Do you have any idea why my little smiley guys don't animate? Help!

When Mike saw them on my son's computer, he said "Hey, I didn't know these guys moved. I want ours to move."

Let me get this straight: The smileys work on some computers but not yours? In other words when you are looking at the same page on two different computers, the smiles are animated on one but not the other? Are both computers using Internet Explorer? or is one using another type of browser such as FireFox? If they have the same browser then it may be an out of date Internet Explorer. For saftey's sake you should be using Internet Explorer 7 (it's the most secure of the Microsoft browsers.) If you are up to date there, then I would suggest you go to Tools:Internet Options: Advanced

The scroll down and make sure that you have Java Enabled. (you may have either the Java option [preferred you can DL on the Sun Microsystems website] or just a Microsoft VM then you want the JIT compiler enabled and the Java console enabled. [Check the boxes] Then scroll down a bit further and make sure that under Multimedia you have "play animations in webpages" enabled. That should do it.

Hey, I got my Pirate Ensemble together today. I have to say, other than a slightly large shirt, It looks freakin' awesome. I cannot wait to wear it on the ship.

Oh before I leave..........On our way to meet Paige today Missy and I were so excited. We were talking about how much fun it was going to be having lunch with someone from the boards. Then we realized in a few short weeks we will be meeting all of you. We wondered what that feeling would be. If we were this excited to meet one person we won't be able to contain ourselves when meeting everyone. So, watch yourselves in the terminal because we will be on the watch and chasing you down to greet you KK style!!!

Can't wait to see everyone!!!!!!

Isn't it such a great time to finally meet people that you have talked to on the computer??? Our first meet in WI, we sat for hours talking just like we had known each other for years, and could have stayed there for more, but am certain the restaurant was glad to get rid of us. I can't wait til we meet again in a couple more weeks and even more WI families can make it. The closer the cruise gets, the more exciting it gets. Can't wait to meet everyone.

Had to do a complete restart. Slower then anything. But during my restart the system went through some kind of check and maintaince. (Whoops I have not done a shutdown, or restart since I got cable internet). But mysteriously now the manual I want to look at opens.

Certain things that are loaded do require a restart of the system.

Since you are leaving the computer "always on" have you set your system into S3 mode? It's a powersaving mode that will efficiently power your computer down to almost no powerusage but then fire back up again quickly when you want to start using it again.

Just wanted to say a big THANKS to Paige for meeting Lori and I for lunch. We really had a great time......like we have always known each other!! We had a lot of laughs and can't wait to meet up again in October! If anyone else out there can manage it, I highly recommend a mini dis meet!!! It really gets you charged up for vacation. CAN'T WAIT TO MEET EVERYONE!!! We are gonna have such a fun time !!!!

Thanks, Lori. I had a great time, too. I only wish we had longer to chat.

If it freezes up on S3 then you've probably got an outdated BIOS. I'd just leave it alone. If it ain't broke...yada yada yada.

I'm running 4 computers on a regular basis at home. (One of which (mine) is a 550 watt monster) I like the energy savings that the S3 mode delivers.

I really dislike our library. The hours are horrible for working people. That and the teacher gave me a list of 9 books to have her work on. They have 2. I guess I will check Scott's library of books upstairs and see if I can find any to take with us this weekend. I should have checked there first.
