I was reading my passporter last night - I have questions....

Lots of questions!

Sorry if some of them (or all of them ) are stupid:rolleyes1

1. Are the decks slippy? - it says wear non slip shoes. Do all you ladies take heels? - can you walk ok in them?

2. What factor suncream do you take for the cruise? I dont normally bother in Florida in October. Would 15 be high enough?

3. Who packs their first nights clothes in their carry on incase the cases dont turn up in time?? Has this ever happened to anyone?

4. I have short fine hair - will I be ok with the room hairdryer or is it REALLY useless?

5. what nights have dessert buffets?

6. How come you put sweet and savoury on one plate at brekkie:scared: - eg waffles and sausage:scared: - can I get 2 plates instead without looking greedy?

7. Eggs - what do you call an egg which has a solid white but a runny yellow?

8. What are egg beaters?:confused3

9. How quick is drycleaning? - eg if Neil drops lobster on his ONLY pair of black trousers, how quickly can he get them back for Palo and formal night etc?

10. What is sweet pizza in Palo?

11. Is there iced tap water on the table at dinner or do you have to ask for it? Who hates the tap water and only drinks bottled onboard?

12. What the heck is orange roughy?:confused3

13. Do you usually eat all 4 courses? if not do you just sit there while your fellow diners (Jeff:goodvibes ) scoff the course you've skipped?

14. Brekkie and lunch - Topsiders v Parrot Cay v Lumieres? - which one and why?

15. What time is the 2nd evening show?

16. What time does the sailaway party finish? We have to get ready for early dining?

17.Kids club - when do you take them on the first day if you have already registered and when do you get the pager?

Thats all for now folks:rolleyes1

Sunny-side up eggs will have a runny yolk...
8. What are egg beaters?:confused3
Egg beaters are a brand of egg substitute, basically just egg whites with a little bit of coloring. They have a lot fewer calories and cholesterol than a whole egg.

I "believe" it is a type of fish...

Those are the only ones I can answer...I'm a first time cruiser!

Good morning all. It looks like I will be busy at work today (catching up on 30+ pages!!:scared1: ) I have to get going now to take the kids to the sitter and start my commute. Talk at ya later. :)

Yep I will retire from being an ultrasound technologist and then work at Disneyworld part time :cloud9: Seeing how Al is 9 years older than I it would be nice if I could retire "early" and we could move down to FL and then we could supplement our retirement income by my working at WDW and Al working at Sea World. A girl can dream, we'll see what actually happens ;)

I didn't realize you were an u/s tech. How did you get into it?? That's what I've been looking in to going back to school for.

Do you guys remember the Planky video???

Well I did a second version, one that I can post on my live trip report so that the rest of the DIS can see it.

Here's the link: http://www.cassworld.ca/videos/kk-v2.wmv

If you've only joined our thread in the last few months, you have no idea what I am talking about right??

Hmm, well Plankton is our official Konked Kruiser mascot. He belongs to Brenda and Jason but Karen plans on kidnapping him just before the cruise and bringing him on the cruise with us. I had a little fun one week-end and put a little video together.

Hope you enjoy!

Worked just fine on this end. Love it Cass. It always makes me laugh.:rotfl:

Evening everyone,

Thanks to all for the kind words about my dog. We had her surgical consultation today, felt the surgeon really knew about this kind of thing. It'll will be a while before we know more, so it's just a waiting game now. Surgery to remove the tumor is on Monday.

Steve - like the new avatar. I've got "Bear Necessities" ringing through my head!

Cass - tried to watch the Planky video, but the link doesn't seem to be working.

I've been reading some other threads about how much later cruise documents are being received. Some people aren't getting them until 7-10 days before the sailing! :scared1: How will that affect those of you that are going to Orlando earlier than that?

Well - just a quick drop by to say hi. Now I'm off to bed. Been a long day! 'Nite!

I think there are many who share this dream with us, Cheryl!:cloud9:

Count me in ladies.:thumbsup2

According to my doctor, an SPF 15 is just fine. He recommends it for me. Anything over a 15 is a marketing gimic.

