We are now booked for Hawaii. This has always been on our bucket list, but it is such a long flight from the UK. So this will give us a good taste and if we like it, we can always bite the bullet and book a vacation at Aulani.

If you have never been - you will love it..it is beautiful. I have not yet been to Alaska so I am looking forward to that.

Alaska is definitely on our bucket list, too. However, I figured that we would have a better chance to get a second stab at a cruise to Alaska than at a cruise to Hawaii.

We are not new to Disney or Cruising but we are new to the Dis Boards. We are cruising MR 10-2-11. It will be just my husband and I. Thought this would be the best place to check out what is the best things to do on this cruise. We have never done the MR. It will be our 36th Wedding Anniversary.

Yes, we are booked on the Wonder cruise to Hawaii in April 2012. As soon as the first rumours about this came out, I said that if this materializes, I want to be on it. When it was actually announced, I temporarily got cold feet. The cost kind of scared me and I wondered if I should hold off until this cruise for the extra stateroom credit. DH suggested the night before booking opened for Gold and Platinum members that we should try to book this the next day and I instructed our travel agent. She got us a category 11C with a perfect location (deck 2 forward right by the elevator lobby) at opening prices. I am so excited about this cruise.

Over the next couple of days I will update the first posts with the new cruisers and also update the spreadsheet. I will then send out the link to everybody who has confirmed that they are on this cruise.

Thanks for the information. I will update the spreadsheet tomorrow. As for the Scavenger Hunt, I posted an info post on this on page 1. I don't know if you have checked out the first two pages, but most of them are info posts. If you have any questions about the Scavenger Hunt that are not covered in there, just ask.

As for the t shirt, I intend to get a black t shirt with the logo that I will wear for embarkation. I don't think I can get DH to do the same, but that is fine, too.

Is it October yet?! :goodvibes

I wish.

We have been lucky. I managed to go on three cruise in the last 12 months. We did a 11 night Med cruise on the Disney Magic at the end of April last year. This was kind of a last minute decision as some fantastic rates came up. This turned into an adventure. A week before we were supposed to fly to Barcelona, a volcano eruption and the resulting ash cloud grounded all the flights in the UK and in much of Europe. With 3 days to go, it looked like that this would go on for at least another week so I booked some extra vacation time and we decided to make our way from our home in the north-west of England to Barcelona by train and ferry. I got a bonus day at Disneyland Paris out of this. The cruise itself was absolutely amazing.

In September, we did a Transatlantic on the Disney Magic and then spent 5 nights at Disney World afterwards staying at Bay Lake Tower. While we were on that cruise, we booked the Panama Canal cruise on the Disney Wonder for January. This was just the cruise. We had to fly in one day early and spent one night at Animal Kingdom Lodge and flew straight back home when we arrived in Los Angeles.

For this cruise, we will have 6 nights before the cruise and 4 nights after at Disneyland. We will stay at Grand Californian.

As to making friends, I am hoping that this thread will pick up a bit and we get the chance to chat and get to know each other before the cruise. This was originally planned as a reunion cruise. A bunch of us who were originally booked on this did a Western Caribbean together in 2009. Everybody apart from us jumped ship so I am definitely hoping to make some new friends on here.

By the way, when I did the Panama Canal Cruise, we stopped at Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. I am doing a trip report for this if you are interested. The Puerto Vallarta installment has been posted and I am hoping to post the Cabo San Lucas day over the weekend. You can find this here:

Corinna,

Thanks,
Clarice

Hi Clarice,
not at all. I have to head to work now, but I will pull up my confirmation when I get back home tonight.

Corinna

Thanks for all the info. My husband and I would love to do the Med Cruise. It is hard for me to get that much time off in one stretch from work. Maybe some day. My husband liked the T logo. I told him everyone was wearing them. No option. Oh well. Hopefully this cruise will be a bit less eventful than your past adventures. Impromptu adventures always make good memories though. We usually do two vacations a year, one where we take our grandchildren (We have 4) and or family and one with just the two uf us. I can't wait to take the grand kids on a cruise. Our son is getting married and we are giving them either a Disney Cruise or a week at Disney's Hawiian Resort for thier honeymoon. Probably more info than you wanted to know. Sorry

We are paying $3,732.22 for two adults in a category 11C inside cabin. It is $1800 per person plus taxes, port fees, etc.

Absolutely not. It is great to just chat and find out more about the people we will be cruising with.

If you ever get the chance to do a Med cruise, do it. I never had an interest in this kind of cruising, but it was truly amazing. I normally prefer itineraries with plenty of sea days and the Med cruise was very port intensive.

We have another vacation coming up in just over two weeks. This time we won't cruise, but will have a beach holiday in Dubai. I work for a Dubai based airline and I can fly for free. We ordered some snorkelling gear today and we will try this out in Dubai and will also bring it on this cruise.

Corinna

Wow! You guys are well traveled. I can't wait to hear some of your stories. We have never been to Europe but would love to go. I am going to the Dominican Republic in June, that will be interesting. What shore excursions are you guys doing. My husband has health issues so we cannot do anything to vigorous. I love snorkeling but not certain if DH will be able.

We did a whale watching and snorkelling tour to Marietas islands in January at Puerto Vallarta. They offer the same tour minus the whale watching in October and we are very tempted to do this again. In Cabo I am hoping to do trainer for a day at the dolphin facility near the port and DH probably will do another snorkelling trip. We have no plans for Mazatlan, but if we end up going there, we might do a beach day.

Corinna,

Thank you for your info again..We will try to make it to Hawaii cruise too...

It would be great if you could join us for this.
