we will be going to the Disney outlet here in 2 weeks when my Mom comes down we have a large outlet mall That i am taking her to and they have a Disney outlet!!!!! HOPEFULLY I WILL FIND SOME TSHIRTS!!!!!!!

And i have one at the Saw Grass Mils mall here in Fort LauderdalThere isone at each of the outlet malss in orlando!

They are pretty awesome yu can find soem good deals there.

My family cruised over Halloween 2006! We immediately rebooked for this year when the dates became available. There is trick or treating onboard but the lines are a little long and my kids became very hot and bored quickly. (My DD was 5 and was Minnie Mouse and my DS was 9 and was Caption Hook and he recommends wearing short sleeves!) Other than that, it was fun seeing all of the characters dressed in their Halloween costumes and there was a dance party in the main lobby that looked like a blast.
Topsiders had candy decorating its buffets that day the was for the children to take and the night before when your room was turned down, we received a map of the trick or treat path, bags for candy, and I am almost sure that they gave us a Halloween video of some kind for the kids.
The pumpkins were incredible (as Disney always outdoes themselves) and there were other activities but we were unable to attend everything. Also, we celebrated Halloween on the 30th since Pirate night was on the 31st which I can only guess they couldn't move due to the fireworks.

As for our family, we are from St. Louis, MO with family of 4 including DH, DW, DS 11 and DS 7. We are in cabin 6068.

It has been life on fast forward here. Can't seem to slow down. does that mean time for the cruise yet?
In my job we have an annual "surprise" inspection by public health. These can be anywhere from pleasant to nightmare depending on the power/ego of the person(s) doing the survey. We made it with only a bruise or two. I am thankful that is over. It kinda puts your life on hold in my position till its done.
I try to catch anyone still on chat when I can. No one seems to be on when I finally get there. Maybe one of these days I will chat with someone! DD has been doing more chatting with Stefani's DD than me.
The weather was finally nice here~~an unbeleivable 56 degrees on Friday. Then SNOW today. Was just making the plans to clean up the yard and garage. Maybe next week when I have free labor (kids are off on spring break)

My prayers are also with you and your uncle--sorry to hear the news.
What would I give to be in DTD......
Where is the best outlet for disney merch? Love to find that place when I am down there!
so the consensus is the iron on t-shirts? I found lime green shirts at Hobby Lobby. DH says it is a little to bright to wear. Not sure I can handle that hue in the embarkation pic. It was almost neon. I am going to keep looking.

there is a few of us going from last years halloween cruise too
we done our own T&T a few days before the 31st and we are doing it again this time

We got an email from My dh mom last eveing that they have decided to coem to WDW with us.................soemthing we have been talking about for a year or so and the dates they can come are OCT 25 for that week!

Not sure what to do. Well... to start with, I work the weekend package at the hospial, have for 8 years and I love it. We are only allowed 8 total days off and only 4 days in one quarter a year. I had it all planned out like every year and then I got sick this past week and ended up calling off so that means I have used 2 weekends this year already in the first quarter. I have a couple options now...., give up the cruise, give up the weekend package if something comes open on my floor between now and oct, or give up the weekends (it is an extra $13,000 a year) and work on another floor. I looked at booking the double dip next year but prices are about $1,000 more and I really don't want to wait. There is such a glut in the nursing market here since we have 5 schools locally that there are so few openings now. I still plan to move to Fl. in the next 2 years. I am so bummed. My DH says do whatever, I think he does not want me to give up weekends but I have done it forever. I have friends who have been asking me to work M-F days in pain service and another who says there will be an opening in I V therapy. I have worked rehab for 14 years and changing jobs scares me but at the same time I think it would be good to try something else. Just not sure what to do.

I cant even give a suggestion,except. Do what is good for you i suppose and the cruise will always be there. That is just 7 days in a 2 year span...that 2 years needs to be happy times just as much as the cruise!

Thanks, Lynn. I just found out that another girl I work with was told she could not go on her cruise in 2 weeks because she called off 4 hours in Jan. Our boss never told her, just stuck her on the schedule. This girl has paid for her cruise and finds out that she is supposed to stay and work 2 weeks before she leaves! Ain't work grand. There is no loyalty toward staff anymore.Years ago I would have told everyone to come work there but the last few years this place has started worshiping the almighty dollar and has forgotten what it takes to bring people to them. Unfortunately, if you want to play you must pay.
DH says do what makes you happy. Wouldn't he be surprised if he found out I went travel nursing in Orlando and left him and the kid here? Very tempting.

I can't believe how little time you get off from work - do you mean you can only have 8 days off sick in a year, or is that 8 days total ( ie sick and vacation time ) in the year. What would you do if you wanted a 14 day vacation for example? If you are off sick you are expected to cancel your vacation - that is just barbaric.
We get 8 weeks paid annual leave from work (vacation time or just time off to do what you want at home) plus if you are off sick from work that doesn't affect your annual leave at all. You are allowed sick leave for 3 occasions in a year without a sickness review, and after that you have to go to occupational health. There is no limit on the number of days off sick in each episode. We get full pay if off sick for 6 months, and then half pay for the rest of the 12 month period.
I was thinking about moving to the USA to work as a nurse for a year, but I couldn't work under those conditions - true you probably get much better salaries than us, but I really value my time off
I really hope you are able to come on this cruise - is there really no way around it - unpaid leave for a few days to make up the difference? It seems to be really unfair.

We get 8 days off a year but keep in mind, most weekend package people work just the 2 days a week. We are allowed 2 days a quarter and 1 time a year we can put 2 weekends off if we are taking a longer trip but that means then in 1 quarter you do not get off. I hold an extra position and work a 12 hour shift once a week also. If you get sick, it counts as one of your days and if you come in sick and they send you home it counts as one of your days.We used to have 2 days a year to use if sick but in the last year they took that away too.
There is no unpaid leave. If you don't have the time in your vacation bank you can't go, even if you find coverage and if you do go, then you get a disciplinary action at the least ,or can lose your position.This is what happens when there are too many nurses in your area and people are waiting for your job.
I really need to move out of this area but PaDisneyCouple, I think central PA might have similar weather and I would like warmer weather. But thanks for the invite.
