Went to Green Bay this weekend for Grandma's 98th B-day. To be that old and still be mentally and physically there. I only wish I'll be that lucky.

BTW, and I apologize if I asked this, but does the UK have daylight savings time?
Yes, as Karen said Spring forward, Fall back.

Hi everyone, had a bit of a busy weekend, so unable to contribute.

Had Rick's Mum and Dad to stay this weekend as it was Mother's Day yesterday. We had a nice time, did a bit of retail therapy yesterday getting a few items for our Alaska trip. Visited the Cemetary on Saturday to put some flowers on Rick's Nan's grave. In laws left this morning, so back to normal.

Rick and I have today and tomorrow off so we have decided to visit a couple of museums tomorrow as a bit of a change. I'll tell you all about our trip when we get back.

Anyway, happy Monday - Heather

Good morning everyone! :)

I have no idea why I'm so cheerful this morning - that's an obvious sign that something is not right with the world...

Heather have a nice time - can't wait to hear about it once you return. I love museums...if only there were some in St. Louis that would actually rotate their collections once every 20 years.

Off to work...yuck!

Hi guys

Didnt say anything earlier cos I was waiting for more info, but I thought I wsa gonna have to cancel the cruise. Dont think I do now though, but still not too sure.

My sister (we dont speak much - once in 2-3 years at xmas) came to my door yesterday. Nearly fell off my chair in shock. Shes only met my son once when he was about 1 1/2 so I had to introduce them:sad2:

Anyway... to cut a long story short she's got lymphoma (probably spelt it wrong - cancer of the blood). Shes had other cancer for a year apparantly - didnt know a thing, neither did mom) and needs me to be a bone marrow donor. I was shocked (obviously) to have this news after no contact in years. I'm happy to do it, but I still dont know when it'll be, but it sounds like a while away yet.

She starts chemo today so please spare her a thought if you have the time.

The thought terrifies me - I dont even visit the docs unless i'm desperate and then have to be dragged there kicking and screaming:scared: , but apparantly I'll only be in hospital a few days and recovery takes a couple of weeks if all goes well. I might not even be a donor match, but please pray that I am so i can help her. Shes only 43.

Anyway, bye for now and sorry its so depressing.

Oh Karen, so sad to hear about this. I hope everything works out well - sending you    from this side of the pond and will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

If you need someone to talk to feel free to PM me - my brother was diagnosed with cancer when he was 37 (this would have been about 7 years ago) and the whole experience was a real eye opener...from doctors visits to chemo and radiaiton treatments to discussions with attorneys and hospice...it can be so stressful. If you need anything just ask.

Hi Brenda - isn't it one of those things when you have museums on your doorstep but don't actually visit them. You have to go 0,000's of miles away to visit museums.

Ooooohhhh.... jsut noticed we are on page 272!

So what you ask:confused3

I live at 272:goodvibes

Maybe its a sign..........

Is the end of this page meant to be mine?:confused3

I think so Pirate Jeff:banana:

Nancy,

Do you have one of those "GPS type" addresses most people have in Waukesha County? We have West-North or West-South addresses moving out from the city of Milwaukee.

For us to get to "my page", if we drop the W and N, we will need over 40 million posts. :scared1: :lmao:

Brenda, based on where you said your BIL lives, he probably has one of these addresses as well.

Yep - they have one of those N... W... addresses. Blows my mind every time I have to send something up there for one of the kids birthdays.

Karen,

Sorry to hear about your sister. Hope all goes well with her and if you're needed, that all goes well for you too.

Yep - they have one of those N... W... addresses. Blows my mind every time I have to send something up there for one of the kids birthdays.

The one good thing from it is you can easily find someone's house. That address sure does pinpoint it.

For those wondering how our addresses work in Waukesha County, they are usually 7 numbers in it. They are broken down by how far west you are and how far north or south you are from 0.

So an address could be W123 N4567. This would put you on a north-south street at the 123 block west and just north of the 4500 block.

Another form is N12 W34567. This would put you on an east-west street. Here you'd only be 12 blocks north of the 0 marker but over 345 blocks west of 0.

Your neighbor will be be 2 or 4 numbers more or less than you depending on how far apart the homes are. Needless to say, if you know the major roads' #'s, you can find some one much easier than 123 Main Street. Where the Heck is Main? Don't even need the road that much the way we do it.

BTW, don't you just love writing all that out?

To top it off, my street has 11 letters not including the word "road". So if you spell it out completely, it is 24 characters for the street address.

Our clocks go back in fall and forward in spring - drives me crazy - I have about 30 watches:lmao:

You don't turn yours however until the first Sat/Sun in April, correct?

I think it was only us crazy Americans that move it up 3 weeks.
