October 22, 2005 Roll call

Okay, I have an excuse for ignoring all of you :rolleyes1

We just finished moving into a new house, our second move in less than three months :sad2:

I was without internet for awhile and I still don't have my phone line installed...I hate moving, I really do :crazy2:

On a good note, I now have my scrapbook room again after having all my SB supplies packed in boxes for over 6 months!!!

I think I am going to do some SB shopping on Thursday and start scrapping again!!! I am so behind now, it's not funny! But I am really going to enjoy getting caught up!

When I get my SB space all organized I will post some photos on the SB forum, I always love seeing other people's SB rooms!

I haven't really had time to be thinking about the cruise but now that things are settled a bit, I am getting excited again!!! I still have my RCCL cruise to scrap! Gotta get that done before we go back on the Magic!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Glad to see you back...I was starting to wonder where you'd gone to. Hope this move will last longer than 3 mo. Moving...can be fun and exciting...but it's engouh excitment to last quite a few years. We moved into our house 3 years ago (On April 1...I know what a day to move into a new home)...and we still have a few boxes to go through. I think at this point it all needs to get tossed.

How fun to have a SB area again...some day I will...but i'm afraid it won't be until the girls are grown and move out. I'd love to convert the garage into a LARGE room..and use it for SBing...as it is now the garage is a pit for everything that dosn't have a home. I swear if any of those home fix-it...clean up places were in our area...our garage would win hands down. We have to have people sign a waver just to enter....lol... :rotfl: But really it is bad. Last year we opened it up to attempt to clean it out some...and we had numberous people stop and ask if we were having a sale...Needless to say we didn't stay out there long to clean...just to embarassing to have to tell everyone..no were just cleaning a little. :teeth:

Someday...I dream of a clean garage...or at least one that we can walk through.

Thanks to Scrapperjill for starting the kids board! Kaylee thinks it is so COOL because she always wants to post on this board, and I always tell her "no". How's your kitty cat doing? One of our cats, Simba, is in the hospital for kidney failure. I'm hoping that he'll pull through. We have another cat that has been in kidney failure for 3 years now, and with some special home treatment and a special low protein diet, she's doing great. I hope Simba does as well. I'm hopeful that if he continues to improve tomorrow that we can consider him "out of the woods."

Timon, glad to have you back! Moving is A LOT of work...I hate it myself. We have been in our house for 5 years and I know there are boxes in the attic that never got unpacked. Don't feel bad Sandi, we can't park in our garage because it is the official warehouse for AquaDoc Pools of Charlotte (our pool company). Talk about a royal mess!!! I hate having our garage door open too.

Well guys, we're getting closer and closer all the time! Seeing all the bathing suits and fun summer clothes out makes me so anxious to do cruise shopping. But I know that I can get better deals if I wait until the end of summer sales. I need a serious dose of self discipline!

:rotfl2:

Stacy...Sorry to hear about Simba. Our cat, Mr. Whiskers is doing MUCH better. He is even able to lift his tail some. He's just about back to his old self...getting into stuff..and clawing our furniture :confused3 ...How in the world do I get him to stop doing that. Makes me SOOOOO mad. We got all new furniture sets in both the living room and family room when we moved into our house...so everything is fairly new...But with him clawing all the corner...well it's getting me MAD. He stopped clawing...when his tail/butt hurt..so now that hes back at it I can tell he's feeling better.

Sandi, glad to hear that Mr. Whiskers is feeling like himself again! If you find out how to get a cat to stop clawing furniture, let me know!!! One arm of my loveseat is shredded! I have a scratching post that also gets used, but I guess there's just some enormous satisfaction that comes with ripping furniture to shreds that just can't be beat! :confused3 Sounds like between our garages and our furniture, we could do "House Swap" and be right at home!!!! :rotfl:

Stacy... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Sounds like we could do a house swap. :rotfl2: And I guess your right on the "enormous satisfaction that comes with ripping furniture to shreds that just can't be beat" ..we have a scratcher...but he won't step foot next to it. We thought about building one of those big cat scratch condo's and putting lots of cat nip under the carpet areas...so he'd just scratch and scratch and scratch there...but then we decided it may make him crazy or atl east goofer than he already is.... At least he's not spraying.

Nice to know we have some other cat people on the cruise. Our cat Jet went for his annual injections and the vet decided he was hyper-thyoid. Blood test and now tablets. REally dont think there is much wrong with him myself but it cost nearly £300. Ah well, he is worth it.

REally feel we need to bump up a bit as we are getting well down again.
Only six months to go and need to get thinking about trying to lose a bit of weight.

Nice sunny day here in Kent England today but they are promising us more rain and wind for the rest of the week. I usually love the Spring but fear it has passed us by this year.

:wave2:

Skallywag,

Sorry to her about your cat....the vet thought mine might be hyperthyroid since he had lost so much weight, but ended up being kidney failure. He is home now after a 3 1/2 day stay at the hospital, but I don't know how much longer he has left. We spent $1000.00 on him last week and he has an appointment for bloodwork and exam again on Friday. You're right, though, they are worth it.

