October 2013 - Car Rental

Subing.

Looks like we are doing a long weekend in oct. No need for a car but if the price comes down to sub $10 a day I might pick one up for convenience.

I found a 13day unlimited mileage intermediate for $235 prepay and $249 P.A.C through budget/avis. I'm on the fence about waiting it out to see if it comes down more or not (as I know it could very easily go up). However, while I'm used to seeing free cancellation codes, the p.a.c code has a $25 cancellation fee that I'm not used to seeing. I don't know if it's tied to the coupon or not, but :shrugs:

(FWIW, it's the entertainment book coupon of $40/off a 10+ day rental) MUGA063

Just to ease a few of your minds. We have used the KLM code with no problems. :)

I am just beginning our Oct car search. Normally I start months earlier and it does nothing but make me nuts for those months. ;) We always rent a car in the World and have never really found the best deal until 2-3 weeks before. In fact in May my rates did the most dropping (that sounds terrible:blush:) in the week before we left.

I just noticed that payless is about 50.00 cheaper out of Tampa. Still I will keep my ressie with national. It keeps extra driver, which is worth 50.00 for me to have both DH and I be able to drive. He likes interstate driving. While I do not. He hate driving within the disney bubble and thinks its confusing. while I find it relaxing.

I've used KLM's code several times over the past two years without incident however, I wouldn't use Costco's deals since i'm not a member; we all have our own comfort level. I've read many 'road warrior' posts that indicate calling a company can set up a red flag as to codes suddenly stopping to work and it isn't a good idea all around. it's easy enough to google a code to determine it's pedigree.

Disney2013Girl i'm not one to lock in a rate, but for a two week rental $235 is a decent deal, i'd be tempted (if it included all taxes and fees as well as a 2nd driver)

It's budget/avis so I'm 99% sure that the second driver is free (as long as they meet a requirement list and spouses at the same addresses are one of them). DEF. something I'd check into though.

It ended up being something like $242 but I had a $40 off code that took care of all of the fees/taxes and some off of the initial rate as well.

8572130 it includes LDW but is valid for anybody who belongs to KLM airlines reward program (free). Print out card and bring it along if 'nervous' re using it. I've booked two rentals out of MCO since last year without issue.

What does KLM mean and where do I put this code? Thank You!!

I just booked a National Midsize using Et coupon and X253043 that was posted at 214.95 for Jersey week in Nov. But I will continue to keep an eye out. Thx everyone

I've used the KLM code on a previous rental and just made my first reservation for October using it plus an entertainment code for $30 off.

After logging into ur emerald club, change the contract ID to the KLM ID.

Ok, just redid it and got it down another 10.00 lol I put in the wrong E coupon from the book. Thank You!!

Thanks! Just did the Costco rate finder and our rental dropped about $100. Just a little over $300 for a standard (10 day+ rental). I'll keep checking as October gets closer.

Oddly, we still haven't booked our flight down yet so I check different airports for flying in. PU in Sanford, drop off at MCO gives me a cheaper rate than PU & DO at MCO. Strange.

Just got a minivan through Costco from Pensacola to a drop off location on Hotel Blvd in Orlando for $422, including taxes and fees, from Budget. About $800 lower than last time I checked. Would have preferred Car Care Center, but that was still over $1,000.

Edit... that's for a week rental too
