trip report continued. heres a pic of robin as we head out to sea.
she really needs this vacation.
time to get ready for dinner.
i know we are eating with walt and di again. cass's plan to link up some dissers on the same rotation worked out great.:thumbsup2
its going to be a great week!!!
couldnt believe we have the same servers we had last cruise. Subash and Everlee. they remembered how i dont like my food touching and promised to take care of me all week.:thumbsup2
as a joke, during dinner we went up to rob and cass and asked for their autograph and that seemed to impress robs family.

First suggestion, you can get in the park at 4:00 (maybe it's 4:30). Check the Theme Park board and look for MNSSHP.

I personally like Liberty Tree Tavern, however, being this late in the process, you may not be able to get a reservation.

We had one there before they went to the new format of keeping the regular park open until 7:00 (they use to shut down at 6:00, get everyone out except the MNSSHP guest - which they put into Tomorrowland). We got out of dinner at 6:50 and headed straight for Splash Mtn. There was NO line. I didn't do it, but I could have had our picture taken in the boat with NO ONE in line behind us. I believe we rode it right away again without getting out of the boat.

Now that the park doesn't close, there is no benefit to being in a back restaurant.

I just like it because I think it has the best food of the sit-downs.

We've done Crystal Palace, Cinderella's Table, and Liberty Tree. We have Tony's Town Square for an upcoming trip (Suz wanted something different). The only other sit-down in MK would be the Plaza Restaurant.

is it worth doing a sit down dinner as time is so tight - maybe its better to just grab something fast to eat at Starlights or something like that? We are going to eat so well on teh cruise, I am thinking that we skip a fancy restaurant - what do other people think?

Depends on what time you're getting there. Remember, the party runs from 7:00 to midnight. If you eat before hand, you should only need about 1:00-1:30. It is nice to sit down and relax.

If you go counter, Peco Bills (Frontier Land) has the best burgers with a lot of toppings and I believe it is Cosmic Rays (Tomorrowland) has the most selection.

Just noticed I'm over 3,000 posts on this thread alone. :scared1:

I need a life or for this cruise to get here.

we always just ate on the run. didnt want to take away from the trick or treating.pirate: but hey, thats just us.
we are going to miss mnsshp this time.:sad2:

Movie time. I'm off.

Next post will be the top of the page.

Good luck to whomever gets it.

That's why we do dinner before MNSSHP starts at 7:00.

Don't get a ressie after 5:30.

We bought the full 10-day, park hopping, no expiration, with waterpark and more option. Had them paid for before the price increase (got lucky). I would go for the full shootin match on them. It is not like you'll not use them.

It brings the per day cost on the Park portion to around $40. Then you have 10 days of waterparks, Disney Quest, Pleasure Island, and I think mini-golf on top of that for free (or just look at a lower per day park ticket).

They will only go up next year. I think this years increase was around 10%. Not a bad return on your money if you go every year.

Just my thought.

With our DVC discount it would be cheaper to do premium annual passes but still $1,600 for all of us. The ten day passes would be $2,400. That's half another cruise. Thanks for the idea though, maybe we'll win the lottery tonight and we'll live at WDW:rotfl: :rotfl2:

TIP:

Pack a clear shoe organizer to hang over the bathroom door in your stateroom. The pockets can be used to organize everyone’s bathroom supplies (to keep the bathroom a little less cluttered) as well as all those things you put down and can’t seem to find as you are heading out the door. [Editor’s Note: You may want to bring two—one to hang in your bathroom for toiletries and one to hang in your closet for shoes.]

I never unpacked mine and use it on the back of my bathroom door now. We have limited bathroom space and this has really helped keep my counter clean. I will have to buy a new one for this cruise. They have them 2 for 10 at Wal-mart, at least they did last time time I looked.

Sorry, I'm winning the $300 million tonight.

Don't you get a discount on the MYW tickets? Only Annual passes?

So you get a 33% discount on Annual Passes? WOW that's a deal.

Wow did the MYW go up with the last price increase.

If you got a discount on the MYW, I'd say go for those since you could use them for more than one year.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

Does anyone have any great plans/strategies on how to best enjoy the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom? I know we need to see the fireworks and the parade but any more suggestions? best restaurant for dinner? must do special events that take place?

Thanks
JEssalynn

We are going the 18th and eating at LTT. We like that because you can exit right tot he parade and the start of the night. We are eating at 5:45 so we should end right at 7 pm. WE booked this back in May so you may have to keep trying for a cancellation. I just canceled a 6:30 Crystal Palace last week it might still be open. We always go to the haunted house first and then work around the Magic Kingdom and through Toon town. We had so much candy last time we left some behind in the room. This time it will be my late night chocolate fix on the ship.