I agree, I need to get my butt in gear and get back on my treadmill to try to drop some weight. However if I know myself as well as I think I do, I will procrastinate and never get around to it.....kind of like last year. I just got so busy planning for the cruise there was no time to excercise! :rolleyes1

I did have a dream two nights ago that we were on a cruise and did not make even one of our stops....but we didn't realize it until the end of the cruise...that's how much fun we were having

Lets hope that's not the case in October!

Stacy

Stacy,

Sorry to hear about your cat! We took our two cats in to the vet last week for their annual visit. Slinky is ok, but Goofy's tests came back and they now want to do some more tests, saying he also might be hyperthyroid. They want to also test his kidneys and as well might have to take medicine twice a day. We just moved and our vet is 40 mins from our new house, (we were only 5 mins away before which is why we took them all the day before we moved, so they wouldn't have to travel 40 mins each way as Goofy is petrified of being in his carrier) We have to go back on Friday with our dog and one cat!

While we were there, Tzar (our German Shepherd) had another bump on his back end which they had to remove, turned out to be an ingrown hair that was infected. We also had to get two cysts removed from under his gums. He had a tough few days! And our vet bill from last week was $400 for the 3 exams and for Tzar's surgery it was $800. Friday will be another $200-$300 for re-exams, stitch removal and anesthetic for Goofy for more blood work.

:earseek:

they are worth every penny, but it does seem a tad expensive sometimes!

Hyperthoidism seems to be the in thing at present here in England - my cat showed no symptoms and has always been nervous. New vet at the practice seems to be sending all cats for tests.

He seems fine and I really wonder if all the medication is good for them but you are afraid if you do not do it you are not doing the best for them - they cannot tell you after all.

Well still not doing well on the losing weight thing but weather has been good the past couple of days and so perhaps getting into the garden will help.
Very tiring day - watching the London marathon. Said I would have trouble driving that distance in 2 hours let alone running it. Does not bear thinking about. Still never have liked running and too old to start now.
My two daughters both grown up are looking forward to going and every time they phone they have a story about friends who have been on cruises recently.

Sometimes think the anticipation is nearly as good as reality and it keeps us going at least.

Okay, this is slightly off topic again, but I HAD to share cus I know you'd understand my excitement!!!

Hubby and I started dating 9 years ago today. Well, he surprised me with a very nice gift. He got me the Rebel XT Digital SLR Camera!!! :cool1:

I told him he could NOT get me the camera for my birthday (which was at the end of March, since we really couldn't afford it) so he surprised me with a gift today (okay, this morning at 12:01 am, he was excited for me!) and said that he DIDN'T get it for my BIRTHDAY, so he got it for our (sort of) anniversary :earboy2:

It's SOOOO nice! I just spent the last hour playing with it and learning how to use. It's really easy to operate, you can just set everything to auto or if you want to play with it and know what you are doing, you can also use the settings and play with it.

It's FAST, which I love! And I just downloaded some pics and they look fantastic! I also printed one off and it looks amazing! I mean, I also have a great photo printer but really, you could never tell that it wasn't printed at a lab!!!

I uploaded a few photos to my Epson site. I had to crop them in size and then I optimized them for viewing on the Web, since the original size was about 3-4MB each.

The link to my Epson Online Albums is in my signature.

I also just started scrapping again, first time in over 7 months, boy did I ever miss it!!

Okay, now I am super excited...is it October yet??????????????????????

P.S. Goofy's tests turned out ok, he has to be retested in 6 months but so far so good!

Timon.... :cheer2: :cheer2: How exctiting :cool1: I looked at your recent photo shoot with the Rebel XT... :) Looks like your having fun. And what a suprise.

Good to hear goofy checked out okay.

I haven't taken my Rebel XT out much lately...there's nothing special going on to take photo of...and we've been soooo busy with our fundraiser that's comming up....I just haven't had the time. I can't wait until the walk day (our fundraiser) t...I'll have lots to take photos of...a perfect time to get the camera out and play.

::yes::

I totally agree! I finally got around to showing DD Kaylee how to post on the Kids thread for our cruise. She posted five times in a row!!! :rotfl2: I think I need to give her a little more instruction! Some of the posts are hilarious for me to read...straight from the mind of a 7-year-old teenage wannabe!

Timon, glad to hear that Goofy's tests came back normal....what a relief, I'm sure! Simba is doing a little better each day. Our major challenge right now is getting him to eat and treating a bladder infection that popped up. Then we can work on controlling his anemia and managing his kidneys. Baby steps....

Hello everyone!! I am finally back! I have made it through our system conversion at work and really am quite relieved. This weekend will be my first free weekend with no work!! YEAH   Now I have to start planning for Anthony's communion and the cruise swap. I am so excited to get started on my swap items.

Timon - that is great about the camera. I love mine, although I have not had much time to enjoy it. This weekend it will be attached to my eye trying to catch all those great shots at baseball, dance & hockey!! It is also Jim's birthday on Sunday.

