Yes, Idar Oberstein is about 40 miles away from where we live. What have you done there, if I'm allowed to ask?

I was an American Army Officer stationed at Baumholder. I absolutely loved my time in Germany. My wife and I hope to get back some day for a visit. There's still a lot of places in Europe I'd like to visit. Mainly the eastern part of Spain, Italy and Austria (specifically Vienna and Salzburg).

Great one on board, anyone else??

I'm all for it. As I've mentioned this is a surprise for the kids, so it will be nice for my daughter to maybe meet a few girls her age at the start.

Meredeth- you are simply going above and beyond. Personally, the FE is plenty in terms of spreading a little magic and pixie dust. Anything beyond that is much too generous. :thumbsup2

Knowing that you wrote this makes it so worth it. And what a great surprise. How old is your daughter?

DH and I are on board...we'll be at the meet and greet...Promenade is probably best...the Goofy pool may be crowed and more noisy, but we will meet where ever everyone wants to meet.

Hektor, once you get your cabin # just post it here and I will update the list. Also, give me a list of everyone sailing with you, and you have kids, if you could let me know their ages, it would help (more age appropriate gifts).

I will update the list here very soon. If you still have not given me your cabin #, either PM me, or leave it on the thread so that I can make sure everyone knows where everyone is.

I also wanted to get a feel for what everyone thinks about splitting the list in half, or does everyone want to do every cabin. It doesn't matter to us, I just know with the economy, things are getting tough for people. Leave your thoughts here and we can decide as a group. DH and I are up for whatever the group wants to do, I just wanted to get a feel for how everyone else was thinking.

See you soon!!

For those of us coming to the meet, shall we all wear green leis to set ourselves apart? I think that is the traditional Dis Boards theme ;). That will make for a cute picture, also.

I am fine with splitting the list in half, or for keeping it as one. We will go with whatever the group decides. For us it's less of a money thing, but more of a room in the suitcase thing :lmao:.

Jennifer

Okay...I've updated the FE list. Please look at the list and if you don't see your cabin # listed and you have your cabin #, get it to me. I know several people still have GTY cabins and don't have the cabin #'s yet. Also, if your name is on the list and you no longer wish to participate, let me know, and if you do want to participate, and I have don't have you on here, let me know too. Anyone left off is an oversite on my part and not on purpose. I've tried to keep up with the thread and make sure I haven't missed anyone, but I could have and I apologize in advance if I missed anyone.

Hope all is well and can't wait to see everyone!!!:woohoo:

We can meet with the group!:thumbsup2

And I dont mind doing the whole list for the FE if everyone else wants too since we have less than 20 cabins.

I've been checking the website everyday...can't wait to get my cabin assignment!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an upgrade!!:goodvibes

Looks like we're getting more and more people for the meet and greet YAY!!!!!!!!!!

I'll look into ordering some lime green leis for our group and possibly mailing them to everyone or i'll look for the information and pass it along and everyone can order their own.

What do you guys think?

On our last cruise we bought some lime green leis at Party City for a couple of dollars. Of course I can't find them now ;). But that is a great place to check for inexpensive ones.

Hello to all, since it's getting close to sailing and nearing the cut off date for FE exchange and our group name I see that "HallowWonder cruise" is winning with 11 votes.
