Hi all :) Just checking in! Guess it's time to start checking out airfare. I wonder if I do better going out of White Plains (avoiding the Jersey week phenom)....Has anyone done that?

Happy New Year to all of our fellow "Halloween Cruisers!" Just thought I would BUMP this thread up a bit and offer a few tidbits in case you may be a newcomer to this thread or haven't actually jumped in full throttle yet.

If you haven't had a chance to visit Kelly's website for our cruise yet, please do so. It can be found at: http://www.mytimepassages.com/cruise09/whoweare.html
She has done a FABULOUS job covering just about everything one needs to know. Two specific points about the website:
1. When you open the page, you will see a list of our SHIPMATES. IF you and your sailing mates are not located on the list PLEASE PM myself or Kelly ASAP and we will see to it that you are added.
2. Click on the left hand side of the website entitled "Fish Extenders: Who's Participating." If you ARE interested in participating, once again, PLEASE PM myself or Kelly ASAP and we will see to it that you are added. I already have my fish extender gift planned and am in the process of making them. I hope to deliver LOTS of my designed gifts all over the MAGIC so PLEASE consider joining in the fun.

Well, gotta get ready for work tomorrow : (. On the flip side, one day closer to setting sail with all of you!!!

Happy New Year everyone...

I saw on my countdown counter today that we are UNDER 300 days

I made my reservations for the Radisson shuttle today. You can make them 11 months out so if you are staying there now is the time to get on the early list. We rode at 10:00 am last time and it was the perfect time to arrive and snag the magical number 2.. ;)

Lastly, since we have many new cruisers let me direct you to my web cruise video's.. Yes they are from the Wonder but they will give you a visual look at the ship, etc.

Castaway video is coming soon.

Here is the link... DCL Wonder Video

With sadness in my heart, I must tell you all, we are not going to be able to go on the cruise now. I am in nursing school and my professor has told me that if I take off that week, I will fall too far behind to catch up. So, we will have to plan on another cruise. Probably after I get through school.

:sad1:

I'm between PHL and ACY although could do EWR if I had to...but I can't think that far ahead right now...we're heading off to the 3-night in March (less than 60 days away)...I'll work on airfare for 10/31/09 probably in a couple months. Right now, I think Southwest (PHL) only goes out fo like May or June...

Hi every It has been a while since i posted. Welcome to everyone who has joined. I am so excited less then a year away.

BUMP!

It has been WAY too long since I posted. Thanks Kelly and Susan for spearheading the group planning!!! The website is great! I will send some updated info today. DM and I are flying down (from WA) the day before. We are not sure if we will be staying at the airport or near the port. We will probably be renting a car, so either place will be ok. Is MNSSHP fun for adults? If it is a great Disney thing to do, we will probably stay at the airport and head over to MK for the evening.

We are celebrating DM's birthday by taking the cruise and spending a week at WDW. We are SOOO excited!!!!

Look forward to meeting you all!!!

MNSSHP is AWESOME...We went in '07 and if it weren't for the 3 hours of rain (sigh), we would have LOVED it...We loved it so much that we went again this year and the weather was perfect. I dressed up (Queen of Hearts the first time, Pirate the second)...the shows, parade (headless horseman)...all lots of fun. They only run on certain days though so you'll want to take note of that once the dates are announced (don't think they are as yet for 2009).

Hi Fellow Cruisers!

I will be sailing on this cruise with my wife, 13 yo daughter and 11 year old daughter. This will be our second Disney Cruise. We first sailed on the Magic for a seven Day Western cruise in April 2007. That cruise we originally were booked on the fifth deck with a room with a porthole. Two days before we were set to sail we received a call from our Travel agent that DCL had contacted them and that we were being upgraded. We ended being upgraded to Deck 8 in a deluxe family category 4. We were assigned to cabin 8000 which was the furthest forward cabin. It was a great room.

Our luck was with us that trip, as we were upgraded and then my wife attended the DVC sales meeting and ended winning a $300 shipboard credit which we put towards an upgraded photo package.

