The Wife and I are 30 days and counting...We will be there 10/19 thru 10/26......WITHOUT KIDS.

We are going without the kid too!

to clarify, our girls are 15 & 17. AP classes and a demanding marching schedule mean they can't go. Reservations were already made so DH and I decided to just go.

yes, DH marched and has encouraged it. My older one plays clarinet in symphonic band an is section leader for marching band. Younger daughter plays oboe like her Dad in symphonic and marches a clarinet. They didn't feel that they could miss practice (when I was booking I knew they had a BYE weekend, thought it would be safe!). Add in the fact that their competition is the following weekend and they felt they couldn't take off.

OMG I hate online check-in! Every and I mean every time I've tried to use it I have had a problem. This time... it can't apply my master card. The card has no problem I have thousands of dollars available but nope it can't apply it. It's amazing how much I hate online check in BUT I keep hoping. The definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again and hoping for a different outcome. Good lord that's me LOL

12 days!!! I'm so glad we're going in the beginning of the month... I remember last year having to sit through everyone else going till we left on the 30th and it was pure torture!

What kind of weather can we expect in the middle of October?

We go every October and you just never know. One October it was 105 with the heat index during the day but then one year it was cold (at night) and we had to buy sweatshirts. We have also been there in Sept./Oct. when it was cold during the daytime too and I had to wear lots of layers and DH had to buy a light jacket. The best thing to do is just look at the weather right before your trip and pack as best you can based on that. So far based on the last week or so, IMO it looks like it's going to be mid to high 80's during the day and in the 70's at night this October.
