:cake: party: :bday:

Hey all!

Adam and I are taking the Panama Canal cruise and bringing the wonder home in 2011.

Anyone else doing that one? :cloud9:

Still only signed up for the 7 night eastern on 10/23/10. Oh, yeah--and WDW this Saturday! Mom and Dad will house/dog sit, with the help of their greyhound, Dodgie. We did book meals at lots of new places for us, and new meals at old ones, too! I'll be starting a dining report soon.

Hope all is well out there,
Sean

We **might** be able to do one of the Alaska cruises with some friends from cruise#2 that live on the west coast. We have to see how things go future wise and what happens....sorry, would love to do the PC trip - heard it's a blast!

Have fun and Disney wishes to all!
Suzie

Wow! You will have to let me know, Mike and I have always said if Disney does Alaska we are there! He has always wanted to do Alaska. I really wanted to do Aug 2 2011, as this would be our 20 year anniversary but the prices are:scared1:...some of the later August ones a bit bit cheaper not by much though..so we will see..

Right now we are scheduled (just Mike and I) for Nov 13. it is about 53 days away..:cool1: We are scheduled on the Oct 23, 2010 (rebooked onboard) and i was tryinbg to wait until we cruised in Nov to book the kids (wanted the 10% and OBC) but now no cat 11's not sure what to do now...

Miss all of you guys!

Hi Suzie  I debated and debated the west coast repo and Alaska, but I would have had to come off the WBTA and wait an extra 6 months to cruise. The logistics were not good so we are sticking with the WBTA.

Hi Tara

have a wonderful cruise on November 13th ....hope you sort your kids out ok.

Great to post on this thread again :grouphug:

This was so funny - really brought home where my head was this time last year :lmao: and I immediately wanted to come here and share....

I've been in a workshop for the last 3 days, and pulled a notebook out of my bag to take notes - I tend to keep the same one in my bag so I always have something in case I need it. Well, started to tune out a little, and flicked through the book - the conference notes in the beginning of the book were dated "Oct. 8, 2008" - and in the back was my "To Do & To Buy List" from our trip! Either that conference on depression was not holding my attention, or my mind was just constantly elsewhere - which might be the case since there were Mickey heads doodled all through the notes :rotfl2:

The other part that was really funny was to see what I still had left to do and buy at that late date - even though we'd booked the cruise a year and a half ahead. On Oct. 8 I STILL had "To Do".... fix Elvis costume, fix pirate costumes, fix my dress, do labels for FE bags, make magnets, make t-shirts, and a few other real last minute items like notify bank, confirm limo, etc. And the "To Buy" list still had... magnet paper, dress clothes for Alex, TOT stuff, FE stuff, and about 20 other odds and ends that could have been bought months before! I remember the gang on chat asking me each time..."Do you have this done yet..." and me being amazed there were people packed by then! Scarey part - some of the things on the "to do" list I remember doing the night before we left :rotfl:.

Hard to believe this time last year we were on the countdown. Wish we were going on any/all of the cruises you all have booked, but nothing planned for DCL at the moment. Just wanted to let you know I still think of you regularly :grouphug: Enjoy all your trips, everyone!

Val

Val, that is so funny...it is hard to believe it has almost been a year:sad1:...we were all sooo excited this time last year and wondering what it would be like when we finally met! Oh how I miss our chat nights...:sad2:

Maybe one day we will all be able to cruise together again... I hope all is well with each of you and your families:grouphug:

One year ago today, I had finally met Dana & family and Tara & family face to face at Orlando airport. We had dinner with Dana et al in Orlando airport and later spoke with Sean as his flight FINALLY landed! Eagerly awaiting the morning to get our limo to take us to the Magic! What a great cruise!!!

Now, if my kids would only stop asking why mommy isn't doing all the Trick or Treat stuff this year and why we're not on the ship!!! LOL! Fun times but ready to get back to neighborhood Trick or Treating!

Happy Halloween, my dear friends! Miss you all terribly and hope that the ones that rebooked for this trip have a wonderful, calm seas, time!!!!!
:banana: (Jenn, that's for you, baby!!)

I can't believe it's been a year - what a wonderful cruise that was. This time last year we were enjoying our last day in Orlando and the 24th evening was spent at MNSSHP meeting up with the Balster family (who incidentally are flying out to Orlando again tomorrow!). It was so wonderful meeting up with you all and I have so many happy memories of that cruise.

Now we are on a countdown to our next cruise - 47 weeks to go - and I so wish all of you were going to be there too !:hug::hug:

Wow, it has been 1 year...This cruise and all the people we met will always hold a special place in my heart. This was a wonderful first cruise for us. I miss all of you.

I clearly remember our plane being late..... getting off to massive amounts of people waiting in the terminal and there was Suzie waiting for us! It was like we had known each other forever. Then we went down to luggage and met Dana and her family.

We are going again in three weeks, and hopefully booking onboard for on of the alaskan cruises, (if they still have the 1/2 price deposits on board) We will have to see.

Miss you guys so much and hopefully we will all see each other again sometime in the future!

