That's a very good question, but hard to answer because obviously you don't need much on the ship, pretty much everything except the postage for the stamp if you mail a postcard from Castaway Cay, takes the KTTW card...just depends on how much choppin you plans on doin and how much bling bling ya plans on gettin.

Can someone give me an idea of how much actual cash would be needed? I don't want to bring too much if I don't need it. I tend to "lose" things.

1. I recommend that you figure out how much you want to tip for room service. Last cruise I went on you couldn't add it to your room charge. Room service is free of charge but it is courteous to tip. Some cruisers have tipped with international calling cards before.

2. Estimate how much you will spend at trinket stores in St. Maarten and St. Thomas. Credit cards work great in those locations but a lot of places don't take them. You know yourself so go by what you think you will spend.

3. The last one here is Bingo. Have cash for Bingo. If you are going to play, you will need at least $50 for the big payout day so you can get all the appropriate cards. I have played on every cruise of the 7 so far. You need more if you plan to play other days.

That is all I can think of. Beano might have some other ideas but I think that covers it.

Only other thing that comes to mind is, if you want to pay down your on-board account, you can use cash at Guest Services, that way it doesn't get put on your credit card. And we might get a high-stakes poker game going at the DIS party! j/k
