The first time I called I got the "technical difficulties" message and then it hung up on me! So I called again and just choose the last option (I think it was the "it's something else" option ) and then waited about 5 minutes before I got to a live person.
After 20 minutes of continual calling, I finally got through. I am now on hold....15 minute wait time, so they say. I espcially like how the automated voice tells you that you can make reservations on-line now 180 days in advance! Really? I seriously would have LOVED to that...oh, about an hour and half ago! I only have to get one reservation....at CRT, so we will see how it goes...at least I am listening to WDW music now.
This isn't a "peak". What happened this morning is not that much different from a "Denial of Service" attack -- an organized effort by a group of web users to target a specific web service all at the same time, so that it results in a failure of the service. The only thing missing, that would be needed to make it a Denial of Service attack, is malicious intent.
I think it that would be way too complicated. I've already seen three different interpretations posted of what that would even mean, and so essentially everyone would think it would work differently, and I'm sorry to say that verbose explanations of any staggered introduction would be "over the head" of many typical web users.
What makes you think that they didn't? My best guess is that they knew, and realized that there was no good way to make this switch, so they just accepted that there will be a few days of confusion and consternation, and then everything would eventually work itself out. The restaurants would still get filled; this won't affect that.
The lady I talked to said that CRT was showing no availability. But she thinks it's because the system is swamped (or it's not inputed into the system yet). She said when it comes online (for us) then it'll be availabe when we call??
Got through but no CRT for any of my trips. The system is down for CRT....The CM was GREAT, she even tried emailing he supervisor to see if she could help do it=NO GO!! It is down!!
