can someone tell me how the crowds might be. I am used to going at the end of may when it is kind of quiet.

Do you mean the end of October. You have different dates than the end of May.

It might be busy because Teacher's conventions are the last week of October. But you will not be fighting the heat and humidity. Start reading the Theme Parks strategy boards-there are many threads on almost anything you want to know about. Especially the threads that remain on the top of the column.

My family and I have been twice during Halloween time at WDW. Both times the crowds were low and almost everything was open and working ( they start shutting down some rides for mantainance ).
We have gone both times to the very scary WDW party and enjoyed it. When our kids were smaller they both dressed up and got to ride and see characters in costume ( daughter in belle and son in buzz ). The cost is alittle high but you get alot of perks: limited people, really cool theme park changes and music piped in, candy stations around the park for the kids, hot cocco and cookie for everyone around the park and late park night with fireworks.

Travis,

That's a great time to go! We did it in 2001, and although it may have been due to 9/11, the crowds were very low for the most part. I wish we could still do it, but my kids are now too old to pull from school.

The "Not So Scary" Halloween Party is fun, too, although I found that a bit crowded. If you have younger kids, though, it's a great trick-or-treat opportunity!
