I am spending some time at the office these days organizing my notes and such and came upon the following information for those staying in Port Canaveral. Most of it is from Shirley's thread and is important information. I have done a copy/paste and adding it to my papers.. You just never know when you need this information..

Also, before I forget, I know several of you will not have cars as you are flying in. We will have our personal car and if there is an emergency, or you need to get to a store please don't hestitate to call our room or my cell phone and we will have you covered. If you want my cell phone number, just in case, please send me a PM and I will be happy to share.. If you do have a car, but aren't sure where you are headed, we have a portable GPS so just call and borrow it. I know we would have been lost without it last year in Port Canaveral.

EMERGENCY INFORMATION:

Cape Canaveral Hospital 701 W. Cocoa Beach Cswy (AKA) Hway 520 and phone number is 321-799-7111. The emergency room is located in the back of the hospital on the East side.

ABC Urgent Walk In Clinic is located at the White Rose Shopping Center 275 West Cocoa Beach on Hwy 520, Cocoa Beach, Fla. They just opened this month of November 2008 - Clean and VERY professional. You need no appointments and their hours are from 9AM to 7PM every day.
You can speak to Jennifer at 321-799-7777.

Health First Walk In Clinic is located in Cocoa Beach @105 South Banana River Blvd, Cocoa Beach and phone number is 321-868-8313 - hours are Monday -Friday 8AM to 7:30PM - Saturday 9am to 4pm and Sunday 9am to 1pm - this clinic is located near the South Publix in Cocoa Beach

Another question.... Does anyone know if the "Sports Bar" will have games on Sunday? My dad is concidering finding a bar in Key West to watch the Vikings/Packers game, however if the ship might have it on then he would rather stay on the ship. Any thoughts?

As many of you know from chats, you will find my husband in Diversions often. Well, it is a cruise, maybe not as much as I think, but I think he will always be up for a group gathering for a game.

What is your best packing tip???

Pack an empty duffle bag at the bottom of a suitcase. Then you always have an extra bag to bring home with all the extras you buy instead of trying to fit it all into the suitcase you came down with.

You need to be very careful, just hunker down and dream of warm waters and dry skies.. Let us know if we can do anything

We stopped at the Walmart and plan on stopping there agian this trip...very easy to find right of the highway from the airport and they have everything! So different then our Wal-Marts here

I always pack ziplock bags comes in handy for wet bathing suits and anything that could leak...twist-ties for keeping my luggage close since you can't lock locks anymore...and I always divide our clothes between all the luggage.

We never even went to Diversions on our last cruise...saw pictures when we got back and had no idea where it was. Plan on visiting it this time at least once though.

You bet. We're not moving. Mark came home early - his 1 hour drive (36 miles) took almost 2 hours because every way he tried to get here was washed out, blocked, or closed off.

Schools are closed until Thursday at least. We'll see what happens tonight. Suppose to get more rain.

Thanks, Teresa! We're staying home - dh is back home after trying for 3.5 hours to get to work and back home. He never made it to work ... Oh well.
