Excellent idea Jackie!! And talk about a wonderful help for those of us who are memory challenged - at least now I won't have to print off the whole forum to study on the way to Florida :rotfl2:

Great job on the nametags Dana - you rock! I also agree that I don't think we need to worry about the dates.

Fun chatting last night as always - sorry I couldn't stick around longer. Will hopefully chat again Saturday night.

Hello Again from Bournemouth, England!!

I did post way back but to be totally honest with you all ,it all got too busy so i gave up posting, although i do often read whats going on!

So, to re introduce...There's Me, Sally(41), DH Chris(41) DS Ryan(14) DS Liam(3) & My Parents Rose and Arthur(Both 70 somethings!)

We live on the South coast of England(Should be sunny right now but once again our Summer is awful!)

I'm a Beauty Consultant for Elizabeth Arden, DH is a Ventilation Manager, Kids are at school & nursery and my parents are very much retired(Apart from looking after our kids sometimes!)

This will be our 2nd Disney cruise but our 10th (i think) visit to Orlando...We LOVE Florida!

Can't promise I'll post often & we're not really into meets etc.. but we are extremely happy to be cruising again & I'm pretty sure I'll spot you all somehow!! :rotfl2:

so now you know why I done it :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Most assuredly this has been asked before but does anyone have specific sewing directions for making FEs? I have the material and now have lost whatever directions I had (not much at the time, I do remember).

TIA!

Maybe there are too many choices now But would you rather have a name tag that was easier to read. The back would list the donors and could have "Disney Magic Oct 25 - Nov 1, 2008" or viceversa with "Halloween on the High Seas" on the back.:confused3

Hi!

I paid the final payment on my cruise tonight.

I was going to hang onto it until the last minute, but life's been so hectic I wasn't sure I'd remember in time! LOL

I would love to be a donor as well.

Everything you are doing looks so great! I have been accumulating "stuff" for the cruise and I think one large suitcase will be earmarked just to get it all on board!

Can we just go NOW?

Day 1 - Port Canaveral - Saturday, October 25, 2008

Day 2 - Castaway Cay - Sunday, October 26, 2008

Day 3 - At Sea - Monday, October 27, 2008

Day 4 - Cozumel - Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Day 5 - Grand Cayman - Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Day 6 - At Sea - Thursday, October 30, 2008

Any idea which night is Pirate night on our cruise?

Lovable~~ Isn't it a great feeling to pay it off. Feels like you are one step closer. :cloud9:

Hi Suzie

These are the instructions I have:
Fish Extenders:

You need 1/4 yard of fabric, iron interfacing, wide double fold bias tape, and a 3/8" dowel 8" long.

Pockets are 11" X 5 1/2"
Back is 32" X 8"

Cut out backing and pockets then iron on interfacing.
Sew bias tape on top of pocket
pleat once on each side and pin bottom of pocket so that it is 8" wide.
baste, then pin bias tape on bottom and sew on
Pin pockets on backing and sew bottom of pocket to backing
Pin and baste around entire outside of project.
Pin then sew bias tape around outside edge of whole fish extender
fold top over leaving room for you dowel at top and sew along the inside of bias tape down each side to secure.

Good luck with your fish extender!

Hello - I thought it was about time that I joined in the introductions.

We are the Whittam / Howsam family from Wales in the UK, and we live on the lovely but not very sunny North Wales Coast, about 5 minutes walk from the sea. Our family consists of myself, Sarah (43 - ouch, I don't like that bit!), I work in our local hospital as a midwife, and I am a total Disney nut. I love everything Disney, but have a particular obsession with Pirates of the Caribbean (both the rides and the movies).

I am married to Tony who is ex-Royal Navy but now working for the National Health Service in Portering Services, (45 - turns 46 on Halloween :scared1:), who is also a fellow sufferer from Disney Obsessive Disorder. Between us we have four wonderful kids who are all still in High School: DD Taryn, (17), DD Louise (17), DS Daniel (14) and DS Stephen (18).

This will my 6th Florida trip, 4th Orlando trip and 11th Disney trip ( 8 times to Disneyland Paris as we are only an hour's flight away!), but it will be our FIRST EVER Disney cruise and we are unbelievably excited. :yay:

I thought we go to Cozumel on Wednesday.

Woody

I've just checked the DCL website and, sure enough, it appears they have swapped around the Tues/Weds ports of call. This is not good news for us as we have an excursion booked in GC that I am trying to change now!!!!!
However, the 'PortTime' website does show that there were to be 4 other cruise ships in Cozumel on the Weds. so maybe DCL made the decision based on that??

I hope you can change it Helen - the tour companies must be used to cruise companies doing itinerary changes like this so hopefully it will be ok.

HI

Do you think we need a cut off date for joining the fish extender exchange.
I say this because if anyone is thinking of buying their fish extender gifts on-line then it would be better to have a fixed number of people before making the order and not have to worry about adding on new participants at last minute.

What do you all think? If we think that a cut off date is needed, do you think that September 1st is a realistic cut off, or is that too early? What have you all done in the past?

I am really not sure. How many people to we have so far? Maybe we can split the groups now and if more want to join in they could be in a seperate group.
I keep forgetting to give my room #7138

I am starting to get the feeling that our cruise will just keep changing :rotfl: I know that it makes it really hard for people who want to book excursion through outside companies.

We can't split the groups yet as some of us don't have allocated cabins yet and that will make a difference to the groups, as I will be trying to split the groups according to the decks to minimise the walking!

At the moment we have 26 participating families with 28 cabins in total, so a 2 way split will mean 14 cabins in each group at the moment. If a lot more people wish to join in then we could end up with 3 groups.

You can access the list via POST 6 (click on the link in my signature)

Anyone else wishing to participate please send me a PM with all your details!
