So after all my huffing of not going back until next year and waiting for the deals in April, We might be getting a sneaky week in for October 2nd - 9th but before I book I need you to convince me not too! But Im probably in the wrong place for that! :rotfl2:

What is the weather likely to be in early October? Are we talking Water park weather or t-shirt and shorts, or jumpers!

I think I'm hopefully timing it right to get in on the F&W festival, How busy is the F&W festival going to be? Is there a better time to 'hit' the F&w Festival? I.e. morning, afternoon, evening?

Has anyone flown direct to MCO from MAN with fly thomas cook? What are they like?

Would the Halloween decs be up by then? Is it worth going to the MNSSHP (I think Ive done the abbreviation right there) when you dont have kids? Would we look a bit daft?

Im thinking of booking BC but is there any real difference from this to the YC? Is there a 'better' preference?

Thanks in advance as always.

can't help with Thomas Cook flight info

I can confirm that the weather in October is beautiful, rainfall is much lower than the summer months, MNSSHP is not to be missed and ditto for the Food & Wine Festival. Crowd levels are moderate but manageable (it is not a 'quiet month' but it's doable). The party is definitely not for kids only and you will not look out of place in the least

Regarding where you are posting this question I can also confirm that you are in the wrong place to be talked out of booking.

My suggestion would be to book it and then come back here and let everyone tell you what a great decision you made so you can feel good about it.

As for your OH, he'll get over it when you let him try all the Beers in Germany and eat and drink round the World Showcase ;)

What an excellent idea!

Im thinking about booking club level at the BC, as I promised him a 'relaxed holiday' so surely sipping beach in a lounge after lounging about stormalong bay is a 'relaxed' holiday! We'll do that at least once whilst we are there.

Im thinking about booking 7 nights, then increasing it to 9 later on once I've confirmed time off/flights following our conversation on another thread about not paying the amendment fee. Currently the flights for 7 days are £497 and for the 9 day are £517 each direct with Thomas Cook so really not that bad at all but Im not sure we could do the 9 days just yet. Do you know if I will I still get the 40% room discount if I extend the period of our holiday?

I've never really looked into going in October, I'd like to go to the MNSSHP whens best to book? Is there a cut off day like the 180+ reservations?

We're going 3rd to 18th Oct. we went that time last year and the weather was great, none of the summer humidity but hot enough for shorts and t shirts.

We did MNSSHP and loved it, so much that we're going to do it again.Yes there are loads of families but there were also loads of adults also having a great time too.

IMO there is no difference between the YC and the BC except for how they are decorated. All the facilities are shared between the 2 resorts so really they are just 2 wings of the same hotel.

If you're considering booking either resorts then do it quickly. I know that the YC is fully booked for those dates as there is a major IT conference during that time plus all the people going to the Food and Wine at Epcot. As for the F&W it's wonderful. My major tip is DO NOT GO DURING THE WEEKEND it's a zoo. Epcot WS is totally chock- a- block and a lot of people seemed to drink a lot more than they could deal with so the atmosphere wasn't very nice. My advice would be to go during the week in the afternoon

Thank you, Im thinking about booking 2nd - 9th October, then possibly extending it to the 11th if I can confirm annual leave. I'd probably save F&W festival for maybe the Monday/Tuesday after we arrive to avoid the weekend crowds.

I promised a relaxing holiday, hence why Im thinking BC CL? Nice outside/bay area & if theres an IT convention on it might nice and quiet whilst the IT boffins are conferenceing it up!

Terrible influence this Board!

Booked BC CL 2nd-9th October! Whoops....! :) :) :)
