Hi Tink! We are considering doing the river safari. I think it sounds like it might be fun and not too long either (3 - 3.5 hrs), giving us some time to explore if we want. My 7 year old actually seems excited about this one!:)

I have to check this out sounds fun. Thanks I can't wait:-)

Now wait a minute ....Aren't we supposed to be counting down. :lmao:

Only 254 days to go. :)

We have 11 inches of snow this am.

Thinking of the Caribbean today. Instead of pushing sand, guess I'll push snow.

I have a feeling that shoveling with a pina colada in hand will not be the same!
Sending warm thoughts every ones way!:cool2:

Upon hearing about the ice storm, I tried to rebook for the 3 day cruise tomorrow. It was $6500 for 3 nights. :scared1: Thank you for the well wishes. I'm not going to be able to get home until Sat.

Thought about you this morning as they were showing Frozen-lanta on the news. Stay safe.

Hometown: Waterloo, Iowa
Stateroom: 9509
Dinner Seating: Late
Celebrating: Halloween. Hoping for a Not So Scary, Spooktacular time!

Just saw that you have a three yo daughter cruising with you as well. We are just curious how you plan on utilizing the kids club/nursery on board. We are a little worried that kids club may be to much for Ella, but the nursery may be too baby.

I think that was my initial room. Glad you were able to get it. Welcome to the group

Headed home from Yacht club. It's the first time I stayed there. Probably not the last. It was so quiet. Nico had a blast and I think cruising is now his preferred method of traveling. Nico was invited to the grand cayman islands to play soccer with Swindon, this Monday. He's going with his coach because airfare was insane this last minute. He leaves 6 am Monday morning. I guess this is why we home school;)

Good morning all. I just wanted to say that I am glad that so many new people are joining us, but at this time I am no longer able to keep up with who wants to do what with the cruise. To the new cruisers, if you are interested in doing activity/activities please message on here since I will not be able to keep reading all post. I am Corey and one of the Admins for the Facebook boards, Sarah is the other admin. We have a few things in the works for this cruise. We are doing a FE Gift Exchange and a ToT, Jennifer is planning those (it is easier to get her on the here (nenner1). Roll call is being organized on the Disboards by (Ron-Jennifer husband (livingis2me). A door decorating contest (not sure if or who will be planning this right now). A Roming Mickey (Myself and Sarah). A cabin crawl (Poker and non poker) (Myself, Cindi). A Meet and Greet (the night before) (Myself and Monica). A Meet and Greet for the 2010 Cruisers (Not sure if or who is still planning this or if this is going to take place). Group Excersions in ports (Not sure who will be planning this). For some of the things you will see not sure who is planning is because the people planning these things are no longer on this cruise for different reasons. As soon as I know I will update. If you are interested in any of these please let the appropriate people or person know.Thank you for your cooperation.

 What are you trying to say. I don't see on here where anyone is asking you to keep up with these things. That is what the first post of this thread is for. That is why I'm not a fan of keeping up with the Facebook page. It's kind of hard to keep up with what's going on because it get buried in the conversation. And conversations get deleted...

Sooo whatever you were getting at, ok I guess :confused3....

Welcome! I've added you to the roll call. :goodvibes

Ron

It looks as if the roll call is up to date. If you don't see yourself on it and you'd like to be post here so it can be updated.

With that said, would someone be willing to take over the roll call from here on out?

Thanks,
Ron

... With that said, would someone be willing to take over the roll call from here on out? .....

Oh no! Are we losing our leader. Are you still coming?
Hope everything is OK.

Oh wait, .... I know why you want to retire. Hard to keep all your other cruises straight, like sweetlovin'. :lmao:

Seriously though. What exactly does this entail? Is it a permanent position or will you want your position back. lol. How would one update first post w/o your password? How much time aboard, if any, will need to be dedicated to duties? Are you just asking for someone to welcome newcomers and update first page with their info? Etc., etc. ? ? ?

We appreciate all your time and expertise committed to this amazing thread.

Thank you. :worship:

I just want to confirm you are aware of the issues adding any pax at a later date. Most feel you should add them initially, or well before sail date, then remove them if not sailing prior to your 90 day, PIF date.

Adding a pax later DCL considers not only cabin capacity, but also the # of kids in several age ranges for the kids club and nursery. IOW they may not allow you to add your 2 y/o when the number of nursery age kids aboard reaches a certain limit.

Yes, DCL has limits of the # of kids aboard in each age group.. :lmao:
Of course most of us would find this # astronomical, and it may be for the Lab, but not so much for the nursery.
They also have limits to the #'s in each lifeboat station. Both of these can affect the ability to add a pax to a current cabin/ressie.

If there may be a chance for your 2 y/o to sail, add them NOW, IMO. You can always remove them for free prior to PIF date, well .... sort of.
Actually concierge deposits are non refundable so ..... that's one of the twists here.

Will DCL apply the 2 y/o deposit $ to your final payment if they end up not sailing? Do you have plans to sail again on DCL? That deposit could be applied to a future cruise in any cat. Would they accept that possible credit as a deposit for a future cruise booked onboard(OBB)? The deposit should only be around $150. Call DCL or your TA IMO.

Truly trying to help and not complicate things. :duck:
I know it would be disappointing to say the least, if your youngest was unable to be added at the last minute.

HTH

I agree with all of this. If you think the baby is a possibility, add them now. That being said, I am a huge fan of lovingly ditching the kids and running off somewhere. It's way fun :thumbsup2

Do it now while you can ;) Once they are older, they realize you go to all these cool places and they will all insist on going with you. :rolleyes1

Ron, I was just letting the new cruisers know what is going on and the places where I said I don't know or something is because the ppl planning those are no longer going on the cruise, and I was asking that ppl send me a private message on the things I am organizing cause things are getting really busy here and I can't keep going post by post on here or on Facebook. I am sorry for the confusion

I'm no leader, Bear. Just a guy with the first post.:goodvibes I'm just focussing on a lot of other things right now. So the new roll call could be kept in any post on this thread. If someone would like to take over, they can make a new page or just cut and paste my old one. Put it on any post you'd like and I can make a notation on the first post to go to post # ??? for all updated info and roll call. Or we can even close this one and start a new thread with the person who'd like to take it over. ::yes::

Thanks for looking out! I figured it may be harder or impossible to add him at the end but my TA must be misinformed because she told me it would be easier to add him back on. And yes, we were charged his 120 non refundable deposit already and were told we can apply it if we decided to add him back. The plan is to not take him if we can help it. Although I feel terribly guilty for not taking him and only bringing his older sister. Will I lose more if I have her go ahead and add him back on and then take him off by PIF date? Isn't there a tier on how much they keep of the deposit the closer you get to sail date?