My youngest daughter celebrated her 9th birthday on the second day of the cruise.

We ended up buying a piece of Disney with a membership in the DVC before the trip was over.

We will be using our points for this trip to cover mine, and my two daughters fares. My oldest daughter will be turning 15 on the 3rd day of the cruise. This way now both girls will have a special occasion to remember from the two cruises.

We are booked on Deck Seven in a veranda stateroom.

We are just starting to research our travel arrangements for the trip down from NJ. Last Trip we booked airfare through Disney as part of the package and paid an additional fee to fly down the night before and booked and stayed at the Airport Hilton and took the Disney Bus to the terminal Saturday morning.

We are unsure which would be the best option. We are planning on flying down Friday night and weighing our options. We may try to book a room at Disney Friday night and take Disney Transportation from the Airport to DW, and then hopefully be able to arrange transportation to the port from DW on Saturday morning. Another option would be rent a car at the airport and find a hotel near the Port that would provide a shuttle to the port on Saturday.

I will be reviewing this thread to get some ideas as it seems that I have noticed some cruisers that have been on other cruises and seem to have some experience.

One other question that I have would be I know that Disney does special things around Halloween. Does any one know if these would be done on Saturday, day of sailing or would they be doing it on sunday with all the first day activities that have to be handled.

Looking forward to be reading this thread as the days go on.

Hello all,

My wife and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary on 11/3 on this trip. We are transplanted New Jerseans now living in TN. My wife is a retired teacher (26 years) from South Jersey. If you are a teacher or have teached in the Lower Camden County School District or one of the "dissolved districts", especially Overbrook Jr. or Sr., please PM me. I would like to surprise my wife with some friends on our cruise.

Hey fellow Jerseyean!

I haven't begun researching airfare and 'junk' yet, but our plan for all our DIS cruises have been...
We fly down the day before, rent a car (AVIS) and drive over to Cape Canaveral. There's only a couple car agents over there...Avis is one of them. We return the car when we can and they'll take you back to the hotel. We stay at the Radisson at the Port. Call in advance to reserve your spot on the shuttle over to the Port. We do this so that we're among the first checked in and get a good boarding number (we've had 2 and 3 so far). Hoping for the same for the one coming up in less than 3 months. After all...would you rather spend your first day getting to the port or being on the ship and enjoying its amenities? Just my 2 cents... :) When we get off the ship, AVIS picks us back up and we get a car to take back to Orlando. It's cheaper to rent a car for the day than to take the Disney shuttle. Good luck!

Hi everyone... Glad to see we have new cruisers joining us in October :cool1: :cool1: I will get all the PM's and new info added to our website this weekend so we stay up to date.... We are heading to WDW in 40 days so right now I am concentrating on that trip LOL

Hello Everyone!

It is with deep sadness that I post today that we will not be joining you all on this wonderful cruise. We (and our friends) signed up for the fist extender trading, so we will need to remove our names. We have had to reschedule our cruise due to the kids not being able to miss a week of school.

I hope you all have a wonderful time!!

We booked the Radisson for the night before and have callled for our reservation for the shuttle. We are reserved for the 10:00 am shutlle to the port.

:( Bummer!!! But I hear you...I think the reason you'll find so many people from NJ on this cruise is because we're off the whole week!

AWESOME!!! We usually eat at Kelsey's Pizzeria (not necessarily getting pizza although it isn't bad)...it's walking distance from the hotel and it's sort of a tradition for us now. (my niece's name is Kelsey).

By the way...I saw someone mention the fish extender. I'd love to join, please for whomever is tracking that 'stuff'! --- Kendall (girl...will be 6) and Gavin (boy...will also be 6). I'm Dawn and my husband is Kyle.

Does any one have any ideas how the normal Halloween festivities will work on this cruise. With Halloween being the sail away day, there is so much going on that day, ie sailaway party, luggage delivery, muster drill, reservation onboard for palo, spa, etc.

Will they be able to work in the trick or treating, party, costume contests etc.?
