BTW, don't you just love writing all that out?

To top it off, my street has 11 letters not including the word "road". So if you spell it out completely, it is 24 characters for the street address.

By the time I'm done writing out their names and addresses I usually have a cramp in my hand. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The one good thing from it is you can easily find someone's house. That address sure does pinpoint it.

For those wondering how our addresses work in Waukesha County, they are usually 7 numbers in it. They are broken down by how far west you are and how far north or south you are from 0.

So an address could be W123 N4567. This would put you on a north-south street at the 123 block west and just north of the 4500 block.

Another form is N12 W34567. This would put you on an east-west street. Here you'd only be 12 blocks north of the 0 marker but over 345 blocks west of 0.

Your neighbor will be be 2 or 4 numbers more or less than you depending on how far apart the homes are. Needless to say, if you know the major roads' #'s, you can find some one much easier than 123 Main Street. Where the Heck is Main? Don't even need the road that much the way we do it.

Bloody hell thiers a decision postman or brain surgeon:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Oh Karen, so sad to hear about this. I hope everything works out well - sending you    from this side of the pond and will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

If you need someone to talk to feel free to PM me - my brother was diagnosed with cancer when he was 37 (this would have been about 7 years ago) and the whole experience was a real eye opener...from doctors visits to chemo and radiaiton treatments to discussions with attorneys and hospice...it can be so stressful. If you need anything just ask.

Brenda :goodvibes

Thanks Brenda - there is so much in my head at the moment that I didnt sleep much yesterday - I was researching on the internet through the night - looked up leukemia though not lymphoma  so found out I had it all wrong this morning - oh well, I know a lot about leukemia now:rolleyes:

WOW....Nice to know my gift of reading people is still with me, KAREN LOVE YOUR A VERY BEAUTIFUL PERSON and what your prepared to do for someone who's given you zippee is truly remarkable, nice to know their are still a few people in this world who are willing to put others before themselves i take my hat off to you dear, and when your fit and well sat on "are" boat I'll buy the ale,ok?....:)

Thank you Chris - anyone would do the same, I'd do it for anyone - I just dont like pain:eek:

Hi Brenda - isn't it one of those things when you have museums on your doorstep but don't actually visit them. You have to go 0,000's of miles away to visit museums. Yep - only went to Birmingham's massive museum last year cos there was a pirate treasure hunt on for the kids!:rolleyes1

Oh Karen...perhaps this might bring you together again.

Yeah - maybe, but I cant see it somehow - shes always been a loner. Even when she visits mom at xmas she puts her ipod on til dinner is served:sad2: She doesnt say much - a bit like me then:rolleyes1

Heather

You don't turn yours however until the first Sat/Sun in April, correct?

I think it was only us crazy Americans that move it up 3 weeks.

No idea when it happens Jeff - I usually find out when I'm either an hour late or early somewhere:confused3 - "oh,.... it was today was it?"

I think it was only us crazy Americans that move it up 3 weeks.

Spring forward is always the last Saturday night/Sunday morning in March and Fall back is always the last Saturday night/Sunday morning in October. The argument whether to stop moving our clocks back in the Autumn keep being debated within Parliament. There is increasing demand for us to stop and follow the rest of Europe who do not change their clocks at all.

Hope this helps Jeff.

We got caught out one year at Cape Canaveral. Couldn't understand why the car park was so quiet, until we noticed the clocks were an hour earlier than ours.

Heather

Ya know, it's kind of sad when the top two posters on this thread aren't even cruising in October any longer.

I think what that means is that Jeff and I, independently of each other, need to get a life!! :lmao:

Sorry Guys, just celebrating Man United 1 0 win in the FA cup.... now Watford, which we SHOULD beat, then the final SHOULD be Man U Chelsea!

Karen, I've PMed you honey...............:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Thinking of you, and your sister............... sending you loads of positive thoughts. Hang in there mate...... and remember you have lots of people here to support you.

Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight. Linda x

Hi guys

Didnt say anything earlier cos I was waiting for more info, but I thought I wsa gonna have to cancel the cruise. Dont think I do now though, but still not too sure.

My sister (we dont speak much - once in 2-3 years at xmas) came to my door yesterday. Nearly fell off my chair in shock. Shes only met my son once when he was about 1 1/2 so I had to introduce them:sad2:

Anyway... to cut a long story short she's got lymphoma (probably spelt it wrong - cancer of the blood). Shes had other cancer for a year apparantly - didnt know a thing, neither did mom) and needs me to be a bone marrow donor. I was shocked (obviously) to have this news after no contact in years. I'm happy to do it, but I still dont know when it'll be, but it sounds like a while away yet.

She starts chemo today so please spare her a thought if you have the time.

The thought terrifies me - I dont even visit the docs unless i'm desperate and then have to be dragged there kicking and screaming:scared: , but apparantly I'll only be in hospital a few days and recovery takes a couple of weeks if all goes well. I might not even be a donor match, but please pray that I am so i can help her. Shes only 43.

Anyway, bye for now and sorry its so depressing.

Dear, dear Karen,

I am so sad for your sister and for you. "Cancer" is the ugliest word ever!! I promise to keep you and your sis in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us updated.

Also, please feel free to PM me anytime! Maybe I can help with a few kind words.

Nancy,

Do you have one of those "GPS type" addresses most people have in Waukesha County? We have West-North or West-South addresses moving out from the city of Milwaukee.

For us to get to "my page", if we drop the W and N, we will need over 40 million posts. :scared1: :lmao:

Brenda, based on where you said your BIL lives, he probably has one of these addresses as well.

Yup, I have one of those crazy long addresses too! And, my job also has one.

BTW, don't you just love writing all that out?

To top it off, my street has 11 letters not including the word "road". So if you spell it out completely, it is 24 characters for the street address.

Are you counting spaces Jeff? My address then would have 20 characters spelling out "drive". I guess Cheryl probably has one of those nice long addresses too living in Muskego!! I have friends in Mequon who also have the long addresses but they've dropped the North-West thingy. Just the numbers now.

Ya know, it's kind of sad when the top two posters on this thread aren't even cruising in October any longer.

Couldn't you be a little more sensitive B? You don't have to rub it in....:sad1:

Whoops sorry in my excitment I forgot to explain the football. :goodvibes

Chris and I love Manchester United, and tonight they were playing Middlesborough, for a place in the semi final of the Football Association cup ( its a big prize for UK footie teams) Chelsea are a London team, and they won their match too, so.......... 2 BIG teams should be in the final... if they both win the next match ..

Its very important to win the FA cup for pride, but also for future income and to attract big players.... though saying that Man U and Chelsea have 100s of big stars playing for them. IF Man U were not in it I would be supporting the under dog team to win. I like doing that.

Clear as mud I guess !!:confused3 but I bet where ever our darling Chris is he will be smiling...:) :) :)

Will have to keep my reputation up now............ so off for a large class of wine and a big bubbly bath, to celebrate! :goodvibes

So anyone want to hear some good news?

Remember last week when I told you that DD Kristin got an internship for Interior Design? Well, she starts tomorrow and that will take care of this semester.

So last Thursday one of her teachers handed her applications for two more internships for her last two semesters.

Guess where they are? DISNEY!!!! Yup, you heard it right! One of the internships would be designing something within the parks and the other would be cruise ships. Of course she would have to move to Florida for a year and of course I volunteered to move with her!! :dance3:

I just hope that she won't be designing one of those "ride queues" at Epcot!!
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

So Karen, I made her promise that if she gets the job helping to design one of the new Disney ships that she'll name it "Karen", just like you suggested!!:rotfl2:

So today she got an email saying that she is being interviewed in Milwaukee by Disney on April 12th!! WISH HER LUCK!!
