Cass, loved those photos of Kira:thumbsup2

And you know.....that's exactly what I think of squash too!
Bet she'd much prefer the banana baby food:banana:

Jessalynn, I think you have the oldest teen (that's been posting here lately)
so far, that is anywhere near my son's age. Sean will have just turned 17.

I am so hoping he finds someone to hang out with. Because he is not outgoing enough to introduce himself to new people and would never go into the teen club alone.

Better question would be, where is everyone on the day you went to MK?

That is a very quiet Main Street.

Maybe it's you. :rotfl2: Just kidding.

That picture was taken in the very last week of August (like August 28th or 29th) in 2006. The Florida kids were in their first or second week of school so very few local people at the park. Across most of the US, school often starts the last week of August so very few Americans overall were travelling that week. But in CANADA, we start school after Labour Day (the first Monday in September) so we all flock to WDW (woo hoo).

It was the absolute best time to be there - we had no lines - many times we went to rides that have the FASTPASS system and the FASTPASS would be closed as you could just walk right on the ride. Even new rides like Soarin only had about a 10 minute wait. We went on Goofy's Barnstormer 5 times without even getting off the ride. We went on Big Thunder Railroad twice without getting off. I almost felt cheated as I had spent so much time planning the best way to get around the park to avoid lines and didnt really need to.

The weather was hot but not unbearable. We went to the parks in the AM, went back to the hotel to swim after lunch, and the back to the parks around 4pm and stayed late.

We said we would never go to WDW again unless we go at that time. BUT THEN......I learned about the Halloween party and we decided we had to go for that.

Jessalynn,

Great photos! You have beautiful kids!!!

As for MNSSHP, don't miss the fireworks, they are the best!!! Most rides are open that night and the biggest tip: you can get in (with your MNSSHP tix) as early as 4pm usually, so that gives you an extra 3 hours of park time if you aren't using a regular park ticket that day. :woohoo:

Thanks

We fly into the orlando airport at 3:10pm on the 18th and will be picked up by my folks. We will drive directly to Disney so I hope to do be there around 430pm/5pm.

Whats your favourite restaurant for dinner that night? Do any of the restaurants do anythign special for Halloween?

Our schools (public) here in WI are suppose to start after Labor Day (state law), but our DS goes to private so they start the Tuesday before. He is off on the Friday of Labor Day weekend, so we're looking into going that weekend. Not sure what the parks will be like then. Anyone know? :confused3 We are only looking at going to the Major Parks on that Sunday, with Saturday at Blizzard. Might do Friday at Typhoon but not sure. They have the Pirate and Princess Party that Friday, so MK will be capacity controlled for that event, so getting our fill of MK will done that night. Still looking into it though.

Maybe in 2009 we'll be able to go down for a 5 night trip at the end of August. This year we have the cruise in October and we did one back in January, so DW's vacation is being used up. Next year is the EB Repo Cruise from CA to FL, so that is 2 weeks at the end of August.

My audit is normally the 2nd week of August, so a trip down the Wed of the 3rd week through Sun would be perfect for us. Have Mon off with DS at home before he goes back on that Tues.

Definitely have to look into that!

Hey Jeff!

Did you have any of those yucky storms yesterday in Hartland? I thought my car was going to blow over on the way home from work yesterday. We had lots of tree branches down, our garbage cans were in the neighbors yard and the recycle bin is gone completely.

I heard things were worse in our southern counties. Victoria? Judy? You guys ok?? I think Cheryl is in FL so she escaped witnessing it all-together.

I'll bet we don't even hear from Victoria today. I think they lost power and it's estimatedto be like that for 1-2 days!!:eek:Off to bike away the Orange Frappacino I had at Starbucks yesterday. Have a great day.:)

Thanks for worrying about us, but we are fine. We did have some fantastic storms, but no problems with power. Again, no damage to our roof either. Aarghhh!!!

Here's a question from Kristin:

Where can she get her passport stamped on the Western? How is this done?

Oh Nancy, sorry to hear about your shoes, I have a Golden and that sounds like something she would do. Is Cabo still a puppy?

Janice, Cabo turned two years old on June 14th so I guess he's still a puppy. From what I heard, Labs take about 3 years until they grow out of the "puppy stage".

Good morning everyone!!! My sister gave birth this morning at 2:09 to my newest niece!!!!!!!!! :cloud9: 8lbs 8oz, 22 inches long. Both mom and baby girl are healthy!! She actually delivered on her due date! :upsidedow

Congrats Cass!! Is this the mommy who got the great diaper cake for her shower? What's the baby's name? That will be so nice for Kira to have a little cousin her age to play with. I'm sure her Nan is watching over both her little "dollies" now.

