I guess I need the deoderant this morning. I'm going to check on my laundry :laundy: I'll check back here later.

Glad to hear your dad is content for now. Here's a  for your mom. It must be so very hard to have both parents sick at the same time. It was hard enough to have one parent sick and in the nursing home I can't imagine both. Here's another :grouphug: for you guys.

No, not yet. They put him on a med that they use for people who are bi-polar. So they have to monitor him at the hospital for a couple more days. He's pretty content right now. He just says, "I'v never been in this house before, it's pretty nice." Mom is missing him though. She had the nurse call our house fri. night because she was upset and we were staying the night at our son's babysitting. We got the message the next morning... so I went immediately to the nursing home. She was fine and doesn't remember calling me. (surprise, surprise)

Barring any weird things happening...:scared:

I am hoping to get some things done for the cruise today, like our shirts. Everytime I plan on doing them, something comes up.

I did lose 1 lb this week. I haven't even put it on the kk site.

Boards are processing slow once again. I can't even get the smiles to work. :headache:

I noticed Karen was asking who was celebrating their anniversary on the cruise. We're celebrating ours, too.

We've gotten so much support from all of you on the boards. Not only that... We've all become good friends. I'm hoping we will continue to keep in touch following the cruise. Mike and I enjoy talking to everyone. :)

I probably won't actually start packing until Wed. night or Thur. I'm not going to have Nancy iron everything for me :lmao: only to have it sit in a suitcase and get all wrinkled. With my niece getting married the weekend before the cruise things will be a bit hectic for us right before so I will make sure before then that we have everything we need ready to put in the suitcases but I am usually up late the night before packing. I will need to drop Al's suit off at the dry cleaners Mon. morning after the wedding and get it back by Wed. I better check if Rachel and my dresses are washable or dry clean only because we are wearing the dresses we got for the wedding on formal night.

Suz and I are usually the same way. We're up until 1:00 only to have to be at the airport by 6:30. I think the excitement keeps us up also.

This last cruise, we actually did get done before the night before. That is our goal this time. I will actually leave the suitcases upstairs from last weekends trip and bring the larger ones up and leave them on the guest bed. We'll put stuff in like fins, masks, snorkels, etc. over the next few weeks, but the bulk won't be done until the last minute.

Lumpia??? OMG!! It's been years since I had lumpia. I had a friend from the Phillipines who used to make them and they were delish!!!:yay:

I have at least 2 pages to myself but there are some others who have more.:cheer2:

I had a friend who taught me how to make them. They are soooo yummy. Right now I have them from my Phillipines friends daughter who made them frozen as a fund raiser. Hahahahaha I could bring some onto the ship but i doubt we could get anyone to fry them for us. LOL

Here is my thought. And it is just a thought. But if you want the door signs you could design it yourself and then email it to me and I could print them for you and either send them to you in the mail or bring them with us and give them to you at the DIS meet. It is up to you. The offer is out there on the shirts also. I agree that $50 is a lot to spend on ink and then turn around and buy shirts and transfer paper. I do take the easy way out on the door signs though. I print them on paper, laminate it and then use put magnets ont he back of it.

That is a great idea about laminating it and then adding magnets to the back of it. Ihave tons of magnets that just stick to the back of things. (Anyone who knows a realtor or anyone else that uses those calendars that you stick your business card to... they punch out the middle part before adding the card to save postage and those are great for crafts.)

She is doing much better, thanks for asking. She had her radition treatment 4 weeks ago. She is doing so much better since then. It took about 2 weeks for her to notice any changes. But her weight is holding even now for 3 weeks. She is gradually getting more energy. She said last night that she is actually feeling like she might be able to get on the ship. She is talking on the phone with me for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. She has vac the bathrooms. She has been told she can not vac carpet for 6 months from the surgery, but she is sweep and moping and running erronds on her own now. It is almost like nothing every happened. She does still have some slight memory problems but that is improving also.

I'm glad to hear that she is doing a bit better.

Oh boy!! I won't be the shortest one--I'm only 5 feet!!

I'll join you on that shortie list :goodvibes - I'm just 5'3"

Looking for something fun for us to do after the cruise. Anyone know where I can find info on Cirque du Soleil at DTD? I googled it and I couldn't find the right one.

Does it still exist at DTD? Anyone have a link for me?:confused3

It is a fabulous show - worth every penny. If you get the chance I would see it. We had seats near the back - the cheap seats - they were fine. No need for expensive ones. Its not that big a venue.

Karen

Here is your little window helper

Welcome. We're from Birmingham. Hubby Neil and ds Ellis age 7. Its our first cruise too. An excellent book to buy is the CRUISE Passporter - jammed with tips and info.

Hello everyone,

I thought I would finally join the ranks of the KK spouses who joined in recently.

By my screen name, you can probably guess who I am already.

Go ahead and guess. Whoever guesses correctly first will win a free drink from the person who has posted the most on this thread. (Thanks Jeff).

I guess Chuck - am I right?

I noticed Karen was asking who was celebrating their anniversary on the cruise. We're celebrating ours, too.

OCT 18TH - 32 YEARS - AM I RIGHT?

Thanks Cheryl

So wasn't it just a few months ago when I told you all the story of the motorcycle accident we witnessed where the man died?

Last night, Chuck and I witnessed yet another one! We were the second car up on the accident. A kid was driving one of those Crotch Rockets (without a helmet) and slammed into the side of a huge pickup truck. Again, a girl ran out of the first car with a medical bag in hand. Same senario as the first accident. I ran over to see if there was anything I could do too. Poor kid's head was just gushing blood. It was actually running down the street. He was breathing but not conscious. The only differences in this story was there was no "Flight for Life" called (probably because there was no room for a helicopter to land there) and we detected the smell of alcohol. I don't know if this kid will make it either. He was horribly hurt. The accident happened about 2 blocks from SIL/BIL's house and Chuck's brother rides a bike too. Of course, that's the first thing that goes through your mind.

We also don't know if the kid or the man in the truck were the drinkers or maybe even the chick who stopped to help with the medical bag.:confused3

WEAR YOUR DARN HELMETS PEOPLE!!!!:sad1:

Mary and I came across a motorcycle accident as well. It has been a little over a year but the vision still haunts us and the screaming roar of a motorcyle passing us causes us to hold our breath. There is a cross on the side of the hwy where he died... and the orange circle on the side of the road is gone as is the smaller one where his leg was left behind. But we still get quiet on that piece of road.

I have never seen an accident (thank god) but am in total agreement with the helmet laws. I just wish that parents would enforce it with there kids. Any of this could happen to a child riding a bike, scooter, skateboard, or roller blades. I am constanly telling kids if I catch them without a helmet again they won't be able to ride there transportation of choice device to school, it is actually state law here in CA. Scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades are actually not allowed on campus per policy. I just cringe thinking that I will here on the radio or get a call that one of our kids got hurt, and even more hurt without a helmet.

I so agree. I make my kids wear them and they used to complain that the other kids weren't. Not long ago there was a father that got onto a skateboard to show his kid how to ride it and fell and hit his head and died.

I am so loving looking at all the pictures on here. I'm glad that I decided to try to catch up with all the pages now.
