We are non-smokers, easy going, people seem to think we're pretty good company until they realize we owe them money, and we would LOVE to join you in a cocktail or two at the end of the day!
We'd be interested in the ruins too. :-)

:surfweb: pirate:

All you gotta do is say cocktail and I am there too!!! :rotfl:

I am just looking for my dis friends for a little support. I know I have mentioned in the past my DD , Angelina, is a disabled little Angel. The last few days her right leg has swelled HUGE Dr thinks it is cellulitis from a bug bite . She is not responding to the meds and I am freaking out. She is non-verbal and has no way to express what she is feeling . If by the AM it is not much better we will be going to the hospital. It is always something. Thanks for listening......................:sad2:

My thoughts and prayers are with you as well. I'm sure they will figure out what will work. Sometimes there is some trial and error to get even the most common ailments to go away.

I haven't read back through in awhile but are we still ordering shirts?

No, we are not we have decided to make our own off the Logo we were trying to get printed.

We just could not find any one willing to print the DISNEY logo because of copywrite issues.

So if you need the large LOGO emailed to you to create your own iron on let me know.

You can get iron own stuff from wlamart that you just print right out on a regular printer and it owrked out pretty well.

I have pictures of one i tried back when we were tlaking about it and i think it was MOMMY2777 that had done some as well.

They are very easy to do!

Hate to say it dizzi, but see what happens when you when you pull an April Fool's joke.:) It is called Karma.
Sorry you are sick. I am still not 100% from when I was sick maybe the sunshine in Florida will help. Hope you feel better soon.

michelle9343, how is your DD doing today? Hope she is doing better too.

NOT NICE!

DIZZI! So let me get this right - you are still coming on the cruise! Well lets just say that I fell for that one hook, line and sinker. We do have April Fool's Day here but it is very low key and I always forget about it. I had no idea and I really felt sad for you all day! I think I will have to get you back for that one at some point in the future (laxative choccy in the fish extender! :rotfl: - only kidding)

Michelle - Sorry to hear about Angelina, hope she is responding to her meds and feeling better  .

HAHAHAHAHA

That is so awesome!

RELAX and Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Well, Missy and I received our confirmation number and checked the Disney Cruise site and have our stateroom number now (#2081). We are really looking forward to the cruise and having this information makes our anticipation so much more. My neighbor (mommy2777) keeps telling us about her previous experiences on a Disney cruise and has us really excited about the trip. We are also looking forward to meeting our fellow DISboards members! Can't wait till we get to leave!!:yay: :woohoo:  :woohoo: :yay:

Well we are on the same floor but about 2 sections apart from each other
What cabin is Mommy2777?

We might have to have a floor party!!

You will have a blast!!!!!

:confused3 we dont have a room number yet but i know we WILL be on the same floor, and we are tied together with rob and missy so we'll be close im sure. but either way a party ALWAYS a go with me! :jumping1:

We're also on deck 2 - 2106, and CurlyKate is just down the hall from us. Our own floor party could be a possibility!

Michelle9343, hope Angelina is feeling better soon. DS9 had cellulitis in his leg when he was 10 months old, I remember how helpless I felt. And my dad is now dealing with it in his hand, and ended up on IV antibiotics. We thought it was cleared up, but it looks like it might be back. He HATES going to the doctor, so trying to convince him he needs to go back to her tomorrow is not working real well :sad2:.

:grouphug: :flower3: and :wizard: for her.

Aneille- we are in the same boat with excursions- we will have our 5yr old son and 3yr old daughter with us. She will be a newly turned 3 as her birthday is at the end of September. Sure hope we can get her potty trained by then so we can go in the pools!!!!

Dizzi- since you seem to know the Disney parks so well, could you give us some pointers on the things not to miss with the ages of our kids? Neither my husband nor myself have been to Magic Kingdom since we were in high school. We probably wont be getting autographs from the characters because they will all be on the cruise. Thanks for any input. We are also going to the Animal Kingdom when we get back from the cruise.

Does anyone have a favorite Disney resort that you like staying at for the kids? We are thinking of staying at one of the resorts on the Saturday we get back from the cruise. We can play all day at the resort and then on Sunday go to Animal Kingdom. I heard there is one that has a lazy river. Is that one nice? Is there a pool there as well?

nime a go ti-nights, hope to see you all 2morrow night in chat, hopefully my neighbors will be joining us too.:surfweb:

When we went in 2005 we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge....LOVED it. :lovestruc DD was 6 DS 9. Kids LOVED it. :cloud9: Then we have stayed at the Poly. Pools and beach good but AKL much better in overall atmosphere.. Those are both deluxe resorts.
Maybe someone else has an opinion on the value resorts. :confused3 I have heard some good things about them. and you could save the $$$.

Dana

Thanks for the tips on hotels! Both of those resorts look great. I think the one with the lazy river is not a Disney resort- maybe a Marriott. We are also looking at an off site new hotel- Lake Buena Vista- they have 2 bedroom suites and are very reasonable- BUT..... there is something said about staying onsite!