Stacy, I am sorry to hear about your cat. I hope things get better. We do not have any pets at the moment, but I do understand wholeheartedly. I read Kaylee's posts. They were very cute. To see how kids look at things is so funny. Her comment about the kids enjoying themselves in the club while they let the parents do what they want was so funny!

We have been having WONDERFUL weather here. Today was in the 80s. I am so ready for summer.

Hi Everybody,

Well, I've made it through the last couple of weeks and am finally going to get a chance to relax. We'll finish packing tonight and we leave for the airport at 4:30AM tomorrow - WDW here we come! When we get back I'll only have 3 days left to prepare for DS's birthday party - so far I know 9 kids are attending and 22 have not RSVP'd yet! :scared1:

As of now, I believe that I have all the info that has been sent to me updated on the cruise website "Who's Going" page. If you have sent me something that isn't there yet, please send it again since I must have lost it.

Good luck to all of you with kitty trouble. We had a hard couple of years - all 3 of our cats were "old" and we lost them all in about a year and a half. (13 yrs, 14 yrs and 14 yrs). We now have 3 more from the shelter (3 yrs, 3 yrs, 2 yrs) and 2 that my husband found and couldn't get into any of the shelters - they were already too full - the last 2 are only about 1 yr right now. DS has been naming them (all but one - can you guess which?) they are: Vincent Van Gogh, Dustbuster, Norman Rockwell, Claude Monet and Jackson Pollack! :flower:

I probably won't be posting for the next week - so I'll type at y'all when I get back.

Pdarrah

Have a great trip pdarrah!!! Wish I was going with ya! I sure could use a little break right now! I guess I will just keep counting down...oooh 176 more days till we leave!!!!

Have fun!

OK, now I know everyone is super busy :moped: , but this thread can NOT be on pg. 3!! :sad2:

Everything is hectic (as usual) in our life right now, as well. We took our 3yo dd to the ER last night, she had a fever of 103.2. She seems to be fine now, but they did a throat culture & gave her 4 chest x-rays. We should have test results back tonight.

Other than that, we are just spending alot of our time looking for land. Our poor house is about to bust at the seams! Land around here is outrageous (thanks to the Great Smoky Mtns! ;) ), but we would be willing to pay the price, if we could just find what we need! It's sooo stressful!

I've been getting VERY excited  planning our land portion of the trip for Oct. Of our 4 families, all the women & kids will be spending a week prior to the cruise at the parks. Guess we can't forget sethsmama's new "love" (the boys got IT bad, so he can't leave her side! :rotfl2: ), he'll be doing the parks with us that week too, for the very FIRST time!! We're going to have a great time! :grouphug: Is anyone else going to the parks prior to the cruise?

Come on October 22 cruisers...tell us what's going on in your lives! :thewave:

Tiffany,

Thanks for saving us from page 3!!! :scared1:

Sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope she's feeling better and that it is nothing serious. It is scary when little ones get a high fever like that...we've been there a time or two, but not recently, knock on wood!

I can imagine it must be difficult to find land at a reasonable price in your area. DH and I have a dream that one day we will have a nice mountain home in Blowing Rock. It is only about an hour & 15 min drive from our house and we go up there in the summer to escape the heat and mosquitos, and in the winter to play in the snow. However it seems like you can't touch a piece of property in that area for under $300,000. Not even a tiny, tiny, tiny cabin with no view. What do they say....location, location, location??? Well, maybe one day when AquaDoc Pools of Charlotte is a multi-million dollar company :rotfl2: ........ Good luck with your search!!! The right property just hasn't come along yet!

Life has been busy here too. Still nursing the cat in kidney failure back to health. He is doing well, but it will take some time before he's 100% again (if ever.) DD is busy with school and her activities (Brownies, gymnastics etc.) and DH's pool business is in full swing. We're actually going to take a break on Friday and go to Hickory, NC to do some furniture shopping. It is going to be a much needed break!

My treadmill has been avoiding me lately (so I ignore it right back  ). However DH booked a dive trip in Wilmington, NC for June 3-5 and DD and I will be going as well. I cringe at the thought of putting on a bathing suit in a mere 4 weeks! So I made peace with the treadmill today. We've always had an on-again, off-again relationship. We'll see how long it lasts this time

Okay, gotta go watch American Idol (I really am busy, I promise! :earboy2: )

Has anyone else been having troubles with the boards lately? I posted here just last night...to bump us up...but it's not here :confused3 anywhere....

I don't remember what all I had to say....Only thing I can remember is I wanted to let everyone know....
Were expecting... :goodvibes    .....Our dog Abby should be having her litter ANY DAY now...and were all getting excited.
I'm just hoping it doesn't happen Saturday. We have our Great Stides walk that day...it wouldn't be to bad...but DH and myself are the chair persons...organizing the whole event....so it would REALLY suck to have to miss it. But this is only Abby's second litter...and someone will need to stay with her just incase there are any complications.

Well I better go...Hope this one posts. Boy I hope I didn't post it some place else last night...that would suck also. :teeth:
