Hope everyone had a great weekend. DS has been sick for the past week, so we just stayed at home and kept things low key. Can't believe that it's going to be August already Summer sure did fly by...we'll be on that boat before we know it

Hi guys. I don't get on here very often, but I think about this thread often. I tried to book excursions/Palo/spa ressies and have been soooooo frustrated. The online reservation site is obviously not working. Anybody have ideas on what the alternative route would be?


Also, who's in charge here.

JK! I was wondering if there is a plan in place for celebrating a Dis trick-or-treat night on the ship. I've heard nothing but negatives about DCL ToT'g, but only positives for the Dis'rs that have done this. 90 days out...it's getting closer!

I'll be checking in a lot more often now that it's this close and I definitely want to be in on ToT'g for the kids.

Just wanted to add a CONGRATULATIONS to Cassie - great job!!!

Also, as far as school goes - the policy that we have in our family is that the kids will only do the work while on vacation if they don't get marked absent from school during that time. It's only fair, in my opinion. Our daughter's elementary school won't agree to it, so we just don't agree to making her do the work. It hasn't been a problem not doing the work. They get plenty of educational, including cultural, experiences when vacationing. It's just not worth the frustration of trying to play "catch-up" when we get back home - and forget about trying to get them to do the work while on vacation! We're too busy having meaningful experiences that are much more valuable than Math and Language Arts worksheets.

Its a late addition, but I am wearing a full length gown for formal night and a short black dress for semi-formal. DD will wear a "princess pink" gown I ordered from butterflyxc - they have an ebay store and saw the dresses in another Dis'ers signature line. Very cute and very inexpesive. I am definitely wearing a wench outfit for pirates night so I am guessing entire family will dress up. DH will not wear a tux so he is also going the suit/slacks and tie route. DH is also in on the cigars and beer. But stay off my private deck aft on 7!! JJ
that just means the party is closer to my room!! Y'all can knock on your way by!!

Not booking excursions...gonna do the paradise point tram, maybe the butterfly farm, bling bling shopping and snorkeling. DD will not quite be 6 so her age precludes us from alot but she wants to try snorkeling.

OK-gotta get ready for a parents meeting....why did I volunteer to coach 6 and under soccer again......?????? Cheri can you help me out....

coaching youngers is relatively easy: yell "go", "run", "good job", "put it in the goal", put it in the goal","Score!!!!(you idiot!) Just kidding.

And then take everyone out to a pizza place that serves good drinks! This last part is the most crucial. But, you've coached before, so you know that.

As for that topless bar... I'll bring lot's of cash. I would never have the nerve to do anything like that! no pictures, no proof.. and even then it could be an evil twin...

In reading the posts this evening, it looks like there may be some more interest in the DIS t-shirts for our cruise. So far I only have my family and one other (tinkerbell 80) confirmed for shirts. The only information that I have to have right now is the number of shirts that you would like to order and in what sizes. The lady that I am ordering these from has a website that you will be able to order from that accepts Paypal if you are intersted. You may also contact her by phone. She will also accept, Visa, MC and personal checks. Once the shirts are ready, I will contact each family individually with the ordering information. Ok, I am in need of some help! I am stupid. I tried to book my ressies online but didn't book through dcl, I booked through a travel company so how do I do it? Or, can I just call DCL and do it? Also, does the cruise have to be paid in full or just 90 days out? I need to book palo and my excursion! AAHHH!!

The reservation has to be paid in full--and you have to be 90 days out for repeat cruisers (and not at 12:01 a.m.--it has to be the next morning around 7:00 a.m. or later)
You can still view your reservation online and make these as long as you have your DCL confirmation number.

Actually, the DCL online reservation system is being changed effective our sailing. There's a notice *pop-up* on the reservation page that explains this. Any day now it will be up and running. In the meantime, excursions can be booked by phone; however, Palo, spa, and Flounder's babysitting will not be up and running until the system is working (any day now). This is verbatim from DCL and also there's a notice on the website stating they will not accept phone reservations for anything but excursions.

Bummer, huh???

Okay..so let me run through this one time so I am ready to go at 75 days out. At 75 days out, I can:

a) make reservations for Palos
b) make reservations for all excursions
c) make reservations for cabana massages and spa
d) register my son for the kid's club

At this point, can I make my son's parasailing reservation as well or is that something I can wait to do.

What else? Am I missing something. I can't believe 75 days is almost here.

I'd say that's about right, Barb, and yes, you can make the parasailing ressie too...
We parasailed on CC 2 years ago and it really was a wonderful experience. I loved every minute of it.

But I do have one little pet peeve


It's Palo, not "Palo's".

Sorry to be such an arrogant little twit, but that always bugs me. Please don't take it personally! It has nothing to do with you of course, but I have this nasty, annoying habit of pointing out to people that the restaurant is indeed called "Palo". It's not owned by someone named Palo, therefore it is never "Palo's"

Just... Palo.



Please feel free to smack the poop out of me for bringing up such pointless matters to you.


P.S. - For those who might ask, a 'Palo' is that pole they use to push them boats around in Italy, FYI.
