Karen, we are going to be in MK on Fri night also for Wishes and the parade. Do you want to have a mini DIS meet that night for the fireworks?

This sounds like a great idea if you're up for it Karen! Shane and Ellis could meet for the first time under the fireworks at the MK ......how neat would that be?!! (We are traveling with Lori (Goofyfreak) and another family.....we all have kids the same age! It might be a really fun thing for everyone!!! )

What's everyone doing this weekend? DD4 (Julia) is going to an overnight camp with my mother tonight. She was so excited!!!! I pick her up tomorrow afternoon. Then off to a graduation party for my friends son. Then nothing!!! I should clean house. We'll see.

Forgot to mention earlier - I dont know if any of you remember a while back I was talking about how dangerous the road is outside our house and the school and that several kids have had near misses cos of people parking illegally....well today a child got knocked down on his way out of school ....I dont know how he is but his face was all cut up and an ambulance arrived quickly and took him off to hospital.

All because people cant slow down, park properly and walk 100 yards.

I wish they'd listened, I told the school, the council, the highways dept, the police and the traffic control warden. Nothing much was done. They'll do something now its too late.

You said this would happen....They should've listened. Hope the child is okay. Now they will have to make it safer.

It does seem that they always wait for a tragedy to hapeen before anything's done. I just don't get it. Keep us posted on his condition when you hear something.

Missy and I are here at work and just commenting on Jeff's counting all our posts. I can't believe that she has more than me and I got her started!!!! I need to step it up!
Is anyone doing the Pirate excursion at Grand Cayman? I am thinking about it.

Absolutely! - sounds great! - we're in Seaworld during the day and coming over to just see Wishes etc if not too tired. Our only other chance is on the Wednesday for wishes - I love it - I'd watch it time after time. I absaolutely love that child singing at the beginning - I bought the soundtrack

A friend of mine suggested we not miss the sunset and mallory square.......he said it is almost like a carnival atmosphere.........

Roughly what time is sunset? - will the earlies still be in dinner - do people not eat onbaord that night and eat in Key west and then go to Mallory Square? Can you get back off the ship once you've eaten?

I can relate to everything you have said about the conversation and looking all around. She is very like that too. We have a real problem with getting her to eat too - I know its a side affect of the meds so we try to get her to understand that she has to eat even if she doesnt feel hungry. Though I must say that it was more of an issue when she was on Ritalin - now she is on Concerta which is supposed to be better for teenagers.

She is moving into High School next year and I am a bit worried about that - a lot more distraction, more risks, and more reasons for problems. I wish we could afford Private - but its a new high school and so there will only be grades 9 and 10 this coming year.

I assume Sean will be on the cruise. Hopefully they will find each other at the Stack and hang out.

Hopefully they will meet up.... best at our group meet, otherwise Sean will be antisocial.... he never hangs out in the teen club.
But last cruise he met a teen at our group DIS meet and they became good friends and hung out together all the time on the ship.

Glad to know of one more older teen going.

Of course it will be nice to meet you also, Jessalynn and the rest of your family.

They say that as you work out you lose fat and gain muscle.
Muscle weighs more than fat so you could be heavier but in better shape!

Robin, sustaining a week in a long term weight loss is fine. So is going up a pound every once and a while. You need to look at it like a stock/investment, you will have some great weeks, you will have some not so great weeks. As long as you are heading in the right direction overall, there is nothing to panic over. Good luck next week.

Has anyone done the towel or napkin folding classes on board? I think I want to do those this cruise.

I did napkin foldinfg, its was great fun, would do it again. I didnt do the towel folding though I hope too this time. They were very helpful and people came around and helped if you got stuck ! They even let you keep a napkin! and instructions

Elouise is excited to have "big Children" on her table,I hope she doesnt become a pest and start following them around as if they are idols ! She does enjoy older chidrens company. Guess that might be cos shes an only child, so use to adult conversation more ?

Alex loves little kids. She is very used to Julia following her around. She has said many times how cute Elouise is in her pictures. The added bonus for her is going to be that cute little accent that Alex will just LOVE!!!!!

Well, I for one was disappointed--my roof is still intact so I will have to pay for a new one myself It was a little like winter around here--they hype any storm so much and then they usually end up being nothing. Most of us are in the Southeastern corner of the state and we did get some rain, but no damage. I think there was a tornado up north, but I didn't hear all the details. We only had some branches down. Thanks for asking.

There is nothing special in the kit that you wouldn't get from the boards or the website. What I have done is book the cruise on-board and then transfer out to AAA (I try to keep control as long as possible). The $50 or $150 (depending on room category) room credit is great.

Not sure if you know this, but I think Scott will need to get a form signed by his children's mother stating that it is o.k. for him to take the kids out of the country. It will need to be notarized. I remember reading that in the on-line check-in on DCL's site. Figure you'd want to work on that now instead of running around a couple of weeks out.

I think that is part of my problem. I want to have control of it. It is driving me nuts that I do not know which airline we are taking or what time our flight is. I am used to our AAA TA being our friend and she would give me all the information ahead of time. Now that she is not there I have to wait and be patient, which is not one of my good qualities.

Prioritize the things in your life. Your children and their upbringing and education should be your main concern, not what you have. If you get bogged down on where you are in life, it will be picked up by them. Always try to be optimistic.

Also, look at your circle of friends. Can you call them in the middle of the night and they would come over? Will they dropped something they had planned if you were in crisis? If not, they aren't "friends". Our circle of friends will be their when and if we need them and us for them.

I want my cake and eat it to. I thought I always wanted to be a stay at home mom. But the ex wife has made me hate staying home for here kids. Long story. I love staying home for Mackenzie but again the ex has alot of control over it and I can not handle that. I also want to have a career, but I want one that will be flexible with having time off with Mackenzie and working around her. I would like to go back to school but with Scotts job that is hard for us to do at this point. Just things I would like to do to better myself. I am happy with who I am, just not where I am in my life.

As for friends you hit that nail on the head. We don't have alot of friends. We can count them on one hand. Not very social people. The couple that we thought were our best friends, that we have dropped everything for in the past, turned out to really let me down when my mom was hospitalized, now we know they are truely not our friends. They were pretty much out for free meals with us. Oh well I guess we are the ones that learn things the hard way.
