Count me in on this too. It sounds like fun!!!! I just pulled out our Navigators from last Oct. and it is listed as:
"Stem to Stern Wine Tasting
Sample wines from various regions while learning to become a discriminating connoisseur under the tutelage of our esteemed Palo Head Wine Steward."
Monday & Thursday (2:00 both days)

They also have Margarita Tasting and Martini Tasting if anyone is interested

Cheryl - That Key Lime thingy with the chocolate sounds super yummy! Might have to see if I can try one of those. Where did you find that?

QUOTE]

We got this at the Blond Giraffe, they have a couple locations on Key West. The one we went to was near a stop for the Old Town Trolley and was at 802Duval Street they also have one at 107 Simonton Street which is their factory and store, 1209 Truman Ave and thier web site says they have one coming soon to Greene St. which isn't too far from the pier http://www.blondgiraffe.com/index.htm

Oh by the way,...for those who have been lovely enough to send bucket loads of dust stuff so far - my sis gets the blood test results either wed or thurs this week, so chuck a bit her way if you have a sapre wand full and please put her in your prayers. Thank you:grouphug:

Karen Keeping you and your sister in my thoughts and prayers! pixiedust: pixiedust: :grouphug:

I'm really pumped now.

Just got off the phone with Air Tran.

Remember my post a few back where I said they changed our return flight? Well I called them. I told them I'm listed on a flight that doesn't exist right now (the 12:23 p.m.). She pulled up the record and showed that we should be moved to the 11:51 a.m. She then said they could put me on the direct flight at 11:33 a.m. (non-stop to Milwaukee) if we wanted. I figure I will have to rush out on the last morning, but I would have anyways with the 11:51 flight.

I'm just happy to have the non-stop coming home.

This will most likely change before we fly, and if the non-stop goes too early, we'll be back on a connection. But for now, I'm pumped.

Because of a schedule change, they made the change for no charge. So we are now on the flight we wanted to be on originally, but didn't have to pay the $254 per person, one-way to get it. We only paid $99 each for that one-way segment. That just saved us $465. :cool1:

Jeff are you renting a car or using Disney's transportation or a towncar service to get you to MCO? We used Disney's transportation to get us from the port back to MCO last Oct. and we were at the airport by 9:00 AM (and then we had to wait around for our flight until after 1:00). So you should be able to make it no problem if you are ready to get off the ship first thing. Congratulations on getting the non-stop!

This is definitely on my cruise To Do List! And I can guarantee that my sister will join in too! She loves her wine!:drinking1

The martini tasting is good, too, but we actually liked the martini flight being offered in Diversions, better. You don't need reservations for that one - you just order it from the bartender (if it's still being offered).

When we sailed in October 2005 we ordered one on embarkation day and it was $15 for 5 mini-martinis that were still big enough to share. And none of them were made with gin, which is a real plus in my book!

At the scheduled martini tasting that you have to book with guest services it was $12 per person for 4 mini-martinis, two of which were the more traditional gin martinis...nasty! :scared:

The wine tasting is nice - we did that one in October 2004. You get to try three whites and three reds and then they might even let you have a taste of the Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee - yummy!! And everyone received a pin at the conclusion.

I'll be thinking of you and your drinking in October... ;)

Brenda--Stop thinking and come with us!! Go for broke! I know, I know, easy for me to say. You will be sooo missed my friend!

Ok, everyone, I have posted my 5 tips ont he yahoo site. Now c'mon, go there and post!:thumbsup2

I'm off to pick up Emily from softball practice!

I was gonna say.....

We have one of those secret verandahs and I booked one for my in-laws....:rolleyes1

:guilty:

You lost your room Cass. :rotfl2:

I couldn't believe they were available this late and for only such a little mark up. It took me a couple looks before I saw the wrong date.

Did I say I was on the cruise with you guys this October? I meant I'm on next October. :rotfl:

Thanks.

We are renting a car (at least that is the current plan). If AT moves the flight up, we will go with a driver.

We originally were looking at an 11:02 flight, but thought that was too close, so we opted for the 12:23. That got moved to 11:5?. So we figured, what is another 20 minutes? Hopefully it will all work out.

It is good we went the way we did, because the 11:02 is still intact, the 12:23 is gone. With the schedule change, we were allowed a free change. We wouldn't have gotten this with the 11:02.

To top it off, my timing was perfect. I got all 3 of us changed and then when I looked tonight, there are NO coach seats left on that non-stop. Things work in mysterious ways. Good for me though.