Names I havent seen in a while:

I used to keep track of people who joined our board but so many come on and only post a few times then disappear. What ever happened to:

thefatman
firefighter chris
all5ofus
mollygirl13
chibben2003

I hope they still come to the DIS meet on the ship

Jessalynn, Firefighter Chris and chibben 2003 are the same person. He had to change his screen name awhile back. Maybe some of these KK's will start posting again as we get closer to the cruise.:confused3

Better question would be, where is everyone on the day you went to MK?

I was thinking the same thing. It looks like a great time to visit.

Carrie: When do we get the answers to the abbreviations you posted yesterday?

I'd say you have to cut back on the Cinnamon and increase your daily dose of Rockin' Robin (not to be confused with Rock n Rye).
Signed: Dr. N :rotfl:
:

thanks dr... problem is robin left for cinncinati today on business and wont be back till fri. and im off work the rest of the week as we had a major breakdown. so its just me and the dog. i guess ill be dising all week.

cass.. great pictures. GOT SQUASH!!!!. we mix up the bad stuff with the fruit and try to trick our grandaughter.princess:

stll no lindy loo huh? we have been thinking about her. thats rough.:sad2:
we were thinking about when our son was in high school (13 or 14 years ago) some kid in his class who was always in trouble pulled a gun out and put it to our sons head and said BANG.!!! he didnt get a good look at it and couldnt tell if it was a real gun or not but a few of his friends saw it and thought it looked real.:sad1: this was way before Columbine and the schools were more inclined to fluff things off.
since all the kids were afraid of this kid no one said anything right away and by the time we found out about it was too late and despite our protests the school did nothing. "we will keep our eyes on him". it was very frustrating at the time and it obviously freaked our son out for a while.
the kid later transfered and we heard was always in trouble with the law.
SO.. COME BACK LINDY LOO...WE ARE HEAR FOR YOU!!:grouphug:

if no one comes out to talk im going to be tempted to call cinnamon. :rolleyes1 ...no i wont do it. fight the feeling:scared:

believe it or not i just finnished painting closets. when we downsized 3 years ago into this condo we painted everything but the closets. we kept putting it off. and since i have no life and robins gone i figured its raining today so ill paint. wont she be happy to see her bright and shiny closets.:cloud9:

It's funny that in our family, the very first grandchild (for my M & D) was a girl and then there were 5 boys in a row. The youngest up until 7 months ago is now 13. And now, after 22 years, we have two girls finally! Boy my Mom would be in her glory if she were still alive, not one but TWO new granddaughters!!

Sometimes, on the baby monitor, we get the strangest noises, we check and there's nothing, Kira is sleeping soundly, not even moving. I like to think it's her Nan coming to visit her from Heaven

thats like one of the greatest things ever:cloud9:

Thanks Nancy  That's sweet of you to say. My new niece's name is Danielle Aimee, but they will be calling her Dani. She had the chubbiest cheeks I ever did see!

OMG Mike, that's horrible! I am glad your son was ok, can you imagine if it was real?? And what if it went off by accident? OMG I can't even imagine! :sad2:

That's one of the reasons we will never move to the USA, no offense, you guys got some GREAT stuff, great places and we will visit TONS but I can't imagine going to school worrying about students having guns! :sad1: It scares the crap outta me! :scared:

I think I might have found us a house finally! Kira and I went to look at it tonight (Rob's in Vancouver and Seattle this week) and we liked it :) The lady seemed really nice and she said as long as our stuff checked out then it's ours. (crossing fingers, we've heard that before!) So if that's the case we will be moving at the end of July...half our house is packed already so no biggie!

good luck with the house. you are due for some luck in the house dept.:wizard:
we have never been able to figure out the obsession with all the guns over here either. the statistics are astounding!!!:confused3

cass.. so robs away and robins away and we are on the boards. how pathetic are we:sad2:
do you guys still have your buttons scrapper jill made from the last cruise? i was thinking of wearing mine on my hat just for the heck of it. i know its pathetic but we have a collection of over 1300 diff disney buttons:rolleyes1

Yes, we still have the buttons! I paid $20 for a stinkin' button, just kidding :upsidedow She did a good job on them! Holy crap, 1300 buttons!! :scared1: I don't think I have 1300 of anything....except maybe fonts :lmao: and scrapbook paper :rotfl2:

I just got home, went to see my brand new niece (she was born at 2:09 this morning!) then we went to see a house (during rush hour, good gravy people! It took me 1.5 hours to make a 35 minute trip and Kira was cranky and she cried for over an hour of that journey :sad1: ) we just got home, I fed her and played a bit with her and I just put her down now. I am about to finally go eat now. Ahhh peace and quiet finally! Gonna go veg for a bit and maybe watch some Hell's Kitchen from last night. (You STHUUUPID DONKEY!!! :lmao: he's MUCH meaner this season  )

Have a good night everyone! :thumbsup2
