Susan, when you are reading I'm sure you are like I guess Lori and Missy work together. We have for the past alsmot 6 years. We both love Disney and this will be our third time taking a disney vacation together with our families. We have become very good friends and our husbands are also very good friends.

That is really neat. Have you kept in contact with people from the boards from the other cruises? Our first cruise was great, but I don't think we came out of our shell enough to get to know people until the end. We were so lost on most things and trying to keep up with the kids etc.

I do have trouble right now figuring out who people are by names... I try to put the name with the pictures on the side. hahahaha I got cinnimike down because I thought the Ariel had something to do with the name. Go figure right? Anyway, I guess I will head to bed....funny, I started the board this morning and now I'm ending it...

Scott here, That would be us in AZ. When it is freaking 91 degrees at 6:00 in the morning, you just want to share the wealth. So if you want the heat gone, send the cool weather down here.

Oh to make it worse the humidty shot up to 15%, it might go up now that the monsoons are moving in.

DCL has two new ships coming out in 2011 and 2012 (I think) and the rumour is that one of them may be doing Alaska cruises in the summer. That's probably the only way I will ever get to Alaska.

I was SO MAD when they took the "2000" down but I was glad that they at least put something similar up to replace it. Now that's gone now too!

Any trips to Alaska would have to happen after about 2015. The new ships I believe are post-panamax, meaning they are wider than the current lock system. They are supposed to be building a 3rd set of locks that would hold the larger ships, but from the rumors I've read (on the DIS) it won't be done until around 2015.

So, to get the new ships to the west coast prior to that, they'd have to sail around the tip of South America. They already take 2 weeks gong through the canal, I'd have to guess it would be more like 4-5 weeks then to go around the tip with stops. Anyone up for a month on the Magic?

Maybe they will retro fit the Magic or Wonder so that it is set for the colder temps of an Alaskan voyage.

I also thought I read that the two new ships would do Caribbean cruises and the Magic and Wonder would be sent out to do "special" cruises. Or that one may be stationed in LA permanently. If that's the case, I hope they purchase "la isla castaway" off the coast of Baja Mexico.