I asked Suz and she said she'd be in.

When I was talking to DCL tonight, I asked if a special event could be booked for this group.

They said "yes". The CM gave me an email address to send a request to. So if anyone is interested in putting a special wine tasting together, the email address is DCLFunctionRequests@email.disney.com.

Not sure if Chris would have better luck being Concierge or not.

The other option would be to go to the Guest Relations desk as soon as you board and get tickets to one of the events.

Ugh! Jeff - I'm so jealous of your good flight fortune! We're been eyeing AirTran for a while now for our flights in Oct. Just couldn't bring ourselves to pay over $220.00 a ticket, when in the past they've been about $180 - 190 per. So, I defiantly told DH we were waiting this time for a sale. Without fail, we always buy our tickets, and they go on sale at some point. And there we are with the big "L" on our foreheads for paying so much. So, just this past weekend, AirTran goes and messes up their whole BWI schedule. Gone is the 9am nonstop. And the 1pm return is now a really super high fare. I can't stand it!

Looks like we'll be flying on Southwest. I hate the seat scramble. Especially on the return. Seems like everyone and his brother is in the preboarding line.

OK, enough griping. I'm happy for you Jeff, really, I am. I'm just  about our flight situation!

Oh, what are secret verandahs? I know what SPH rooms are, but secret verandahs? Are those the ones that used to be cat 6, but are now the non-navigator cat 7? :confused3

You are correct. They are former Cat 6 rooms that are now Cat 7's because it isn't a fully open verandah. If you go to www.castawayclub.com you can see a picture of them. They are usually $100 to $200 less than a Cat 6. The ones on Deck 6 are more open.

Linda - I haven't heard about the BBB in the MK. And it's in the castle? Too cool! I think we'll wait til Sammie is a bit older, then let both girls do that together.

We're having much better success with Sammie and her potty training lately. She's finally telling us that she wants to go! :woohoo: I know, seems silly, but we all share silly stuff!

Oh, I forgot to tell you all about our noisy neighbors. On Saturday, they'd been outside partying since about 3pm. Lots of loud music, and drinking, all afernoon long. About 9pm, two of the guys come over and knock on our door, then ring the doorbell. Now, Sammie was already in bed, and Katie was on her way. Our dog's barking up a storm, and wakes up Sam. John peeks out, but there's no way he was going to answer it, we didn't even really know who it was! So, then we're thinking either they've coming over to tell us something's wrong, like one of their guests just damaged our property, or they wanted to tell us not to call the cops! The next morning, I noticed one of the guys outside, so I go marching out there, sort of demanding to know why they were knocking on our door. My haunches were up! He's like, oh, we just wanted to come over and introduce ourselves. HELLO! At 9pm at night, afer you've lived there for almost 2 years! They must have been so drunk! Then he said "if ever we're too noisy, feel free to come over and ask us to quiet down." HA-HA. :rotfl2: Like we'd go over there after they've been drinking all day, and "ask" them to be quiet. OMG! Just amazing!

Tell me about it with the sale after you book. This happens to us often.

However, for us, it is teachers' vacation (I mean convention) up here in WI. A lot of people take of that week or at least that weekend (the one after the cruise). The schools are closed the preceeding Thur and Fri.

I looked at what the prices were the 2 to 3 weeks before we purchased ours and they weren't much lower. To get the best prices, you'd have to book in November when they first come out (like Nancy, Cheryl and Judy).

AT is running a sale right now. The way to see if the flight might go down is to see how far across their grid is the first coach seat for the flight you want. If it is in the column which allows you to select seats at time of purchase, then it most likely won't go on sale.

Jeff - I just peeked at Barb's site. Thanks for the info. I think I have looked at that before. Too bad you were looking at '08. That would have been a lovely surprise! How much more were they for '07?

Oh, and thanks to Cheryl and Nancy on the Key Lime chocolate thing. I'm going to be on the hunt for one of those!

Karen - some more dust stuff and prayers for your sister! pixiedust: And some for Brenda too when she gets her test results.

That's what I was doing, just watching the grid. Not too concerned really. At one point, some inventory was added to a flight we were watching, as the fare went down for a two week time period. Our problem is that they've eliminated the flights altogether. So, now the 124 pm return is close to being sold out in coach, because I think they've re-accommodated people from the earlier, cancelled flight, which was the one we wanted! Wah! :sad1:
