AT LAST a FULL retraction and apology letter is in my hand !!!!





I am soooo pleased! at last.... the meeting was really weird , the head teacher didnt want to come in, and was made to enter the room , as the senior educational welfare lady made her! She was almost in tears before anyone said anything! She mubbled an apology, but she then had to explain why she had written such bad things, she said she didnt know? I asked what we did that was aggressive and rude and wait for it, it was cos we called her a head mistress!!!! yep you read right, cos at the meeting we asked " As a head mistress, what are you going to do to provide a duty of care for Elouise in the playground? " she was shaking and so upset that she left the room. I was gob smacked, that was it "head mistress!" anyway even the council lady said not to worry, you have your apology and letter. The letter invites me to come back and help in the school, yere right !!!

Good news Elouise had an e mail form her new head teacher, and she is in Owls class with Mrs Cleary, from Sept. She goes to the school Tue and wed afternoon next week, to have a look around and settle in a bit.

Oh yes I have one pressie already, me and my mate Lyn.. well shes taking me to Monto Carlo for a week ! We fly from Bristol to Nice in France, we then fly by helicopter to our hotel ( which has a hei pad on the top of) in Monto Carlo. We go the 24th Sep..... what a great warm up for Florida !!

Hiya

I'm back at the gym. Havent done any swimming or gyming, just dissing!

Emptied the storage unit today so loads of humping

We are getting there slowly, but I'm sure the boxes multiplied in that unit. I dont remember packing half of it and now I dont know where to put it now its out

We are having a dozen trees ripped out of the garden on saturday and the loft boarded next thursday so things are happening slowly. We'll be sorted by christmas. Just in time to get it all out the loft again to decorate the house

we are having a hard enough time keeping up with just the one grandchild

we have 4 more in California. (8,9,13,15 year old) dont get to see them too often. nice graduation pictures Averys mom. also pretty Miss Canada. Went to the fireworks at Fiesta Texas last night with the kids and daughter. Never realized how beatiful Disneys is.

WOW you are amazingly organized on vacations....I barely can plan 1 at a time.

the drawbacks of missing school really depends on the child and parent - I am pretty hands on so I will have no problem getting the kids to do some schoolwork on Wednedsday ngiht and Thursday while travelling while I know some kids that would never do work for their parents - they need the formality of the school environment.

I think sometimes its good for a kid to have a parent go over a homework lesson with them instead of just the teacher -gives them a different teaching style

We talk to DS's teacher and get all his homework that he'll miss the week we're gone about a week before we leave (when we go in Jan, we got it before Xmas break) and complete it before we even leave.

Last trip, the teacher wanted a journal kept. So every night before dinner, we spent time completing that day's entry.

I'm more concerned on what the school/teacher thinks and as they get older, there is more things they cover in a week or day. Just concerned on falling behind, which at this point in school, 1st grade last year, he was always ahead - they move too slow on some subjects.

We always said after about 3rd or 4th grade we'd stop pulling him out for long periods of time. Maybe a day here or there only after that point.

Fantastic news Linda!! I'm so happy for all of you. One question though..why does she have to wait until September to go to the new school. Is E on break until then or is Mrs Cleary the new teacher for the fall semester?

What we do sometimes if there is a chair that is empty but we dont like the spot and a "Taken chair" in good spot - we sometime will just switch teh chairs on them

Just a note to first timers, if you think when you get to Castaway Cay you are in the first row of chairs, you're wrong. Everyone will move them in front of you closer to the water.

Actually Jeff, I am the kind of person who gets verbal to those who save the seats. I also tell people off in the grocery store, you know the ones who park their cart in the MIDDLE of the aisle and then leave it to go shopping 7 feet down....I know...I'm a grumpy beeeeotch That's why I am a loner, I don't get along with most people. Rob keeps saying "I'm glad you liked ME!!!!"

Last cruise, we got our seats about 30 mins before the show ( I wanted to be in the middle to take NON-flash pics) and this family of 3 comes about 20 mins later next to us and proceeds to try to save the entire row! People keep trying to sit there and the guy keeps telling them that they were saved Finally it's about 2 mins to showtime and people are still trying to grab a seat so I said VERY loudly..."I guess he doesn't know that there is NO SEAT SAVING in the theatre!!!!"

He turns to me and says really snarky-like "Realllllly??? No seat saving huh??? Do you have that in writing somewhere???"

I replied "YES, I do actually, you should try reading your Navigator sometime or does the Navigator not apply to you either???"

But to be honest, the seat saving policy only applies to the Theatre and the Sun loungers, not the bars BUT I am not talking about trying to save 5 tables or anything...Just maybe getting a table for 4 or 6, since it's only Rob and I and then having a couple of extra chairs for some KKers that want to join us


And I won't be joining you guys at 7am My prime hours are from 10pm till 4 am. And if by some miracle I can drag by wretched body out of bed at 7am, I will be heading to the workout room for some MUCH needed elliptical time!!!

I have no problem of a group of 6-8 holding 2 seats. It is when 1 or 2 holding seats for 6-10. How did the Theatre issue end? Did the guy shut up? Did anyone sit in the seats?

I will have to make sure I always have a Navigator or two handy with me at all times. We'll have ban together as KK's. If any of us see someone challenging a KK, we'll have to go back them up. Maybe we'll have to go around in pairs or groups. Hey, we can then be called a gang.

BTW, I hear you about the grocery carts. I am always moving ours right up against the shelves. Others just leave it where ever they feel pleased.
