October 21st 2006 !!!!

We are flying down Fri afternoon, going to MNSSHP Fri. night and then heading over to the Radisson that night. We'll be exhausted, but it's worth it!

I can tell you this first hand...I was at the pier at 530 last sat. and the Magic was already docked.

As for us...We will be driving the 35 min from Orlando International over to the Ressidence Inn. We are then heading over to the MNSSHP.

We are coming in on the 19th staying at Shades of Green. Going to MNSSHP on fri. We will be going to the port Sat AM. Trying to get all of the last min things finished.

We will be flying down on Thurs, 19th, and going to MNSSHP that night. On Friday, we are going to hit DTD, then drive out to the Port to just relax for the afternoon. We are planning on eating at Grills, meeting up with family and getting a good night sleep.

We'll be at MNSSHP Friday night and then spending the night at one of the Embassy Suites. I can't even remember which one. LOL! I got it using my Hilton Honors points. That's how I convinced DH to spring for MNSSHP that night. I also get a lot of Disney Gift Cards from my business, so we will probably use those to eat in one of the hotel restaurants before we head to MNSSHP Friday.

Thanks for the info I'll be up earlier for sure

What??!!! Our thread is on PAGE 2!!!????

Are we all so busy packing that we haven't had time to "talk"????

Man, I don't know about the rest of you, but I am sooooo excited now!! This weekend I am finalizing all the little details of our trip...getting things packed...... :yay: :dance3: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

We have a countdown chain in our kitchen, and it is getting soo short!!!

Just remember, folks, this time 2 weeks from now, we will be getting on our ship!!! :boat:

karen :)

Your message cracked me up, Karen! We have a countdown chain in our dining room and my husband was just telling my daughters at lunch that two weeks from now we will be getting on the ship.

I am COMPLETELY excited. I was online last night and this morning looking for trip reports. We just called to find out what movies they will be showing and were pleased to find out that we will be able to see Pirates. We haven't managed to hire a babysitter to see it yet. So now we will get to! I also want to see Invincible while we are on the ship.

We haven't booked any shore excursions yet and I am getting a bit nervous. We did book our spa stuff and Palo a long time ago. We basically want to snorkel and maybe do one of the submarine excursions. I can't get into the reservation system to even see what is left. Surely something good is still left? Are any of you doing the ones that last about 2 hours?

Sunshinegirl, since you called about the movies, do you know remember what other ones will be playing in addition to POTC and Invincible (both of which I have been waiting to see!) Reading about the countdown chains makes me wish a little bit that our boys knew we were going on the cruise so we could do one too, but we've kept it from them this long, I just can't spoil it now. I just sent my box ahead to our cabin yesterday, so hopefully it makes it there! I just can't wait...it's getting cold up here in NH, and I like the warm weather so much better...can't wait to enjoy the sun!

Here are the movies that I can remember:

Stick It
Step Up
POTC
Chicken Little
Cars
Shaggy Dog
The Wild
The Guardian
Eight Below
Invincible

We are all very excited here in Ventura, CA. With the fires and ash, it will be welcome to see another ocean with clear skies. We just hope the weather stays clear. The kids here are still in shorts and T-shirts, so we held back some new school clothes, and made them "cruise clothes." We also don't have cruise docs yet. We'll make some inquiries though. Our house is in the tail end of a huge remodel, so I'm happy to leave while the tiling and floooring is done. Maybe when we get home it will actually feel like extreme home makeover after being away from the mess. We are staying at the Hyatt Hotel at the airport, we leave LAX at 7:00 AM on Fri., and will take disney transport to the port the next morning. We decided our day will be full of travel, and so we'll have a quiet evening before a most incredible week. The kids have a fall break out here, so we don't miss any school. Good for us, the district always frowns on us when we pull 4 kids out of school for a trip, they lose funding. We made our door signs, and the reality of going is starting to hit. Can't wait to meet you and your kids.

Surf'un :cool1:

Thanks for the list...there are certainly a few we would like to see.

Surf'un--Our kids have their fall break for our trip also, although we are pulling them out 2 days early. We are taking the red eye our of San Francisco on Wednesday night because we had originally hoped to catch a rocket launch out of Cape Canaveral on Thursday, but the launch schedule changed. We hope to catch a few zzz's on the plane and then head to Kennedy Space Center.

Sunshine girl--Thanks for the movie list. DH & I already saw Invincible, but my ds9 was upset that we went to see it while he was at school! So he was really excited he hear it would be playing.

We also have a count down chain growing quite short. And I'm going to make some key lime pie today with the last of our key lime juice from our last cruise!

Getting very, very excited!!! :yay:

:tinker: Julie

My boys are on fall break too, they are homeschooled so I gave them a break that week. Up here they don't do the fall break in the local schools.

Surf'un hope your knee is getting stronger and not too painful. Makes me ashamed of myself for whining about my toe surgery :guilty:

Are any of you planing on going to the DIS meet?

We are planning on being at the meet> pirate:
I called and ordered a basket for my DS to be waiting for him. He has not been as excited as I would of expected. But my DH and I are!!!! :cheer2:
I just have to finish shopping for our last min items!

I'm in for the meet! Also, if anyone is going to snorkel in Cozumel and would like some company, please PM me. DH and I are still looking for an excursion. I have heard that snorkeling is fabulous in Cozumel.

Ladies: What kind of attire are you wearing for formal night? Have not cruised on DCL before, but the other cruises I have seen everything from long gowns to pants and blouse. What would you recommend? Is a long black dress to formal?

I seem to recall a wide range. Everything from sundresses to formal dresses. Because I am going to rent DH a tux, I think I am going to go with a knee-length black dress and nice heels. The kind of thing that I would wear to my DH's company Christmas party. Probably one of my "sparkly" ones. My girls are going to wear two of their Princess costumes. So I would like to get a nice family picture. (wishful thinking??)