Dizzi- you have gotten me very worried about not being prepared when I enter Magic Kingdom. I have been online all night now looking up maps and explanations of attractions. I have a lot of work to do!!!

Is our cruise the first on when the Magic gets out of drydock? :confused3
And
If so, do you think we will be able to get on board slightly earlier? :confused3
And (notice how I rolled this into three)
Do you think we will be able to get right into our rooms? :confused3

Thanks!
:thumbsup2

I wanted to thank you all for the well wishes.... Angelina is not any better this morning. Things are always extra complicated with her since she can not communicate it really makes it such a guessing game.

Midwest Cruisers - My kids 6, 4, 2 always like the Boardwalk. I know others will not recommend it because its a bus ride away from the Magic Kingdom but the kids love being able to roam around on the boardwalk, watch the magicians, trade pins, get something to eat and watch Fireworks. Mom and Dad like it because we don't feel trapped at night in our hotel room or in a lobby. We also get to watch the entertainers, fireworks and bring a drink with us. They don't have any entertainers during the day however, just at dusk until about after the fireworks if I remember.

The Beach Club has a lazy river. The pool is my favorite by far and is probably my second favorite hotel that I have stayed at with my kids. Its a great pool for all ages and I know my youngest would love the sandy bottom. We almost stayed there on this trip because we have 3 small ones with us (sister's kids included) but we are only staying for 3 days. We opted for the Boardwalk since my sister kids haven't been to WDW and will probably be in the parks most of the time.

I'll ask my oldest today which resorts are her favorite in order. She has stayed at Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk, Beach Club, Animal Kingdom and Old Key West.

The beautiful thing about DCL is that they have an ear of the Mickey pool for those Non-PT kiddos!! It's wonderful! It's not a pool but more like a splash area. We loved it because it is right there and dad can go with the older child in the MP while mom sits on the ear side with baby/kiddo. I loved that there was an option for Tori when she was almost three on our first cruise because it would have killed her not to be able to go into the pool!!! AND don't forget Castaway Cay! No rules there about NPT kiddos. Just remember to bring plenty of swim diapers because they are EXPENSIVE at the parks and on the cruise!!!!

Resorts....ah!!! SOme of our favs -

Value - POP Century - cool place, lots of pools and they are the best - not overcrowded and there is a great "baby" pool near the Hippy Dippy that mommy's and daddy's love because it's such a great lounging pool! Keeps you cool while you watch the kiddos!! THey also have a great food court. Believe they have their own bus unlike the All Stars so that's a plus, too!

Moderate - liked the Port Orleans resorts. Riverside is quieter and has an on site restaurant (and a food court, too) but French Quarter has a really neat kiddie slide and good baby/kiddo pool. PLUS you can get beignets there at the food court!!

Deluxe - MY FAVORITE!!!
Our all time fav is Wilderness Lodge because of the staff!!! Well, Whispering Canyon, the short boat ride to MK, the pools, and the quietness of it all do add into it!!!

That said, our next fav is AKL, where we will be staying after. Nothing like waking up to sit on your patio and watch the animals first thing!!! Boma's is a good restaurant (used to be better so we will see on this trip if it's improved or not). NOT a fan of Jiko's at all!! (personal experience - the food was not to our liking - too salty!- and the waiter dumped a whole tray of after dinner drinks on me - our 10th anniversary - and never offered anything except a short apology!!! Nothing like taking home liquored up clothes the next day on the airplane - drug dogs must've had a field day!!)

Stayed at the GF. Was a dream of mine since I was a kid....must say not a fun resort. The staff was a bit snooty and I always felt I had to shush Tori or tell her to be still. Didn't do the pools, was too cold. Best thing was seeing the celebrities (this is where they stay when they visit!). Saw Barry Manilow, Kelly Ripa (and family - Mark Consuelos really is cuter in person!!!) and heard that Johnny Depp had been there just a few days before!

Yacht and Beach club - this is where the lazy river pool is. There's also a sand bottom pool that doesn't really go more than 3 feet in depth. Fun pools, great atmosphere and TERRIFIC restaurants! Beaches 'N Cream with the icecream (Kitchen Sink is still a popular item on the menu!), and our favorite can't miss on any trip - Cape May Cafe! Great character breakfast in the mornings, and SUPERB clam bake in the evenings! They have steamers, peel n eat shrimp, etc but also tons of other foods - kids section too - for those that don't like seafood that much. They also have really good soups and desserts! Gotta try the Oreo Bonbons! Just as popular as the Zebra Domes at Boma's/AKL. Also great because you have a 5 minute walk to EPCOT's back door or a short boatride to Hollywood Studios! And don't forget the Boardwalk for a good walk to see things, too!!

Haven't stayed at the Poly, Contemporary (too noisy, I've heard) BoardWalk. Limited on info from the mods because I've only stayed at PO. Values, always go back to POP because we LOVE it there!

Hope this helps you a bit - sorry so long!!! Whew, now I've got to get Tori off to school!

Have a great day everyone!!!!
Suzie
