I'm with you on that one Cass. I love thunderstorms myself. The louder the thunder, the brighter the lightning..all the better. I just love it!! :dance3:

How does Kira like it?

Ditto. I love to watch them roll in.

HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY JESSALYN

:bday: party: :bday: party: :bday: party:

:flower3: Happy B-day Jessalyn. Oh to be 40 again. :rolleyes2

Jessalynn,
I am a partner in a private firm that provides managed security services to businesses. We also do communication technologies as well. This is the job that provides for me. The other job I perform is done for free, I provide as much as I can back to the world. One of the twins has down syndrome (Alyssa). She just had a second surgery on her ankles to correct her in-step. I got the bill this week which was over $20,000 for this last procedure. Our insurance picked up 50% of that and a program that Alyssa belongs to picked up the balance. The first surgery was much the same. She also had major heart surgery shortly after being born and it too was almost the same scenario. Since there is a program that has taken care of such large loose ends with Alyssa, I work very hard to make sure it is given back. I also work for a company serving over 300 participants like Alyssa (only older) that provide day services, jobs and care. As much as it would be nice to have a second wage, doing it for free is one of the best ways to balance off what the world does for Alyssa.

Today the twins are fine! :woohoo: Fingers crossed, no calls yets from the nurses office and only a couple of hours left in school. Now I am not sure what to do about telling them about the trip. Surprise them the day of, week of or sooner. I'm going to share those ideas with Dawn and make her decide.

Thanks everyone for all the camera advice, I started gathering little gel packs from unopened items around the house, gonna grab some fresh ones closer to October. Cass has the right idea of buffering the cold to hot climate too. Hopefully we won't have any camera trouble, our kids love watching the DVDs from other trips before bed. Over and over, I would never live it down if I screwed one up.

John

Ok this goes along with Missy's idea of ordering the video and having the girls watch it the night before. If you have a portable DVD player you could bring it on the trip and while on the plane over let them watch it. When they finish with it ask them if it would be something they would like to do some day. Tell them that you will take it into consideration, then when you get off the plane let them know that they are going on it.

Just a thought. I am never alble to keep a surprise but I always want to surprise the kids.

I thought I'd better get on here to distract me. I'm dying to have some blueberry muffins. :guilty: If I just occupy my time for at least 15 minutes, the craving will go away.

I've been using weights to firm up my flabby arms. I should be able to take Cinnamon, now. :rotfl2:

This is for everyone...

I don't want to say the "L" word, but here are some pics for you.
These were taken on our first cruise off the deck of the ship on March 8, 2001.

Enjoy.

Hi everyone, this is Tony, Nancy's son.

Unfortunately, my mom is in the hospital because she was apparently on her computer at work this afternoon and fell backwards off her chair and cracked her head open on the desk behind her.

I talked to her boss and she said that all they heard was my mom laughing her butt off and then kerplunk, back she went.

We just got back from the hospital and she doesn't recognize us anymore.

She just keeps repeating...

Borat,

Borat,

Borat

We can't figure out what this means.

Can anyone with the initials of J.E.F.F. help me out?

Seriously? Did she really crack her head open?

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
That was hilarious Jeff!! I opened up the page at work and was laughing so hard that my boss came around to see what was so funny!!

I was going to tell you that a Moderator made me remove it and banned me from DISing forever but not sure if you'd fall for it.

Thanks for the laughs!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Who's up for a good laugh?

With everyone adding the logo to their signature line, most people saved the picture to their own photobucket sight. But not Nancy.

She linked to my photobucket site so I am in control of the pictures. With me being the "ALL POWERFUL" then on it, I had some fun. Go to her last post and take a look at her KK Logo. :lmao:

Sorry Nancy, I had to do it.

I will switch it back later. For now, I want to have some fun and laughs, at your expense of course.

Jeff

p.s. I am not responsible for anyone's computer screen "spew".

Hi hi hi! I'm finally back online here with you guys!

We had a great time in WDW. Couldn't have asked for better weather! It was cooler in FL than it was here in the DC area! Mid 80's, low humidity and breezy. Katie celebrated her 5th b'day in grand style! We had a wonderful time, and am looking forward to going back in October.

Guess what I got today! Our pre-cruise planning kit! Really makes things official now! It's the booklet which discusses shore excursions, on board gifts, and the cruising "know before you go" stuff. It even has a schedule which spells out our online booking date (Jul 7), our final payment due date, and the cruise sail date. Gonna be absorbing this stuff!

We've been home for over a week now. Guess why I couldn't come online sooner. I got Pink Eye! Yuck! DH told me I couldn't use the computer as I was too contagious and he didn't want to get it. (I don't blame him really!) Been wiping everything down with clorox wipes!

So, what big juicy news have a missed? Looks like I have over 200 pages to read, and there's no way I can do that! How is everyone doing? What is this I've read about wristbands?

Glad to be home, but missing WDW already!

Tina

Hi Tina!!

Great to see you back! I'm so glad you had lots of fun and the weather was nice. Did you run into Brenda?

You didn't really miss much. We reached post #10,000 but it was rather uneventfull. Cass made up a KK Logo for T-shirts, and Jeff is taking care of the DIS bracelets for us.

Visit the KK Yahoo site for more info.

Welcome back Tina!!!!! You've been missed and envied!!!!;)

Happy Birthday Jessalynn!!!party: :bday: party: :cake:

Glad to have you back. Great to hear that you had a good time. Sorry about the pink eye. I have had it twice and it is like people run from you just to avoid it. I still don't have my kit. Another question to call my AAA and ask but then again I have left 3 messages now and she still won't return my calls. I am so done with AAA. From now on I book everything myself.

Nancy,

:flower3: Happy B-day Jessalyn. Oh to be 40 again. :rolleyes2

Thanks - I would say "oh to be 30 again" but I wouldnt mean it - At 30, I didnt have my kids, I worked 60-70 hour work weeks, and spent my weekends trying to find someone to be my life partner. At 40, I have financial security, a wonderful family (specifically my neice and 2 kids), a person to share my life with who truly loves me including all my faults, and a job that while frustrating at times allows me to come home and enjoy my life most nights.

Life is Good at 40!!

A toast to all 1967 babies out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
