You know what they say about "Pay-Back"????

This won't be the first time a fellow DISer wanted to get me or send me overboard.

Not sure if I told the story here, but on my thread for the Jan '06 cruise, some asked about attire for kids on the boat. I put that it clearly states that in the DCL fine print in the back of the book that all passengers regardless of age need to be dressed formal for dinner.

Well, more than one person thought I was serious. They said they'd get me. I told them they can't miss me. I have very large ears, I wear red shorts, yellow shoes and white gloves. You will see me all over the ship. :rotfl2:

So now, if anyone on this thread wants to throw me over, you also know what I look like. :thumbsup2

Hey, this is my 500th post on this thread.

What would be a good post for this occasion?

How about a meaningless post?

I could make nice with all the people I've offended.

I could tell you that I convinced Suz to go on this cruise.

Hmmmm, what shall I post......

Why not the Borat picture. You guys never get sick of that one.

Walt and Di = 10

We don't post because we must be shy:rotfl:

Waiting on the cruise :hourglass

well i know for a fact walts not shy when the girls from junction 21 are performing on stage. right walt? hopefully they will be on this cruise also.

Abby,

DS is 9 right now, but will be 10 when we cruise--he's really excited to meet kids from all over the country and WORLD!!

I can't remember if it was on this thread or the repo one, but the people were talking about getting a project together for the kids to track where everyone is coming from, something about their homeland, who has to travel the furthest, etc. A nice little learning experience for the younger DISers.

Just a thought. I think there is enough of them on this cruise that could exchange info. Then if your kid has teacher like mine, when they want something "extra" while you have them out of school (ours made DS do a journal), you can tell them about the project.

That would be fantastic!! Anyone know for sure if this has been started?

Hey any of the guys here up for being one of the Village People doing the "YMCA" song and dance in Rockin Bar D on 70's Disco night?

That was so much fun!

I've asked DBF to try it when we go, he says he would.

LUCKILY, there is no BORAT night!:rotfl2:

Well, they could revamp the Village People a bit and add Butt-Floss Man!:lmao:

What Happens on the ship Stays on the ship :rolleyes1

Junction 21 :thumbsup2 :rockband:

Can't wait for "some" more night time fun    :cool1: :cool1:

That would be a really neat idea. At least I think so. Not sure DS would agree!

I had a meeting at DS's school today and found out from the principal that they have testing in the fall called Terra Nova. A co-worker told me that it lasted for 3 weeks (in Oct. of course) for her daughter's school. Now I am fearing that this testing will fall during our vacation! I guess I better e-mail the principal and tell him what we're doing. If I have to change our dates I will be none too happy. I don't think anybody could be as fun as this crowd............

Just curious...what is terra nova testing supposed to be? I have a lot of friends who teach and I don't think I've ever heard them mention this one.

It might be an Ohio thing. I think it replaces the proficiency testing we used to have. But I'd never heard of it until recently and I'm new to all this testing stuff the schools give the 2nd graders and up. Come to think of it, it probably is an Ohio thing, based off of the Ohio standards, or the requirements of each grade by the end of the year.

OK - that makes sense. :thumbsup2

From what it looks like, TerraNova is given Nationwide, but I don't think it is given to all schools.

I think it is similar to the Iowa Tests we had to take when we were in school.

Not sure if DS's school is going to it. I checked their website and they still have the 2001-2002 test results, but I don't think it was TerraNova. I thought the principal said they were going to a new method, not sure if this is it.

Princessmom 2002 fingers crossed you can stay on the cruise. We are a fun bunch and you are part of this, so please please try and stay!

Chris... Man U are through !!!!!!! yipee!:cool1:

Jeff great idea for a school project:thumbsup2 We would ALWAYS be up for sending anything about England over to you guys. We have a lot of castles and stuff !:lmao:

I brought a lottery ticket tonight, but sadly no luck..... I keep dreaming that if I won, we could all do the following week ( when Chris and Hazel stay on the Magic and we are all booted off!)...... of course it would be my treat cos im a millionaire and thinking of buying the actual boat, outright ! :rotfl:

Thank you for all the well dones for Elouise. I let her read them for herself. She loved all the smilies,( and seeing her pictures on the pc!)

Ah, the good old Iowa Basics...we had to take those every year in May: 3rd grade through 8th grade. I remember one year I actually scored a 100% and they made me re-take it because they said there was no way that anyone could get a perfect score. And then I got a perfect score the second time.

Mentally, it's all been downhill for me since the 6th grade. :lmao:

Linda - please pass on my congrats to Elouise!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:
