Hey...gots me a package today.....

Now ... the Pomegranate Martini ..... me want one ...sounds yummy.

Here it is...

I don't use fresh Pom juice, I use flavored syrup (like for coffee) you can get it at World Market (used to be Cost Plus)? And yes, thus the little plastic card burning trip.

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
2 oz. Absolute Citron vodka OR white tequila
1 oz. Cointreau liquor
Cup of ice
Optional: Splash of sparkling water
Optional: Squeeze of lemon

Shake ingredients in a shaker and put in chilled martini glasses. Put pomegranate fruit into glass as garnish.


Pretty much 2:1 on the vodka to pom flavoring. You can substitute Triple Sec for the Cointreau. No likey the sparkling water but do like the lemon. I am thinking sparkling wine maybe - a nice fruity one? gotta try that.

Enjoy. Now I must go, the little darling is asking for dinner.....Geez.

well....yesterday's Cowboy game was just WACK!!!!....craziest game..still can't believe we won.....I think I screamed and yelled more at that game than any others lately....was kinda cathartic in a way though.....kinda a stress reliver....got to scream...no one cared...

Sink in kitchen el backo uped-o....have American Home Shield...but they won't come until THURSDAY!!!! ...so I can call my own plumber and pay $2-300...or I can wait until Thursday and pay $35 ...anyhoo...got me outta cooking dinnah...don't wanna mess up a whole bunch of dishes I can't wash. New Chinese place opened up down the street..went there.

Am trying out new punishment fer the Pookster....it's called the consequence bag.....It is filled with stuff like..."no library this week"..."no play date this week"...."no candy/snacks/etc" today"...."no TV today"...."go to bed 30 min early"...."go to bed 60 min early"....well...you get the idea...you's guy's are bright peeps!!!!....Ifin she is naughty, instead of just a time out (which she doesn't seem to care too much about anymore)...she has to pick something out of the naughty bag....that way instead of saying..."gotta go to my room...big deal"...she DOESN'T know what it might be...don't know ifin it will work, but feeling a little crazed lately. And for those of you who think..."well...there is that little thing called spanking"....hear ya...but I have a few of my own issues with that, and my dad would...well...nevermind, let's just leave it as I have some issues with that. Also takes some of the pressure offa me so that I don't over-react and have the punishment not fit the crime...not that she still won't get the occasional time out - this is mostly for smaller infractions...but, we'll see how it goes. If anyone has any other great ideas, I'm all ears. Every kid has that one thing that they really love, and with Saralinda, it's all about the candy and the snackage!! I think losing her snacks after dinner makes her sadder than a time out. Maybe I should add "no slurpee" to the bag too...she loves them as well. I am happy to report though that I have broken her of that running to room and slamming the door bit ..homey don't play that.....that one was getting on my very last nerve....

Tim finally put some lights up in the living room anyway...don't think he will do them outside this year. I think Saralinda kinda shamed him into doing the one's in the house. Did the old puppy dog look..."daddy....why can't we have some christmas in the house....why can't we have any lights like last year...why can't we...."..He looks at me!!! I'm thinking (but didn't say it)...Don't look at me....I didn't tell her to say that. She's a kid...she wants her lights!!! Anyhoo...he did put them up.

Mailed Tim's Secret Santa present today....and mailed mine last week...mine is supposed to arrive for the person sometime between Tues-Wed...and Tim's they said should get there on Thursday (but is not guaranteed at this point they said).

I am the pack rat of the family, and Saralinda has inherited that I am afraid....I can't stand to get rid of stuff..I blame my dad....yet another one of those issues with my dad I am afraid, but I will spare you all the details.....I don't care ifin I haven't used it for 2 years...if it has sentimental value....or ifin it was my mom's......although I will have bouts where I will go in and just throw a whole bunch of stuff away. I mean don't get me wrong, I am not like that poor woman I saw on Oprah a couple of years ago, where she LITERALLY wouldn't throw ANYTHING away...she had stuff all up and down all her halls....she would wash the trays the food was in from the TV dinners and keep them.....UGGGHHH!!! Not that bad....but packrat...yes, I am.