We also found ourselves thinking back to 1 year ago. Taking off when our flight was due to land. MCO pretty much rolling up the sidewalks at 9pm, and trying to find food. Boarding about this time last year, I think. It was a good cruise, with wonderful friends. 1 year from now, we'll be boarding for another 7-night Eastern. Anybody else on that one? I think 101DalmationFan rebooked it. Anxiously awaiting word of the 2011 new ship itineraries. DW "thinks" she can do shorter than 7 nights, if its on a new ship.

and a month ago now, we'd just landed at mco for our 7 nights of free dining and the Beach Club :cloud9:

I'm still at the hospital, DW still works at home, and Max sleeps most of the day. :lmao: Actually, we've seen a little more speed running in the back yard recently. We walk almost every day, except when its pouring. All 3 of us went to a hockey game about 2 weeks ago, to volunteer for Keystone. Now, they've made it into Rachel Ray's Mutt Madness tournament (ncaa bball style brackets). Each round they advance brings more money from Rachel's fund. Hoping we advance, as the first round of voting closes tomorrow.

Unfortunately, there's no buffet downstairs for lunch, so I need to go cooking.

I've been doing the "this time last year..." thing for about 3 days now. (Well, actually, longer than that, but didn't want to sound too !)

We had such a good time, and it was great to meet everyone face to face. I remember Sean and Christine were the first Dissers we met, and then the gathering in the terminal began! The lanyards and shirts made it real easy - I still picture Geoff and Kyle standing there holding them so patiently! :rotfl: And stuffing the Halloween bags - we had quite the assembly line going!

The kids still do the "Do you remember ..." all the time - and football with Mr. Ed, Mr. Mike, Kyle and Cameron is usually in there somewhere! That last day at Castaway Cay was awesome :grouphug:. I keep reading the boards, and price cruises regularly, but still not another DCL or WDW trip in the near future

Life here is as normal as it ever gets - chasing the kids around as they go from gymanstics to swimming to ... whatever the social butterflies have happening at the time! I recently changed jobs, and poor Brian has been  the last few days (I keep thinking THANK GOD this wasn't this time last year :lmao: - such a sympathetic wife I am :rotfl:)

Hope everyone is well. Have a good Halloween. We're back to planning costumes that will fit over winter coats - had much more options last year!

Valerie

Thought I would stop by and say Hello. We were on the cruise with you all last year and just loved it. What cruise don't we love.

My youngest DD is actually carving her pumpkin right now. We haven't done this in several years because we have always been in Florida at Halloween time. But this year we are home. However, two weeks from tonight we will be at WDW. We just couldn't miss Food & Wine Fest and we are making it the last weekend of the festival this year. That is our favorite time at WDW.

So, hope you all have a happy halloween this year and remember the great memories of a year ago! :flower3:

Just thought I too would say what a great cruise. Thank you again to all of you who spent many hours organizing activities:worship:, so we could all remember it as such a wonderful vacation.

We were fortunate enough to get a kids sail free pin,:banana:so of course we HAD to book. I'm crrently trying to organize a FE exchange for the Jan 16, 2010 eastern sailing. Anyone happen to be onboard with us in January?:cool1:

...This was a wonderful first cruise for us....

And I see you've got two more booked since then - it is quite addictive, isn't it?

Hey all!

Adam and I are taking the Panama Canal cruise and bringing the wonder home in 2011.

Anyone else doing that one? :cloud9:

I'm booked - got the ressie confirmation in the mail today. A GTY 11B room. I thought it would be booked (with increasing prices as the day passed) on the first day open to the general public. But on Oct 20, I was looking at the DCL site and found this cabin. So it's just me (and 2500+ other people).

I booked most of the family for the May 31 Alaska sailing - it will be my 50th birthday that week. My sister, all four of her daughters, my sister-in-law and my dad. (My brother said his wife was interested; he didn't say he was - so I booked her and am waiting for his response about this). Two verandah and 2 inside cabins on the 6th deck, aft, starboard.

My 3rd niece, Karen (who's been on all 3 of my prior sailings), and I are scheduled for the April 2010 Eastbound Transatlantic, immediately followed by the April 24 11-night Mediterranean. We figured we were already there, so that the airfare could do double-duty. We had already switched from the WB to avoid arriving in Barcelona exhausted after an overnight flight before the cruise. Now, she just has to make sure she's keeping up with schoolwork and get her junior-year research paper completed before its December deadline (and DCL payment date), so I can breathe a sigh of relief that we are really going.

...And the Dream itineraries come out on the 29th - I don't think I can get one fitted in between PC and Alaska - or can I? That is 4 1/2 months. I don't know how Woody73 does it. Maybe never is at home, living on a Disney ship.

My sister, younger 2 daughters and I did the Free Dining offer in mid September - I definitely would not have eaten so many big dinners if we had been paying. Maybe free dining is not such a great thing!

...I'm still a stay at home daughter, however, it's now just dad and me, since mother made a quick downturn and passed away in May, nine days with hospice at home, during which time she was pretty much unconscious. The MD said it was probably a urinary tract infection (she had early Alzheimers) although she denied any related problems. I don't think she was in pain, so it was easier to handle. My brother and sister-in-law had just visited for a week and returned home to Boston the day that she got sick.

For the first time in 19 years, my dad went on an overnight road trip (he's 80 yo); we traveled to Louisville, KY, for a car show. He's got arthritic joints and will be miserable at home or on the road, so it's to the road (and ocean) for us.

I can't believe they let us keep our thread open. That was a great cruise with all of you last year. It really does change the experience to have more than just your own family with whom to share the fun.
