A big ((((HUG)))) to our new cruisers (oh, heck, to all of us cruisers!) and welcome!

The coolest thing about meeting folks on the DISboard is that, even though you haven't exactly met everyone, you feel like you have friends on board. I really like this, especially since DH and I are traveling alone for the first time since 1987; it's always been with the kids.

And a big hand and pixie dust for Laura pixiedust: ; she's been fantastic keeping us all up to date and organized. :thumbsup2 :cheer2:

Hmm...only 3 shopping weekends left 'til cruise time. Better get busy on my our cruise 'todo' list:

a) Cameras/batteries/chargers
b) Camera housings
c) Dive gear
d) Order formalware
e) Other stuff

Some of this stuff has been in hiding since last years cruise.

We booked our hotel yesterday. We are officially staying now at the Radisson at the Port. I've heard good things on this board about this Radisson property. We also booked yesterday our towncar shuttle. We may end up canceling the shuttle and renting a car on the way down. I'm a bit concerned about not having a car in Port Canaveral and being confined to the hotel. DH says we'll be fine. We'll just play at the pool all day. We'll see. I'd like to go see a bit of the area and esp. the beach.

The last 2 years we've stayed at POFQ and I'll miss our favorite resort and going to MNSSHP but saving money! We got our room for $99 plus it has the shuttle to the ship in the morning. Anyone else booked here?

Lori-

So exactly how much school will you be missing while on the cruise? I teach HS math and they are giving us 3 days off for a fall break....shame on them they gave me 3 and I'm stealing 3 more...

Beth

We are only off the 5th and the 8th. She'll miss 4 days of school. But at least not 6, thus the week we picked.

I think a lot of districts are out the whole week or at least 3.

We have the Monday off. My kids will miss, lets see, 5 1/2 days of school. We wont do this when they are older, but for now, I dont see it as an issue.
