This we learned while on holiday in England in May: We are so far behind UK in electronic technology. We still hand over our credit cards to waiters who take them into the back, photocopy our numbers to sell to people overseas and make life miserable when you find out someone has been using your credit card number.

So, no chip and pin or table-side card readers. Still signing. Some places do not even require a signature if under specified $ amounts.

I think we'll have one load of laundry. We travel light, and had one carry-on bag each. We take more luggage on a Disney cruise!

I have decided that I am so envious of all you people who have over a week left to go ......I have exactly 2 and a half full days at home ( can't count Thursday as I am in the hospital for my cystoscopy) and I still have ALL THIS to do:

make pirate skirt x 1
make pirate shirt x 1
fish extenders to finish
alterations to 2 dresses
make halloween costume skirt for me
finishing off some FE gifts
make door magnets

and have a few things to buy:

laminator and sheets to do door magnets
shoes for DH and myself
swimming cozzie for DD
few more FE bits

and not to mention PACKING!

I feel like my head is spinning...........


What am I doing on this computer when I have ALL THIS to do

If anyone has any remedy for last minute panic or any knowledge of how to slow down time, could you please send it in my direction.

Okay - here's what I learned (aka... "Iron Ons for Dummies" )

- make sure you measure and check for "levelness" - helps to make sure its centered and also not "squish" (By the way, would appreciate it if no one looked too closely at Alex's shirt )

- make sure you load it into your printer properly

- make sure you remove the backing before you put it on the material

- to avoid the "scorched look" your iron needs to be set to "dry", not "steam" - and I learned to put a thin cloth over the parchment paper - between your iron and the parchment paper

- which brings me to number 5 - don't forget the parchment paper

and 6 - make sure it's facing the right way when you place it on the material. I used 2 different types of iron ons, one face up, one face down. I now have a dishcloth with a pic of Mickey on it

I started these with "make sure..." because even though the instructions on the package say the exact same things, someone who shall remain nameless still made these exact same mistakes. I'm not saying it was me but a ...cough...cough..."friend".

Thank you for the "Iron Ons for Dummies" tips.

My DH helped me print up our transfers last night. We have never done dark t-shirt transfers...so it was a little different from what we are use to. Thank goodness we decided to read the instruction at the last minute, other wise everything would have been printed...reversed! (lol)

Today, I am going to iron on the transfers. This always makes me a little nervous. If they turn out okay...I will post some pics.

Wow, great tips on tshirt transfers! I haven't done the dark ones either...was going to use my regular ones on the lime green shirts, will that work???

Sarah, I feel SO much better now that I've seen your to-do list! In chat on Saturday night I felt like such a LOSER because I was still sewing and haven't begun to pack (GASP). But the fire is now a'lit and I'm going to work on my packing lists...that's what work time is for right????

I am getting SO EXCITED! I totally have the I'm going on vacation smile on my face, all the time...

Oh, and I would love input on the terminal arrivals too (as I posted earlier). We are staying right by the pier on Friday night and plan to go over AEAP for boarding. Is it first come, first served? I know there will be tons of club members on this cruise so I doubt that benefit will serve much good.

We arrive at MCO 10:15. So as soon as we get our luggage we will head over to the cruise terminal. I am hoping to get there by 12 the latest.

QOTD: We'll be getting to the port around 11:00 ish. The limo is picking us up around 10:00 and it's about an hour to the port. Trying to call and verify our driver and see if we need to be picked up earlier to accomodate all the others going to the port using their service!

We have them booked as well Vanessa - first time using them, but they get very good reviews on the boards. You might want to e-mail the manager, Jackie Towery (jtoweryfltours@aol.com) to confirm your reservation as they were having huge computer problems last week. They'll want all your information - dates, places, times, res. # - when you e-mail them.

As for QOTD - we're being picked up at 9 so hoping to be at port by 10 - 10:30. (It's about 1 - 1.5 hours from WDW to port, right?) The limo comp. tried to tell me that was too early - that they'd just be disembarking then - but of course those of us on here know better!

Hello... I'm new here. I remember booking this a year ago, on the last DCL cruise, back when they still offered 20% off and the $200 shipboard credit.

We lucked out BIGTIME on the airfare. On the way home last year, I was crashed out across four chairs in that armpit of MCO that was still being remodeled, then hearing those magic words: "We are looking for volunteers..."

Turns out it was a German family that just had to get home right away, but no one could understand what they were saying. I know enough German to order beer and get around, and it seemed to work. We got four flight vouchers, hotel, $60 in food coupons, and flew home FIRST CLASS the next day.

I enjoyed finding this site, and I really am looking forward to this trip, as it looks like many of you are. What a great time to get outta town for a while.

We did the towncar thing last year and it worked great, so we are doing it again. You can leave on your own terms, much quieter, and you can read or sleep on the trip to MCO.

I used a site that you put in your travel information, and the companies send you back quotes. I'll dig around and see if I can find it.

QOTD: We hope to be at the port early - for breakfast if possible. We are hoping to leave Orlando before 8am and drive to PC for breakfast. Then drop off the car and to the port between 10am and 11am. Of course this is merely a plan - and my plans have a big fat habit of going pear-shaped!

now ......back to the sewing machine (why isn't there a smiley for that)
