We are planning our first trip to WDW. What can anyone tell me about this week? Any suggestions for a family of 4 with a 4 year old and 2 year old. TIA

I was going to suggest MNSSHP (mickeys not so scary halloween party) but i am not sure if your kids are to young!

We went this past october from the 4th-9th. Besides the weather being very unseasonably hot it was awesome!! We had very little to no wait on just about every ride. I would definitely recommend this time of year! Plus you will be beating the Columbus Day Crowds :)

we went that week in 07 and other than it being hotter than the sun (another 'unseasonably' ;) hot fall) and pouring rain every day (not all day just random down pours) so very humid, it was a lot of fun.

Really, it was a great week to go, I just want to warn you that the weather is harsh then but very worth dealing with the weather for the ease of getting through the parks with little ones.

Pack your ponchos and extra shoes/socks and you'll be all set. :goodvibes

I would suggest the halloween party as well. My youngest ones fell asleep about halfway through the party but they did see the parade and did TOT'ing. If you made sure the kids slept in and had a restful day, they would probably make it through a good portion of the party.

We were there (for our 1st trip) during those dates last year and yes it was miserably hot & humid, we had fun but I would've preferred to be there when it was 70 for a high & no humidity ~ does that possibility exsist??

Yes May! That's when we go. LOL

I brought my 2y/o to dinsey last year and we had a blast. Generally speaking rides like Peter Pan's Flight, Snow White, Its a small world and Dumbo the Flying elephant where big hits. ALso the meet and greats with the characters is fun for youngins. I also took my little one on Pirates of Caribbean, which i was a little concerned about at first, but he loved it.

Some of the roller coasters have a 40in Height requirement so you can count those out right away. One thing I did, which was a big help and i would strongly recomend, was ask guest services for a guide on Enjoying disney with children 5 and under. Just ask them. They will know what you are talking about.

As for that weekend, I am not sure what special advents will be occuring, but you will be able to find out which activities would be suitable for your children's ages. Good luck. Enjoy your trip!!!

You may be able to get Free Dining during your trip. Last year we checked in on Oct. 1st and had Free Dining for 2 weeks.

The food and wine festival will be in Epcot. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party will also be on at least once while you are there. The park closes early for the party, so if you don't have tickets you will have to leave MK by 7pm. The Halloween party is fun, my niece enjoyed it both years. We took the day of the party off from the parks and the day after the party also. We go for 2 weeks and can take more time off from the parks.

I think last year it may have rained once or twice. It was quite a bit cooler than our September trip and also dryer. We like October better for the temperature. I found it a bit more crowded than September was.

This depends on the child. All but one of my kids were 40"+ at age 2. ;) The 4th one finally made 40" at age 3. My 6yr old was tall enough for Mission Space at age 4 and made height at Rock n Roller coaster at age 5.