Still have not done the dang blasted cards!!!!..oh well....as Scarlett always say's...

I have not "laid eyeballs" directly on Beano, however, I was just reading the thread started by Pooh somebody. It's "For the Love of.." blah blah blah...Troll posting if ever there was.

Ok- my secret santa box was mailed from Dallas, TX. So I am guessing Tenor, Tim or Miss Judit by the luck of the draw is my secret santa.

I am hoping Troy Aikman or Moose Johnston is in that box. They won't be comfortable by now so maybe I should go cut that tape off!!

I may be the mommy, but that doesn't mean that either one believes I am in charge.
Since I am forever calling one by the other's name ("I am NOT Timmy!"), I don't think they pay much attention to names. Besides, even though this is a fairly big house, they always know where to find me. Kids never need you until you are on the phone, in the bathroom or sitting down for the first time that day. Some kind of radar they are born with.

Hey tenor, I like the "bag" idea. Timeouts stopped working pretty quickly in our house. I like the uncertainty involved. Good job.

Will mail my SS gift tomorrow! Finally got all of the pieces together.

Sean - I need both faucets in my kitchen replaced. And San Diego is a lot warmer than NY right now ... no snow.

On the Alaska vs. Med thread someone posted a link that shows 2007 as Med cruises I'm thinkin' reunion cruise? Huh? Huh? C'mon .... 'posed to be 8 stops so it has to be at least 10 days (me thinks) - Just think of the VIDEO that could come from a cruise like that!

I also read the french tourism board thread. And the subsequent blasts from people who "won't step foot on French soil" blah blah blah....I am already on the list for the med cruises. GO SUELLEN!!

OK- I gotta vent.

DH goes to Chicago via United Airlines.

DW (thats me) and DD want to take bubble baths late this night to relax. No hot water. OK - garden tub filled up with lovely bubbles but wanted to top it off with hot...no hot. Turned on shower to see if hot...no hot.

Now freezing. Run to DD bathroom, which is directly over heater of hot water in garage. Not hot. But not freezing. Wash hair. Baby shampoo sucks but my hair smells nice. DD is freezing. Turn heater in house up to 70 degrees.

We Californians like it warm.

No hot water. Call DH in Chicago. It's midnight there. He has me freezing in robe go to garage...not warm and look at hot water heater. I see flame....no hot water.

WHAT IS UP WITH THAT!?

To make it worse. Hang up with husband to comb out rather ratty hair as washed very quickly with not hot water and cruddy baby shampoo. Locate no more tangles spray. (a staple in our household) Open brush drawer to find wide toothed comb. No comb. Not only no comb, no vent brush, no bristle brush and no round brush for blowing dry of wet cold hair.

Now I ask you...where did all four brushes go? I can see misplacing one. Maybe two on a bad Monday. But all four grooming implements!? How does this happen? I have gremlins. And ratty hair. I am going to find wine and my warm bed.

Tomorrow I get to figure out where my kitten has dragged my brushes to and apparently call a plumber. Can you say baseball cap day!?

THANKS!!!! Wish you lived near me too!!! Tim is good at fixing small things around the house, but when it comes to major appliances or plumbing or most car work..umm....errrrr....errrrumma rum... ..can you say useless???...say it, say it, please say it....me get in trouble ifin i say it...Well...that sounds a little too harsh..he's still on my list right now though and not totally outta dog house....but you know what I mean...he has his talents but fixing major thangs jest aint one of em.

Man....that OP with name of pooh....doesn't deserve to have the name of anything Disney...put in my 2 cents as well...there's a shocker...so unlike me to but into other threads...feel certain that it will probably be locked soon....maybe this person just started something inflammatory to stir things up...or get attention....or to try and be funny er sumptin. Failed miserably though...very funny the OP has not answered back though to anything everyone else has said. I mean ifin we all's couldn't moan, groan, and complain ever once in awhile...
