October 25, 2009 4-Night Wonder Roll Call

laniesmom33...wow our little girls sound very similar. My DD Jaden is very shy, but gets used to people after a few hours. She loves Camp Carnival when we cruise that line, so I know she will just love the kids program on the Wonder! We would love to go to MNSSHP after we debark, we will have to see if we can make that happen, luckily we only live about 45 mins away so we could drive home after.

My cousin recently booked this cruise too!! So now we have 15 people in our party! It is going to be so much fun!! And it is getting harder and harder to keep it a secret, so I think I am going to work the "surprise" into my kids Easter gift!

I am currently booked on a Disney cruise for October 25,2009. Me and my husband and our two kids when we go they will be 7 and 10. It is our first cruise with Disney we have cruised on Carnival 4 other times and our fifth one in December. I love to cruise hopefully we will love Disney as much as all of you. We also are going along with some friends and family who also only have cruised carnival but my cousin Hipps about Disney ( Disney is her home away from home) so were trying it out...

We are all fired up and ready to go on this trip. Although we are WDW Veterans this will be our first Disney Cruise as well as our first DVC Trip! We are so excited about going. DS10 would love to know if there are any other boys out there around his age that will be on the trip.
We too would love to join in the FE fun, I'm pretty sure I get the jist of it so far. By the way there in a MNNSHP that Thursday night after the cruise. My DH messed up and booked return flights on Thursday so we won't be abble to go. I'm sure you'll have plenty of fun in our place though so

We are booked on the cruise too. Alex and Carolyn. A bit more explanation about the fish extenders. We were fortunate to be in the first "fish extender" cruise. One of the disers found a three pocket hanging 'thing' which could be used for mail or misc stuff. It was about 12" wide, 24" long, and has Mickeys on all the pockets. It was at a clearance store and she bought all they had and gave them out to other disers on the cruise. Someone hung it on the message fish next to the cabin door, it fit nicely and became known as a fish extender. Then people who worried it might get taken started using a "fish club" (a plastic wire tie around the cord it hangs by). On subsequent cruises disers started making thier own fish extenders, different shapes, sizes and designs. Some cruises had fish extender contests. The main requirements for a fish extender is it needs to hang from the fish and have pockets (for fish extender gifts). It is amazing how talented some people can be.
Other things disers do is make name badges for everyone, lanyards, t-shirts with cruise logo (on Zazzle or similar site so everyone can order what they want and get it before the cruise), disers meetings before and on the cruise, group pictures (like for pirate night).
If a few people become the ring leaders for the cruise and organize things it helps (we are not ring leaders). The best part of the cruise is that those who want to participate in group activities can, and other times can choose to go it alone.

I finally told my kids we are going, I made it into an Easter Surprise for them! They are both looking forward to it! My daughter Jaden posted a reply in the kids thread, she is hoping to get to know some of your kids before the cruise!

I currently have 2 connecting category 10 secret porthole cabins booked for this cruise, but have decided to go on the 7 day on the 23rd instead. I will be cancelling next week if anyone is interested let you know. Basically these are category 10 for the price of category 8 (with a slightly obstructed view)

Hi everyone!

My 7 year old DD and I will be going on this cruise. We have cruised one other time on Carnival, but this will be our first Disney Cruise. We are very excited!

We live in Orlando and are Disney fans; this cruise is something I've been wanting to do for a while.

We will be traveling with some friends, so I will let them know about the Roll Call as well.

Looking forward to getting to know you all, and definitely count us in for the fish extender exchange.

Hello everyone!! DH and I just booked last night! We are doing Back 2 Back cruises. We had previously booked our 3 day Wonder cruise for Oct 29-Nov 1 and added this one to make it a "7" day Wonder cruise. Does anyone know how the Back 2 Back works (as far as getting both off and back on the ship on Thursday)? I am so excited! It will be our 2nd and 3rd DCL cruise!

We are in for the FE exchange too...we had a blast participating on our last cruise! We did our group meet just before the Sail Away party up on deck 10 (we all met just after the life boat drill). We all just wore flower leis so we could identify each other. Do we want to come up with a cruise name (for like magnets and stuff)? It doesn't matter to me, just a thought. For our 29th cruise the group has come up with the "HalloWonder" cruise. Other suggestions were like "Spooking Sailing", "High Seas Halloween", "Creepy Cruising" stuff like that (since it's close to Halloween).

Anywhoo...can't wait to get to know you guys! Can't wait till our cruise!!

Hi, first time cruiser here. I'll be traveling with my DH, DS (10), DD (6), my mom and mother-in-law (wasn't sure the right abbrev to use for them). My DS will be thrilled to know your son is also 10. Any chance he's into sports? My DS is all about baseball, soccer and football. Also nice to hear there are some girls around my DD's age. She loves making new friends though she starts off being a bit shy.

We might be interested in participating in the FE and/or trick or treating. I still need to read up on some older posts to make sure I fully understand how the whole gift exchange works. Any insider tips would be greatly appreciated.

Yay! I'm glad you're back! Our 3 day that starts the day we get off of this cruise has a pretty active thread. I'm really excited about both cruises. We are up for whatever the group wants to do about a group meet and are in for Fish Extender's too. We just recently got our cabin # (5135). Disney let us keep the same cabin so that we don't have to change rooms on the B2B cruises...so double Yay!!

Yay, glad to see their is some activity on this thread! I'm very OCD when it comes to vacation planning and I feel like I am already behind with this one!

So yeah, lets get this going, I can offer to help with anything but since this is our first Disney cruise I don't know all the ins & out of everything but I'm willing to help with whatever planning or organizing, just let me know what, where & how!

We are definitely interested in the FE and some sort of Trick or Treating for the kids would be fun too!

Hey Cruisers:

We have just booked our second cruise, but it will be our first with kids. We first sailed on the Wonder back in 1999, and here we are back 10 years later with 3 kids in tow. We have a DD 9, DS 2 1/2, and a DS who will be 5 months old in October. (can you see Flounders in our future) We are all so excitied. We have been planning all of our activites, and the kids really want to do everything. Besides the cruise, we are doing the pre-cruise night on Saturday at Carribean resort. We even got a pirate room for the kids. After we get back, we have a night booked at the Wilderness lodge. We alreay have our tickets for the MSNSHP on the 29th. I figure we should have the kids worn out by then.
The kids are very interested in doing FE and some trick or treating as well! I imagine we will have several pirates looking for loot (candy) with us. So what's the cruise name, we really like imanazd idea of the "hallowonder cruise." We look forward to meeting everyone and getting some of those green leis.

Welcome Thumper!! Wow...10 years since you were last on the Wonder...I know you are excited to get back!

I like the idea of a cruise name too, but it doesn't seem to have caught on...if anyone else is interested, chime in.

Okay...I'll start a FE list from what we've got on here so far and list it out. If the list is not correct when I list it, or if I forget someone or someone else decides they don't want to participate, just rattle my chain. I'll try to get the list up within the next couple of days (just need to go thru the posts and list it out (glad it's not like our Oct 29th cruise thread...it's already 25 pages long and a lot to go thru). If you want to PM me your cabin #'s or just list them on here, I'll add them to the list! Very excited to get started!!
