So Simon, what's the story behind THAT statement?![]()

OK Kim, here's the story!
As you can see by my signiature I used to be a cast member on the internation program at WDW. When I was 18 in 2002 I moved to WDW to work at Epcot as a merchie (merchandise employee) in the UK Pavilion at Epcot.
My Mum had been a member of the Diss for some time, and many of the DISers used to come by and see me and say hi. It was fun for me as it was great to meet people who had especially come to find you and pass on messages from home. Sometimes DISers from the UK would bring me chocolate from home which I missed, and infact one time I was even bought a ostcard from a lovely DISer to send to my Grandma back in England to let her know how I was doing. There was also one particular DISer (Zurg) who came by and included me on his website- he and his family were allot of fun! (http://www.badshoe.com/simon.htm)
To cut a long story short everyone was fab and I did meet up several times with DISers, sometimes at dessert parties, once for drinking around the world (of course I was underage so I was drinking Diet Coke!), Kimonos, even the Adventurers club. It was allot of Fun.
The was one particular webmaster, Penny and her Husband Simon (I know another Simon!), and one day I spent much time talking with them in the UK Sports shoppe. For those who know the UK Pavilion well, you know it is full of stereotypical merchandise from the UK. Well, we also sold Jumbo tennis balls found in Wimbledon. Usually they are sold so the fans can get the players to sign the balls at the side of the court. Well, we sold them for a mere $34!!! The Sports shoppe was also full of other overpriced tat (I can say that now I am no longer a cast member!), and invariably people would only use this shop as a walk was throught to HRC or the Toy shop. However, every man and his dog used to crack the gag at the tennis balls, "wow, I wish I could see the racquet to go with that ball!" It just seemed to be the instant reaction.
Now for a Cast member at WDW, you have to act like this is the first time you have ever heard the comment and actually play along to make the guest feel good. Please don't get me wrong, all the guests I met we're great, and even 5 years on even some certain special guests remain in your memory, however, by the 500th time of hearing the gag it isn't funny anymore!
So this Particular day Simon and Penny we're in the Sports Store with me for probably over an hour, and must have heard this joke way too many times to find it funnny!
I signed up to the Dis, and obviously made reference to it somewhere, and there you go, the tag fairy picked up on it! I must have only had about 2 posts at the time.
So now many years on I still have a pathetically low post count- but trust me, I read allot of the posts, I am just not a big poster. So maybe I do hold the record for the lowest posts with a tag by the fairy, but I met many great DISers over my 14 months at WDW. (Also bare in mind that I had vertually no internet access during my year at WDW).
So that's it, lol.
And thanks Kim for bringing it to my attention, cos it was so long ago, I didn't even realise it wasn't me that wrote it in some profile somewhere! lol
Anyway, enough of my antics- time for bed!
But with the room assigned the countdown is well and truly on!!!
