Heather, I noticed in your siggie line that you didn't enjoy your trip on the Carnival Glory. What happened that you had to give it a :sad2: rating?

Good-Bye Brenda, Jason and Plankton!! Enjoy Florida!!!:yay:

Boy mornings are quiet without all of the UKers. I miss waking up to 3-4 pages of their talking.

I see no US KKers on either right now.

Guess I'll get some work done.

Finally started to pack over the weekend. Only four work days left for me. Then we will be leaving very early Friday morning to drive to Port Canaveral. Will be staying at the Radisson. Arrival time approximately 3pm. Sooooooooooo excited!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Good morning all!

I will go back and catch up from the weekend, but thought I'd say hi:wave2: first!

I have officially entered the semi-permanent, excitement-induced, insomniatic pre-vacation state. I went to bed at 10:45 thinking I couldn't fit something I wanted to take in the suitcase (Thomas's swim vest for CC), woke up at about 1 am and started mentally rearranging the suitcases, came up with a possible idea at around 3 am, at 4 I got out of bed and tried out my idea, (which worked! ) then decided I'd better weigh the 2 bigger suitcases (32 and 41 pounds, woohoo!) and then started going over my packing lists again, since I was up anyway.

So, how's everyone else doing?

We joined Dave and Bev (theFatMan) and their children on a week's cruise to Belize, Cozumel, and ??.

The weather was OK and we did make Belize and Cozumel - but as with a lot of cruise lines you weren't in port for very long. That's what I like about Disney..no Casino! We couldn't dock at our last port of call as the sea was so choppy the ship couldn't dock...so they changed the itinery and we headed for St Maartin. Half way there, they had a medical emergency (some young thing took an overdose) so they had to turn back so that a helicopter could land onboard and take the person off to dry land.

So we didn't get to St Maartin again! Just had days at sea.

We got no compensation, not even free drinks. We did get our excursion money back, but we did expect this.

The entertainment was OK and they didn't have such a full list of daily activities. At times, we were just sitting around doing nothing. Something I can't stand. The kids club was useless. Disembarkation took so long..we didn't manage to get off until nearly midday.

So, if it wasn't for the fact that we were with good company....who knows what we would do.

Oh Jan...you will really need a holiday at this rate.

Wow Heather. That does sound a little lousy. I'm glad that you did get a few :) 's for the other cruises then.

Not to worry, we'll have plenty of :) :) :) on this cruise too.

Yep...but it's worth it! I think I'll snooze in the car on the way to the airport (2 hour trip).

That reminds me...my son was talking about the ride on the airplane, and I told him he'd been on an airplane once before when he was a baby, and slept the whole time (It's totally worth buying a 7 month old baby his own seat on the plane!!!!) so now he keeps saying he's going to sleep on the plane! I can only hope!

Ok, time for random posts....need something to read!

I'm also suffering from vacation-induced ADD!

How many suitcases is everyone taking?

I have it down to:

To check:
1 - 29" wheeled suitcase
1 - 24" wheeled suitcase (it's expandable, but right now it's NOT expanded! :thumbsup2 )
1 - wheeled garment bag

Carry on:
1 - 21" wheeled suitcase (which, if they try to make me check it, I will let the flight attendants know it will be all their fault if my kid is unhappy - all the snacks are in that case! :lmao: )
1 - very small wheeled suitcase - Thomas's CARS suitcase:)
1 - backpack
1 - portable DVD player

What do you think?

At least they beat the PACKERS! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hehe...had to get my own digs in...

Yeah, 5-1 vs. 2-4. We'll take a loss to you both times if we win the division.

You can have the games, we'll take the NFC North Title.

You may win the battle, but not the war.

You won't have any problems with the 21". We take them on AirTran all the time.

The nice thing about AT is that they have extra large overhead storage bins on their 717's. You can fit a 21" in the long way (no need to turn sideways). :thumbsup2

Hehehe....I'll admit, the Bears are having a tough time this year:)

Oh, good...my FIL (who flew on a different airline, he can't even remember which one) said he and MIL tried to take only carry-ons to Mexico and they said they were too big. He's trying to convince me they'll never let me take it on, even though the total dims of my case are 46 inches and the allowance is 55 inches. ARRHHGGG!!!! Don't stress me out like this - I don't really need MORE to worry about!

Pleasanton. In fact Pleasanton is in the county my DH is a Deputy Sheriff in.

Sacramento is second closest.

Both of those places have a Cheesecake Factory. It would be worth the trip into one of those places to have a nice date night. If you need the addresses of either of them let me know. I have them.

Jen

Welcome to the club. I have been that way for months now. So how many times have you packed and unpacked the suitcase?

I've been trying to figure out how many suitcases to bring. I think that I can do it in 5 but may do 6 just to allow room to bring stuff back. Dang it! I've got too much stuff!

If you're packing it all in 3 checked bags, you're doing better than I!
