"Hi! My name is Amy and I am 45 years old. My DH is John and is 46. Our children are DS Nathan 25, DS Jackson 9 and DD Carly 5. Our last name is Campbell with the exception of Nathan..his is Burch. We are from Newport News, Virginia. This is our second Disney cruise. The last one was on the Wonder in 2000. I have been to WDW over 15 times now. Our next trip to the world is January 09! We are staying in cabins 2622 and 2624. I love shopping and making creative stuff. I have been a Director of a preschool/childcare center for 23 years. My husband is the manager of a carpet store. Okay - got the following PM from someone who wanted to remain nameless (didn't want to be a bother if no other newbies came forward), but I thought I'd share the message here to answer the questions....

I just saw your post about us newbies who joined the cruise after the cut off dates. I am interested and will post my info but I don't want to be to much trouble if I am the only one who is joining up. I also have a few ?'s. I just ordered an FE from ebay if we can join the FE fun, however being new to the concept I'm not to sure what is expected. The info I've gathered would be:
Several cabins are assigned and we buy gifts for each family member every day of the cruise. When do we put the gifts in the FE? AM/PM
Also TOT - I can bring whatever is needed to participate or send $$ if necessary.
So sorry to bother you but wanted a few ?'s asked and you were brave enough to post the info for us.

Okay - first off - we put the invite out there to determine interest so we could figure out a way to fit the latecomers in if at all possible. The best way to do that is if you're willing to identify yourselves - so please don't feel you're being a bother! We just want everyone to be happy !.

Secondly - the FE Gifts are given once per cruise to each family on your list - unless you talk to Suzie . (Sorry Suzie - couldn't resist!) But honestly, that is a common mistake made. Oh - and some are giving gifts per stateroom, others are giving gifts per person in the stateroom, or adults and kid gifts per cabin - whatever fits for you! Also, you can give them out whenever you want - any day of the week, any time of the day or night. Half the fun is not knowing when you're going to get a treat in your FE! If only a few newbies want to join, we might just slot you in to the existing groups. If we get several, we might just add a new group. Some people are planning to give to more than just their group - either to friends they've made that are in other groups, or because they planned something for everyone - so even if we end up with a smaller 4th group, you might get unexpected treats.

Third - we also talked about ways to add additional kids to the TOT. Again, we need to know numbers to see if we can figure out how. If we can work it out, it will probably mean the parents supplying the bags for their newbie kids - we just don't have any extra bags. To list your kids for the TOT, the requirement is to supply something for the treat bags - whether that be candy, pencils, whatever you want - just be mindful that we have NUT ALLERGIES in our groups, please. The other requirement is that at least one parent needs to volunteer in some form. This event will be more tangly to try and add the newbies, but we're willing to try - but again, no promises!

Bottom line - PLEASE express interest if you're hoping to join in - we can't come up with solutions unless we know what kind of numbers we are dealing with!

If anyone else who was in chat last night can think of anything I left out - please add - or correct me if I'm wrong!! My secretary minutes appear to be a bit fussy!

1. Do I drink Coffee- Yes Addicted to the Sugar free Vanilla iced coffee from McDonalds. I only drink foo foo coffee as my husband says... must have flavoring, or creamer.

2. Disney character I am most like....hmmmm eeyore (which by the way is my most favorite) quiet, shy, (thanks for noticin me...) LOL...


Wow I need to get caught up on all the pages, so many posts daily! No cruise docs here yet So hopefully soon it is great to hear that many of you are starting to recieve them.

UPS guy did make a stop though, bringing me some FE gifts! But still need to figure out some more gifts....Yikes! I only have what 22 more days to figure it out

Ooh - forgot about the questions of the day! Thanks for reminding me Tara!

1. Coffee - like speciality coffees, and didn't get there last time, so definitely plan on checking out Cove Cafe this time!

2. Think I missed the family/adult ? too - hopefully combo of both. Last time, DS9 was not fussy on the clubs - he was only 6, and both boys were ready to crash early, so didn't get as much adult time as we were hoping. Since I am now occasionally in bed before the kiddies maybe we'll all be able to stay up a little later, and REALLY hoping youngest child enjoys the kids clubs more this time, so we can check out some of the adult sections/activities on board. (Considering the last time one of the big draws for us in choosing DCL was the kids clubs - and being told "You don't have to see your kids if you don't want to!" - boy did that backfire on us )

3. Which Disney character am I most like? Sometimes Grumpy, sometimes Bashful, sometimes Dopey - that vacant silly grin looks vaguely familiar! I am sure the kids would occasionally call me Cruella ! (But you're being a good parent if they don't like you sometimes, right? At least that's what I keep telling myself!). Then there's times I'm bouncing around like Tigger. I guess I see myself in a lot of the characters - which might be why Disney appeals to all ages??

First, thanks again you guys.(Mommy2777, AuntLynne, Newfie-Mom,Suziemva, Loveable Gluttons) I feel like the problem child everyone has rallied around. I didn't expect you all to go to so much trouble. Like I said before, I'm just happy to have found the dis before the cruise. My family and I will certainly participate in either and/or both TOT and FE if it works out that other families want to sign up. Looks like the interest is there. I hope the late changes don't overstress your vacation plans. Let me know what else I should do. Oh yeah, gotta get 10 posts.

We live in North Carolina, but were raised in Virginia. We spend most of our fall watching football and cheering for the Virginia Tech Hokies.

We specifically booked the cruise while Tech had away games. Tech plays Florida State on the 25th, so DH is hoping it will be on the big outdoor screen as we embark.

Sorry I have been awol a couple of days - work! And another 12 hour shift today - help! (work so gets in the way of cruise preparations!)

QOTD: Can't stand coffee or mocha. Tried for years, including Starbucks froo-froo drinks (and had them use 1/2 the coffee). Always get that yucky aftertaste.

My alma mater, Auburn, is off October 25, also; playing on the 23rd (I guess for TV purposes). Coming home on Nov 1, we might miss the game depending on which TV slot CBS puts us in.

Ames Disney1 _ noticed you have a 9yo son Me too, nervous he will not meet up with anyone in the kids clubs. My DD, and other DS will have each other and he will be by himself. We should try to get them to meet!! Any others with kids the same ages??

Another note, Got my dress for the formal night- Thank God for SPANX!!! I cant believe its Oct 1st the days are going to fly by now!! I have so much to do. And since a new FE group seems to be forming I need a FE!!!!! Off to work!! Mary