3. Who packs their first nights clothes in their carry on incase the cases dont turn up in time?? Has this ever happened to anyone?
We do including formal wear.
4. I have short fine hair - will I be ok with the room hairdryer or is it REALLY useless? Yes, so do I.

5. what nights have dessert buffets?

6. How come you put sweet and savoury on one plate at brekkie:scared: - eg waffles and sausage:scared: - can I get 2 plates instead without looking greedy? Absolutely!

7. Eggs - what do you call an egg which has a solid white but a runny yellow?

8. What are egg beaters?:confused3 Egg Whites colored yellow for lower calories and cholesterol

I'll drink either. It's my beverage of choice. I'm such a cheap date.
12. What the heck is orange roughy?:confused3 My "last supper":thumbsup2 It is fish Karen. The best fish if you ask me.

13. Do you usually eat all 4 courses? if not do you just sit there while your fellow diners (Jeff:goodvibes ) scoff the course you've skipped?

14. Brekkie and lunch - Topsiders v Parrot Cay v Lumieres? - which one and why?

Just a quick check in. Off to see how much damage I did on our getaway last weekend. It was wicked!! Good luck Losers.

Thanks everyone for answering my numerous questions:thumbsup2

More to follow tomorrow no doubt:rolleyes1

Karen,

One more note to add regarding sunscreen...

I have heard that anything over SPF 15 is a marketing gimmick, so I thought I would be JUST FINE with SPF 30 in Mexico in 2001....

WRONG! I burned horribly in the tropical sun! My sunburn was the kind you could feel the heat radiating off my skin! I bought an SPF 70 in the gift shop, and used it on my face, shoulders and arms, and it did protect me better.

Now, I do have fair skin and burn very easily (I will never have to budget for a tanning bed, there's no point!:lmao: ) but I could tell the difference between the SPF 30 and 70 in protection. This trip we're going with SPF 45-50....

So I called DCL. There helped me a little but they can not give me much infor based on the fact that I have a TA and they can get fired if they give me info that a TA should be giving me. Drama I swear.

This is what she told me. On the 19th we will be leaving Phx. at 8:56 am on US Airway, direct flight into Orlando arriving 4:10 pm.

Comming home we will be US Airway leaving 11:50 and have a stop in Scharlet (sp) and then getting home around 3:50.

She can not give me reservation numbers or seat numbers. I could care less about the seat and reservation numbers. I need the flight numbers to book the shuttle and she could not give me that either.

1. Are the decks slippy? - it says wear non slip shoes. Do all you ladies take heels? - can you walk ok in them? I have always taken heels for dinner. I manage to walk in them just fine on the decks. Dh and I have even been known to find little quite spots on the decks to slow dance and I do that just fine in the heels also.

2. What factor suncream do you take for the cruise? I dont normally bother in Florida in October. Would 15 be high enough?

3. Who packs their first nights clothes in their carry on incase the cases dont turn up in time?? Has this ever happened to anyone?

over easy, sunny side up or poached.

12. What the heck is orange roughy?:confused3 It is a fish. Very yummy. This is the first fish I ever really liked but it is hard to find here. It is a white fish.

13. Do you usually eat all 4 courses? if not do you just sit there while your fellow diners (Jeff:goodvibes ) scoff the course you've skipped?

14. Brekkie and lunch - Topsiders v Parrot Cay v Lumieres? - which one and why?

I answered what I could in red.

I guess I will wait and see if I hear from the TA today. If not I will be sending her an email next week. I don't want to get mean with her but I think I will have to get demanding on that fact that she needs to do her job instead of me doing it all. What the heck am I paying her for anyway. I deserve the commission off this one.

The lady at DCL did say that the docs will be printed in the next 5 days. Those of you that did not use a TA should be getting your docs sometime the first week of Oct. Those of us who did use a TA. It will go to the TA around the first week of Oct. Then depending on your TA's schedual they have to review everything and make sure it is correct. She said your TA should contact you about the 2nd week of Oct. to let you know they are in and set a time up with you to come get them and go over them.

That means we will not have ours in hand until the 12th because of our work scheduals which means that is a week to our departure date. I think I might check into parking a vehicle at the airport and seeing if that is cheaper then taking the shuttle.
