My Daughter was the same way on the our first disney cruise in April 2007. We did the 7 day western then also. Kristen was 8 at that time and turned 9 on the second day of the cruise. Within a day she was no longer shy and didn't want to leave her friends at the club and the counselors; they are great.

One night when Diane and I had reservations at Palos Kristen and Stephanie (13) at the time ) they ate dinner with the kids club. Later in the cruise Kristen wanted to eat with her friends again. Your son should be fine. Kristen will be eleven so I am sure she will show him the ropes and we will definitely get them together at the Radisson before heading to the terminal.

When is your son's Birthday, My oldest will be turning 15 November 2.

My son will be turning 10 on November 1st.

I just got my cruise paperwork in the mail and that makes it seem more real that we are actually going on this cruise.

Has anyone done the swimming with dolphins either at Chankanaab National Park or Dolphinaris? I would like to know your thoughts, problems, would you do it again...

What about an excursion to Stingray city? Like it, dislike, would you do it again...

NJ pre cruise meet chat is Tuesday

The adult chat is a bit fuzzy (at least for me). Some people suggested changing it to Sunday. I was there last night but I mentioned that Sunday wasn't so hot for me. Now someone suggested we do both Sunday and Wednesday to better accommodate everyone.

I'm so confused.

Yes, chats are on Sunday at 8. Wednesdays were getting increasingly difficult for Kelly.

I will still be on Wednesday night, so if anyone wants to chat ... meet me there.

Yes! We did it last year in Chankanaab. We enjoyed it, but there are some things we'd change if we did it again.

#1 - we would go prepared to stay the day. We didn't and missed much of the park because of that.

#2 - I would wear sunscreen even though they suggest that you not. We got burned out there - there is NO shade around the dolphin area.

#3 - We did this, but I want to suggest it to you ... Take a waterproof camera. The pictures they take are great, but there's nothing like having your own from right there with the dolphin.



I have a friend that goes to Grand Cayman every June and stays for the month. I was picking her brain as the cruisers chatted last night. She DEFINITELY recommends Stingray City as an excursion there. You may want to book it outside of Disney, though - especially if you have children that don't fit the age range that the Disney excursions allow.

Still here......busy with end of school year activities for the kids. Here in NJ our schools are in until June 25!!!!!! We might as well go all Summer (not like we're having the best weather anyway) LOL

I was here for a little while and signed up for fish extenders and some other fun things. Just wanted to let everyone who is in charge of the lists that we need to cancel. We have indirectly been affected by this terrible economy. We have an investment property that the tenants have decided that leases mean nothing and have got up and left leaving us in quite a predicament. It's been a little while now and until we can get it rented again (which we are finding out is veerry difiicult in this economy), we are losing quite a bit of money each month and this has set us back. We just can't swing a cruise right now. I hope each and every one of you have a WONDERFUL time!!
