What October 2013 dates are you WL'd for and which resort?

I'll start...
2 active WLs are
BWV 1BR std 10/20-10/22
BWV 1BR std 10/22-10/24

I have BCV 1BR reserved already but want to switch to BWV.

Which resort are you thinking about? The Epcot resorts are always packed on Columbus weekend. As far as a snowball's chance, it could happen but unlikely at this late point if you're not already on the WL.

I am waitlists for 2bd BCV from Oct 13-20. I know I have no shot but gotta try anyway. Already got my one waitlist for Oct 11-13 in a studio at BCV, so that is cool. We are in VWL currently which is a great fall back plan!

I would WL the large resorts (SSR, OKW or AKV) if there's no availability right now. Once you get a confirmed villa at one of those, you can always get back on the WL for what you really want.

BWV studio (std) from Oct 14-17 for us! We are already booked at OKW. This is our first DVC stay and first F&W, so I'm happy either way! Just thought I'd take a long shot on it.

I patch worked a trip together 2 days ago. 3 nights in a 1 BR at AKL-JH and then 2 nights in a studio at the same resort. I'm also on WL for Boardwalk and Beach Club studios for the same dates. We are going from 10/14-19. I hope one on the WL lists come through. But, it took me 3 hours of checking the DVC page for the rooms i got to open up. Silly me thinking Oct was a down time.

Oct 3, BVW Standard view. I have Pool/Garden view booked on 3rd, and Standard from 4-7. I just don't want to switch rooms after being at VWL for two days.

Wow, as many people that go to WDW in October I thought there would be a lot more people WL'd. So far, it looks like most of us are trying to get into BWV.

WL at BWV for either pool or boardwalk view... Columbus Day weekend. Perfectly content to try SSR but DH and DS love, love, Epcot and HS so I'm trying to create a magical moment for them. Never tried WL so we'll see what happens! Good luck everyone!

Prefer SSR but it a little longer walk from food and wine festival...adult only trip can't wait!

I have a 1BR pool view booked at BWV for 10/31 thru 11/3. I'm waitlisted for Boardwalk view. I am obsessed with checking my waitlist. Yet I'm content with what I have booked. I just figured the point value is the same, so why not give it a shot?

thanks to hurricane sandy & its aftermath , we booked our annual F&WF BWV studio a bit after the 11 month window.
have:
oct 5-12 BW view (WL came thru for night of 11th about a week ago)
oct 12-14 P/G view

waitlisted:
night of oct 14 - P/G view
oct 12-15 BW view (if this one comes thru, booked and WL-ed P/G views would cancel)

we initially planned to leave on the 14th, but flights wound up being much less pricey on the 15th - i didn't even realize it was columbus day weekend.
hopefully, one comes thru (i doubt the 12-15 BW view, but have some hope for the P/G single night).
we currently don't have anything booked for the night of the 14th (BCV was available when i WL-ed, but moving again for the last night would be a bit much).
we really need pixie dust

fyi, , from others' posts/experiences, it appears BWV standard view can only be booked on points (as with BW view: points only, not even member cash bookings), or at the very least, rarely available for DVC cash bookings.

have you considered dropping the 18th, and maybe adding a day at the beginning? then you could try to book any/something, and have the possibility of only one room change.

We are owners at BWVs & OKW but decided a little late this year on what dates we wanted to go. We are traveling with my twin sister, her daughter & family (6 of us all experienced WDW visitors and DVC members). There was nothing available for our length of stay at BWVs so we booked an OKW (2br, 10/11-10/19) and then my DH & I decided to extend our stay until 10/21. We were able to book a 1br (at OKW) for the first night but had to WL the night of 10/20. Well, yesterday I got an email from MS that our WL came through!! I was going to wait until 30 days out and then make a cash reservation at BWI if I had to, but glad that is one expense I don't have. Now I must call MS and have the reservations linked so we don't have to change rooms. We also are on the WL for a 2br near the HH but are really not expecting that to come through.

Does anyone think that at least for dates starting october 23 when vgf opens, things might move a bit with waitlists? When booking opens for nonowners on june 23, i'm interested to see what happens.

I don't have any current waitlists, but I have 2 bwv standard view studios for my crew (5 adults), 1 for oct 17-26 and 1 for oct 19-26. Depending if other people move around, I may try to move us to a 1-bedroom at either blt or akv for the last few nights. Sounds sacrilegious to give up coveted bwv standard studios during food and wine, but we won't be at epcot on fri or sat.
