Thanks for posting this. I was initially a bit scared I would miss a week of the greatest sport ever. Then I heard Diversions runs games on Sunday. Thank goodness. So, after a quick trip into Key West, there's a chair with my name on it in Diversions.

It is only appropriate for A Jersey Laden Cruise! Big Rivalry weekend for the Jersey Teams. Jets-Dolphins!!! Giants Eagles!!! Go JETS !!!!!:happytv:

Bye week for us to which will make John thrilled but that Giants/Eagles game could be a good one to watch....

Southwest Airlines just opened up their flights through the 31st of October.

Now its real! We are booked for the flight down to leave from Philly at 5:15 PM and arrive at MCO at 8:15 PM. We are at least getting there. The window for flights home do not open on SouthWest until I believe Late May according to the SW rep. We were able to book the flight down for $99 (109.60 taxes.fees). This is better than other rates that we have found since we do not have to add seat fees, bag fees, and anything else that the others are charging on top of their fares.

We would have liked to get down earlier on Friday but we are already taking the girls out of school for Mon/Tues/Wed of the cruise.

Now we just have to figure out transportaion from the MCO to the Radisson that night. We are probably going to wait until the returns flights open to decide, we are hoping to try to work a night at WDW on Saturday if possible, or try to visit friends that moved from Jersey to Tampa last summer. If we can get a flight from Tampa to Philly we may do that.

Take care,

We are heading to Lancaster, PA Amish Country on Wednesday morning for a couple of days since the kids are on spring break, so I am not sure if I will get the chance to particpate in Wednesday nights chat!

Have a good week!

Great. Everyone can watch the Falcons lose and make a mockery of themselves on Monday Night Football. :sad2:

Glad you made it to the chat, Steve. I hope you all have a wonderful get away. :)

:(

I missed out!!

We missed you, William!

We had a great chat last night. I hope everyone can make it next Wednesday!!! :)

Don't worry, they're playing the "Aint's." There's probably a better than a 50/50 chance the Falcons will win.

HA!! Have you ever seen the Falcons play when they're on national TV in prime time?! Give 'em an audience, and they'll fail almost every time. They are an embarrassment. :sad2:

One day, Atlanta is going to get a REAL football team. :confused3

Does anyone know if the cast members who work in the Oceaneer's Lab and Club normally recieve tips from the parents? And if they do, what do you tip them?

And while on the subject, what's the normal/average amount to tip on the ship? And who? There are always people listed in tipping guides that don't seem to do anything other than stand there. But like for the servers and room stewards, what's normal?

NO! They are not allowed to accept tips. They can, however, accept candy 'donations.' :) I took a big thing of Starbursts for them last year.

Here's the recommended tipping guide ...
***Per Guest**** per cruise 3-Night 4-Night 7-Night
Dining Room Server 12.00 16.00 28.00
Dining Room Asst. Server 9.00 12.00 21.00
Dining Room Head Server 3.00 4.00 7.00
Stateroom Host/Hostess 12.00 16.00 28.00

While it's true that the Head Server seems, often, to just be standing there, he/she's in charge of many tables and all special orders and requests. Ours on the last cruise, made sure he spoke to us each night and catered to my youngest every time he saw her. He was well worth his $7.

Remember, too, that the money we give them in tips is ALL they receive for the week. *That* is their pay.

Hey Kelly and Jen (and anyone else that knew I was doing Wii Fit) ... Fair warning ... DO NOT get the Jillian Michael's Wii fitness program. It's horrible!!! I hate it.

The one called "My Fitness Coach" doesn't use the balance board, but it's a good one. I like it a lot.

What is so horrible at the Jillian Michael's program? I went to bed last night and forgot to set my alarm clock to wake up early to Wii. I guess I will try again tomorrow. :rotfl:

Thanks for the info. In addition to candy have you heard of any other treats that folks give them? Not that I wouldn't give them candy, but traveling with food tends to not be easy from California (damaged, melted, eaten). I heard about giving calling cards. Yes/no? Most of the crew is from another country, right?

I've not heard of anything except candy. That doesn't mean that others don't give other stuff, but I've only heard of the candy.

Yes, most of them are from other countries (over 60 countries are usually represented on the ship), so a calling card might be useful. It might be tough doing for all of the counselors, though. There are a BUNCH of them. I just did the candy and made one drop off for the whole cruise. Does that make sense?
