I have the ability to visit Disney World for about a week in October 2019 (possibly into early November).

At this point, I am planning on October 19-27 with park days from 20-26 (with one day in the middle where we likely only visit for AM or PM fastpasses and then do a down day).

With the announcements today, does anyone see a better week in the October-November timeframe? It needs to be pre-Thanksgiving in November.

Choose any crowded October week if you want to go to a MNSSHP and partake of the Food & Wine Festival.

Alternatively, choose any crowded November week beginning around November 7th if you want to attend a MVMCP.

It now really doesn’t matter which week you choose...the parks will be crowded.

Maybe try not to do Columbus Day weekend? Other than that, yeah it's going to be crazy crowded no matter what so... good luck? Haha :upsidedow

We went last year in October and it was super busy. That was without the SW craziness that's going to happen. I say pick the week that works best for you and when you can find the best flights/rates on hotels.

We are going October 4th-11th. Leaving Friday, the 11th to avoid the Columbus Day crowds. We know it will still be crowded while we are there, especially with yesterday's announcements, but this is why we plan, right??

I would just go with whatever week works best for you. There is no downtime anymore- the parks are always crowded. I'm actually leaning towards going during higher projected crowd times to get longer park hours. With a good plan, you'll have an awesome trip.

That's an interesting strategy. Take a break in the busiest part of the day and then return in the evening for a late night?

Yep it'll be busy so I'll throw in my first thought: It's still very, very warm in Orlando in October. I'd go as late as I could in October or early in November. We've been doing the first week of November for the past couple of years and it was still too hot on some of our days. I want to say it was in the 90s and it there was a cooling trend coming the day after we left.:tilt:

Avoid the week of Columbus Day if at all possible. Many schools (like ours) are out that week for Fall Break, and other schools/businesses will be closed making it a 3 day weekend so folks take the opportunity to take a few extra days off since they're already getting a "free" day.

Know that because MNSSHP happens several nights a week Happily Ever After castle show is only offered a few times a week so it will be packed on those nights. We purchased the HEA Dessert party for that reason and were So glad we had the extra room.

Have fun!

Exactly! Our normal park day is go to the parks early, take break 3-6pm, then head back out (usually to MK) while many people are leaving/going to dinner. One of the reasons we disliked October so much was because MK closed early most nights for MNSSHP which hindered our normal touring strategy.

Whatever week you choose, book soon. Rooms are going faster this year because of SWGE.

Oct 12-17. Our 37th anniversary is the 15th. Activating our AP for a great year of trips (30+ nights planned). We'll do the parks as we want with out worrying about the crows.

We have done several different weeks. As mentioned, just skip the week of Columbus day if you can. Otherwise, pick what works best.

We did last week of October five years in a row. Excellent time to visit WDW. Anybody who reads this board should be able to manage. Crowds are not too bad (especially mid-week).
One thing I have to say though is MNSSHP was getting worse each year. Last October it was a disaster in my opinion (at least on the day we attended it). We will not be going in October this year (due to family reasons not because we do not want to) but if we did we would certainly skip the party.
Otherwise, late October is just great