The 5 of us plus my Mother are going on the 18th as well. Our flight is scheduled to arrive around 3pm, then my Mom is picking us up and driving us to disney. Kids are very excited - I think I have my 8 year old convinced he can handle Space Mountain (reminded him that i did it in 1976 when I was 8!!!)

its our only time at WDW for this trip so I want to ensure I make the most of it - even told my 65 year old Mom that I was bringing a costume for her. Kids are very excited.

You may want to rethink this ride. We took it the last time we were there and it was not the same as the way it was when we were kids. Unless they have recently updated it, we went Oct of 05, it was very rocky, I actually hurt my neck and back. The technology has improved so much that the other roller-coaster rides are so much smoother that this one seems rocky. We have Sean, DS6, convinced he will love Splash Mountain. We'll see if he actually gets on.

Here is the link to what I have, but I got mine at Walmart. They don't have them on their website but they have them in the store

I don't have to send her on a mission she does it all on her own. I am sure by the time we get there the bus driver is going to be sick of her talking to the driver the whole way there about the ship, when are we going to be there, Mickey and Minnie that the driver might just kick us out as soon as the bus stops.

That sounds a bit familiar. My son has non-stop questions. Some are really hard!

Ok my fellows KK's. Be patient with me here. Here is a list of KK's I pulled off of Yahoo who signed up for the wine tasting. Admittedly, I did not really pay any attention to Linda's plans, all I know is that I thought it would be fun to meet up with everyone again.

I know NOTHING about wine, nor do I want to taste it either. But, I WILL do anything for our Linda. May I ask for a volunteer to assist me a little here? Preferably someone who knows something about wine.

Until Linda contacts me, I have no idea what, when, where, or why we are doing this. :rotfl2: I do, however, know who:

Jeff---1 non-drinker and 1 drinker
Nancy---2 non drinkers
Linda---2 drinkers
Lori---2 drinkers
Dave (The Fat Man)---4 drinkers (Does this include Heather & Rick?)
Cheryl---4 drinkers (I'm thinking Lurking Lynn is included here???)
Karen---2 drinkers
Rose---2 drinkers
Janice---2 drinkers
Paige---2 drinkers
Carrie---2 drinkers
Missy---4 drinkers
Jessalynn-1 drinker
Cinnamike & Robin---two non drinkers
Chris---2 drinkers
Tina---1 non-drinker
Abby---2 drinkers
Sean---2 drinkers
Cass---1 non-drinker
and Victoria---2 drinkers

That looks like 43 already. I have no idea of the limit either. I think I remember that the non-drinkers might also have to pay but I don't know how much.

Lotta help I am huh??

So, all I can say at this time is if you are not listed on here and you want to partake please PM me and let me know if you are drinkers or non-drinkers. If there is room, I will gladly add you to the list. Since I don't know the limit, I guess first to PM, first serve.

Drink up kids!!

Wow! I didn't realize that there were over 40 of us! That's going to be a big DIS meet!

BTW, good job to everyone to keep the thread moving today. We didn't make huge gains on the next group, but we have it down to about 320. It was 350+ last night or this morning, so I think we can get them.

My goal was by Labor Day. Think we can do it?

No prob. My contribution wasn't a whole lot but It helped me to vent!

Actually we had them jumping right outside our window while we were pulling into Key West. We had a Cat 9, Deck 2 room and we could see them right outside our window. Very cool. I can't remember if we got any picks. I'll look tonight.

That would be awesome. If we see that on our cruise, it will be worth staying in cat 9 as opposed to upgrading to a verandah.

I'm going to try to find a passporter. Can you get it at a regular book store?

The Book version is easy to find in a bookstore. The Binder version will need to be ordered.

I see we lost our lurkers. Boy I love the Buddy List.

I guess that I will be busted from lurking then.

You're like a bad penny, showing up always at the wrong time.

No pic, but I picked one up at Target. They had quite a few versions of them but I got the cheap plastic one. (That way I don't feel bad about trashing it after the cruise.) I think it was bet $5 and $10.

Nancy did I see that you guys are coming to the Dells tomorrow?? Do you have certain plans, or just walking around...it's not Wo-zha-ha days yet. That's not until 14-16th. We like to go walk around for that. Have you ever eaten at the Moose Jaw??

Movie is over.

Boy was it bad.

Had some good parts, but overall, glad it was free.

Went to Columbia, CA today. A historic town above Sonora. It was founded in the 1850's when the gold rush hit. It was primarily a mining town. Had a great time. I'll post a few pics.
