October 21/22/23/24 crowd info please.

I'm thinking, if I can afford it, to go to MK and MGM again this coming October as a birthday gift to my daughter.

How's the crowd on October 21/22/23/24? (compared to the week PRIOR to President's Week)
How's the weather?

We were there from October 17-26th and the weather was fantastic...mid 80s, no humidity & no rain. We're used to going to WDW in the summer so we founds the crowds (or lack of) great.

We went last year (2 adults/3 kids) from 10/20 - 10/27 to celebrate all of our family's birthdays (all w/in 2 months). Considering it was near the end of FTP, EPCOT had the Food and Wine Festival, and was also during MNSSHP it was rather crowded. Wait time often reached 90 mins for Towerof Terror, RockNRoll RollerCoaster, and other popular attractions. The weather was georgeous, in mid-upper 80s. I asked the CM about the crowds, and he said that this month (Oct 2003) crowds were much higher than prior years. I'm sure it's still probably nothing compared to what crowds are like during the summer though. I still would recommend it.

We'll be there!! 8 total, 3 rooms at Pop Century. The crowds are pretty moderate in October. Nothing like Jan or Sep when things are slower. Still a great time to go!

I was thinking about going in Oct around this time too. How are the crowds compared to May? We have gone in May the past 2 years but it has really been hot!

I have been going in May and Oct for too many years to count and have the crowd level about the same. As it is getting warmer in May, it gets a little cooler in Oct. Both are great times to go. So much going on.

we will be there from 11th-25th october how will it be then in terms of crowds the first time we went was in november 2001 and this was lovely not many crowds and weather in the high 70's will october be roughly the same

I think the crowds in October are heavier than in November (except the first week of November, which can be crazy). With Food and wine and MNSSHP going on, October is quite busy, but not ugly. We try to stay near the end of october, as hurricane season comes to an end. never been during president's week, but was there the day before memorial day weekend once and couldn't wait to get away. We rarely/never go to WDW during any holiday. We do take our grandson in July (late) and find those crowds much, much busier than our May and October trips. I do make my PS for October (and May) because there are more empty nesters, like us, during that time. Plus a lot of locals like to visit in October, especially if they have seasonal passes, which allows them to visit then. Usually lots of other activities, like conferences going on too, so that adds to the crowds also.

n2mm - I just wondered why the first week in November is crazy - I thought we had avoided all the US holidays - is this Presidents Week?

President's Week this year was from February 15th through 21st.

pigby--there are so many things going on during that first week. The end of food and wine, super sopa weekend (3-4 day event). Festivals of the masters, not sure of the golf event yet, and the Jersey week. They you have the people making a long weekend with veterans day. Probably several other conventions too. We were there the last week of October last year and our resort was at 100% (POR). We were hoping to pay for an upgrade to a king room, but the CM just laughed. We also have other friends who had to stay off site because nothing was available for their timeframe. Just make your ressies early. We have 3 rooms reserved for PC for Oct. 20-29.

The golf classic (Funi-sp?) starts October 21st. I am not sure how long it lasts-3 days maybe.
