October 23, 2008; Wonder-ful Cruisin!

 little cruise dancing in order:dance3: (it snowed here again today, just a little, but still - yuck)

saw some disney material @ WM, a cotton blend, wonder if that'd work for the extender?

i'm game for whatever you think of-as long as we know how many are participating/theme/family members, etc... only thing i've got penciled in is I believe SR will be having a meet of some sort aboard; don't know exactly when.

while uploading Easter pics, thought i'd post some pics of last cruise
DS & myself during pirate night (he thought he looked goofy in his bandana-teens are goofy lol)

:cool1: GREAT pictures!!! I got home and was able to see them!!!!

I think it will work just fine for your FE!!! I bought some black material from WM and get this - have not sewn a stitch. I was going to sew, but I also did not want to pull out my sewing machine. So I cut up the material and started ironing and then decided to use fuse able web. I will post a Pict. as soon as I find my dern camera.

SR???? I just need to know if people are going to participate in the extenders then I will make one.

We definately need to set up some kind of meet. I have never cruised before so any vets that know a good time to do this lets set this up.

A meet the first day poss b4 the send off party, so that way we know where the cabins of all the participants are. I guess its to early right now for the others that are going to join us OR maybe we have the ship / pool / castaway cay to OURSELVES !!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Apparently there are like 6 of us on the ship, and we all booked cat 12 because I got GTY. :rotfl2: That's cool. We'll make our own party. I wonder if they will sit all of us at the same table during dinner or if we all have to split up?:confused3

 i dont think they would like me yelling across the room :rotfl: and they put us on the wait list for 1st dining.

Any ideas if we want to theme the days for the FE exchange?? Might be easier.

"HEY IVET!!!!" "I'M WAY OVER HERE!!!!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We can theme them as long as we all want to do it. What kind of themes do we want? We have what, 3 nights. Do we want to do like 1)represnet home,2)? 3)? ? I don't know what people usually do. I just want ot make sure we are going to do this so I can make my extender. I'm sure I'll use it again since I'm already ready to book my second cruise and I haven't even been on the first one yet. :rotfl:

Partner Dude here! No, you won't have the ship to yourselves.... Dude and I decided just this weekend - when the better Southwest Ding fares came out - that we'd do the cruise. Couldn't find any references to the cruise on the travel partner's website, so booked with Disney direct (isn't instant gratification wonderful?)!

Although this is our 5th cruise, it will be our first 3-day. Since we have a 3-day scheduled as part of a family extravaganza in January '09, we thought we'd better try a dry run so that we can be the experts that our families think we are!

We finally did fish extenders on our last cruise, but with no sewing: bondo-web and rivets worked quite well. This time we're travelling light: no FE, no pirate costumes (that's another trunk - er, story), no tuxes. Just one suitcase each so we can make that mad dash to MCO to catch our 'slightly' early flight home.

Well, I have to lessen the party by two. DH & I have decided to not do the SR Cruise and instead booked a 4-day cruise in September. It was only $100 more for the extra day.

I wish I'd booked directly w/DCL but didn't because I wanted to go to the SR reception and was told I couldn't if I didn't book through their agent. Um, now I wish I hadn't bothered because I'm not happy with response times w/the agent. Oh well. Live and learn, I guess.

I hope you all have a fabulous time!! :goodvibes:

If you have Disney link your reservations, you will be seated together on the same rotation. Of course, you need to have the dinner seating, too! As no one else seems to be posting here from SR, they must be doing the cruise-meet thing on the SR board.

I was just being silly. :rotfl:

But what is SR?

:rotfl: Well, it can happen. On our first Disney cruise 18 members of the cruise meet forum linked reservations and dined together at one really big table (I'm sure it was several smaller tables mooshed together) each night. Great fun and we varied seating so that we got to sit next to different people each time.

SR (I won't use the actual title in case it's considered advertising) is a shopping board (I hope I'm explaining this correctly) and is sponsoring a group of members on this cruise. I believe they have some events planned. Dude is the member.

Hey, I'm on this cruise! I tried to start a thread eons ago but no one responded! Glad to see that this ship is getting some action! This is my first ocean cruise so I'm pretty excited!

I will be there as part of the Sunshine Rewards group as well.

Haven't decided whether to attempt a fish extender or not.

Thanks to bbangel for pointing me in the direction of this thread!

We'll be there with the SR group (me, DH, and 2 DDs). My mom and stepdad will be there as well. And my best friend and her family. Oh, and about 12 other cabins of SR members so far??

I can't even think about it without getting excited. We are going to fly in Tuesday and do MNSSHP as SOON as we get off the plane. I don't know what we will do on Wednesday yet. Kind of depends what everyone else is doing.

We won't do a lot of dressing up on the ship this time either but will likely have a few different tshirts made at CafePress.

Nice to meet you, Marc. I've heard much about you :)

Jessica, I'm so sorry that you have had trouble with Gail. I know that she has a REALLY major thing going on in her family with one of her kids right now.

Hi Tricia.

Y'know I think it's really more a me issue than anything with Gail. I realized that I am very much a control freak, so waiting for emails & stuff just kills me. Lol.:rotfl: Gail has been very nice and patient with me, even after I've booked then cancelled, then rebooked then changed my date. I do hope that things get better for her.

aw sorry to hear, wonder if u could still book it? I had exactly the opposite issue with Gail:confused3 ; went out of her way to help me with "free" planning ideas for both DL & Vegas on trip end of June. Must be a fluke imo

tricia - u found the thread:goodvibes

ivet - don't forget the pic of fish extender;) ; i have yet to buy the material to make it

HINT: don't forget to save up some extra $s to book your NEXT DCL cruise while onboard for the OBC & discounts:thumbsup2 i need to take my own advice lol

Hi,

Just to say HELLO!! We will be on this cruise too - there's me, DH, DS and my parents.
It's our 1st cruise.... ever!!! We are sooooooo excited but completely overwhelmed.
I would love to hear from you if you could give me any advice or tips that I can share with my family.
Oh, by the way, we've booked NSSHP for 21 October, is anyone else going? We booked the tickets by phone, and they arrived in the UK only 4 dates later, fantastic!!!! It takes about 3 weeks to send a letter around the corner here!!

Thanks and love, Looby xx

Another SR cruiser, here! I am cruising with a 1 or 2 friends (Donna & Dee) and bbangel too! And another cabin has my co-worker Connie and her friend or sister. Megan, I put a call into Gail Friday to see what we need to do about our cabins. I haven't forgotten... just kind of waiting to see who else might want to come aboard (i.e. April or my friend Dee).

Marc, glad to meet ya! I'm really glad you and Dude are joining the cruise -- it sounds like you came up with a really good excuse to do so :)

So this will be my fourth cruise - second on Disney - and I'm furiously hoarding Sunshine gift cards and Visa reward dollars so I have enough to book a 7-day for my family while onboard.

Shelly

No worries Shelly, I think we have until August to decide right? I'm hoping that we can convince a few more people to join and then we'll need both rooms! I'm working on Traci this weekend!
