October 2017-The countdown begins!

Wow... I guess I need to get on the ball with our "August 2016" pre-TR. :)

Looks like things are getting done. I am sure you will have an awesome trip.

I am thinking about making reservations for early next year, just so I can say I have reservations, then change to the October dates when I can make them. What do you think?

....sounds like a terrible tease to yourself...you may just start thinking that earlier trip looks good :teeth:

"I'll book a reservation and just change it. Oh heck, got the reservation, no sense in wasting it" Admitting you are hooked is the 1st step to recovery. That is of course if you wan't to recover. Once you've been to The Fort, there's no turning back pixiedust:

LOL I'm with you! I am anxiously awaiting the release of the school calendar so I can get my dates figured out. We should be able to book this August, I think!

Well DH got home about 330 yesterday. They found so much wrong with the slideout they weren't able to finish it in one day and he had to spend the night in their parking lot. Fortunately they actually have a full hookup site in their parking lot just for that, so he had electric and everything.

Some of the metal guides were completely worn and one was missing, which they finally found laying in the electrical box underneath that section :sad2: They replaced the motors, again (I think this is the fourth set of new motors in 2 years), and they replaced the tracks and some other stuff. They said they've been fixing a lot of these.

I have to give the service guys at Thor credit though, DH said they were incredibly nice to him and they went through and fixed quite a few other things for us for our troubles including a new element in the water heater, new vinyl on the entry step cause we had ripped it, a new latch for the shower door that we had broken, and a new cover on the outside light cause our old flew off on the highway. They didn't have to do all that so that was nice.

Now if our slideout keeps working it will have made that whole trip and 8 hours of driving worthwhile. Time will tell.......

I know I am hooked and don't think I want to recover

Glad to hear things are working out somewhat

carpet is cut to the length I need, waiting for it to rest (been rolled up) before I secure it.

Sorry for the MIA, Since my father in law past away the end of March, my father has had knee replacement surgery and was in the hospital for 2 weeks and this week was my husbands turn for doctors visits. Today we learned his liver cancer has returned and won't find out until Monday if surgery will even be possible this time. Next week my sister in law has surgery and will be in a nursing home for 3 months, so between the 3 I will be having a busy summer.

Oh my goodness....I am so sorry and prayers to you that you will hear better news for your husband and that your SIL surgery and recovery goes well. Taking care of family certainly comes before worrying about posting here, but certainly thoughts and prayers are with you and obviously this camping board "family" is always here to give support and encouragement. My best you you....

You and your family are in our prayers. I recently had an issue where my dad wasn't doing well either (Surgery, colon cancer, etc...) but he is on the mends now. I have now doubt it's due to a loving family and prayers. Like Jimmy said, priority first is your family. Take care and God bless!

Sorry I just saw this post. I am terribly sorry about your husband's findings. You have my prayers that you receive encouraging news on Monday.
